My wife and I chose the restaurant during a visit to Hull. We had read good things on TripAdvisor. Easy to book online via their website. Extremely friendly staff. Made you feel welcome right away. We had mixed kebab starters, which were delicious. The mains were very tasty and we were definitely full at the end. I understand the great reviews on here now! Would definitely recommend.

We highly recommend the Madras Restaurant in Kingston Upon. We booked a couple of hours before, and we’re glad we did. Opening the door, the atmosphere was alive and busy - always a good sign! Really friendly and helpful service. The food was so tasty, so fresh and delicious!

Absolutely spot on. Had heard good things about this place so had been meaning to check it out for a while. Well worth the wait. Lovely looking restaurant with a nice vibe and atmosphere and certainly very popular as it was pretty packed. Service was great - very friendly and accommodating of different requests for levels of spice/heat etc. The food itself was amazing - good portions and all perfectly cooked and seasoned. We all said it's one of the best curries we've had for a while and certainly in Hull. Will definitely be returning and getting take-away too. Brilliant place.

The staff are very accommodating and helpful to the point that they will change ingredients in the meals on the menu to suit your palette. good selction oof different meals alongside the familiar ones you see on a regular basis at most Indian restaurants.

Wow wow wow!! What a gem of a restaurant, we will definitely be returning. We were a party of 9 including children and everything was perfection. Meal was delicious, staff were attentive, friendly and efficient but not over powering and they were so good with the children. Dishes were tasty, filling and piping hot. We couldn't have asked for more. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!!

Fabulous place - I can see why it's rated so highly! A decent walk out of Hull center but worth it! Has mussels to start and a nice Jalfresi - was very tasty and good service too! I'd definitely recommend this place!

Visited the restaurant and the food was pretty nice however the takeaway is VERY different. Extremely bland and very watery curry, really disappointing.

First visit . Very impressed with the service , food and value for money. Food was excellent, both quality & quantity. Young man front of house , Mustafa was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Only criticism is he supports Man United, that needs to change . Definitely visit again soon. Well recommended.

Cheap but no flavour in anything I bought

Superb service and one of best Indian meals I've had. Went for medium spice, but turned out a bit spicier than expected. But waiter brought out some yogurt to cool things down! If I eat here again I would go mild. The flavours were beautiful though. Highly recommend. Thanks

Had a birthday meal for my dad. Plenty of Indians came so interesting to hear their views. Positives...friendly service, slightly different menu to usual Indian restaurants and mains were good Negatives...starters were undercooked, vegetarian options limited and generally unappealing

This review is for the takeaway. Ordered chicken tikka masala, rice, and onion bhajis, the masala was bland and very watery, the bhaji was soft and soaked in cooking oil. Never again.

I walked for half an hour to find this place from my hotel and I wasn’t disappointed. Lovely Lamb Vindaloo, pilau rice and two chipati. I would rate this restaurant a good 7 out of ten for food quality.

Was in Hull at short notice. Popped in here for a dinner. It was superb from the poppadoms to the hot towel. Service was quick and attentive. The main courses had real depth of flavour. Cleaned our plates.

I ordered takeout. Chicken was VERY tough and very hard I dont understand why they gave me this??? I didnt eat the chicken and ate the sauce with rice. Its a shame as the sauce was very tasty. I dont think ill go back but if i did i would order a veggie meal.

Visited last night for a family dinner, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent from all the staff. Would definitely recommend coming here, you’ll be glad you did! We were lucky that our walk-in could be accommodated. It seems popular and it’s no mystery why. So would recommend making a reservation to avoid any risk.

Friendly greeting, warm restaurant and fairly busy for a Monday night. Onion bajhi’s were lovely and not greasy with salad and sauce. I had the slash lick mix tikka with a new sauce they asked me to try. Lamb and chicken so tender with onions , peppers and tomatoes on a hot sizzling pan . Garlic Nan very good , salad and we had the Bombay potatoes which had a kick! Friendly chatty staff and a nice atmosphere. A night place to visit and we will return. This was our 2nd visit

My family and I visited recently whilst on holiday. Our food was really delicious, with generous portion sizes, and service was amazing! Everyone was so attentive and friendly, we highly recommend. Our young son loved the nuggets and chips too, and it was such a lovely touch that he was given ice cream for pudding. We will definitely return in the future!

My family and I had a lovely dinner here tonight. It’s very good value with a set meal option and kids choices. The employees were very friendly and attentive also. All in all 5/5 for service, quality of food & value. The set meal is £14.95 and the portions were just right. We’ll be returning soon. Thanks guys!

After a few reccommendations thought we would try here and was not disappointed. Starters were beautiful (tandoori chicken tikka & onion bhaji), popodoms were good and mains were also good , definitely preferred the dupiaza over the bhuna though.. but know for next time. Our new favourite indian i think. We will be back.

Three of us pre-booked for Saturday at 6.30pm and it was pretty busy. Friendly welcome. No rush approach. Large well laid out menu. Licensed. Very good service and really amazing food.

We unfortunately didn’t get to experience the food here as the youngest was just to tired for us to stay, so we had to leave. But what we saw coming out the kitchen smelled and looked absolutely delicious! The service was great up until we had to make an early dash! The Atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and welcoming 😻hopefully we will get to come back to taste some of the amazing looking foods! 😋

I've visited nearly all Indians around hull this still has one of the best menus for choice and the taste to match on any dish.i like spice so choose chicken phall very nice the sides all freshly cooked.

A small restaurant that leaves a huge impression. The staff and service were outstanding, and the food was amazing. The star of the show for me was "naga jalfrezi", for my wife it's was the "special mix biryani" but the kids preferred the king prawn balti bhuna & mix balti masala. Hopefully, we can return there if we are ever the area.

The staff who served us was very rude and abrupt. He had no customer service skills. We were served a flat lemonaide and when we returned it he tried to argue with us that there was nothing wrong with the drink. We told him to try it and he refussed saying the drink is fine. After much convincing. He finally changed it and brought a fresh bottle to our table and poured it from that in front of us. We spoke to the manager about his behaviour and he said the staff member had just gotten off a long haul fight and could be tired? The waiter kept correcting us on how we asked for a dish off the menu. So we just ended pointing to the menu. That was a big let down as the food was quite nice. But I wouldn't go back if the same staff are on as that wasn't a pleasent experience. He also asked if we wanted to leave a tip very rude after the experience we had.

We've been here several times and we rate this as one of the best Indian restaurants in Hull, the first time we went we definitely over indulged we had to walk out off all the way over to old town, just to get a taxi, the food is gorgeous, the service is second to none and they are so helpful with advice on your order and prices are so reasonable, please try you won't be disappointed. Also the bloke who used to service my boiler said he had a job to do there one Saturday morning and said the place was soooooo clean even after a busy Saturday night, that's the only Indian he would recommend. 👍👍👍

Good quality food, good sized portions, friendly staff, the only thing that spoilt it was the coffee was burnt and microwaved making it un drinkable and the staff did not appear to concerned when I mentioned it to them.

Really a BAD EXPERIENCE!! My mate were hospitalised so he's dad wasn't in the mood to eat anything. So I tried to take him to a nearest restaurant(The Madras Restaurant). We ordered drinks and asked for starter food. One of Waiter was trying to force us to order a full main course. He completely refused to take orders of just starters. Even though, I tried to explain to him why we are not in the mood to eat the full main course. Without any apologies they refused our request. They haven't got any rights to force customers to order a full course. It's completely wrong doing and shame. We literally walked away from the restaurant. I have been to multiple Indian restaurants. I never had this kind of experience. ---------------- Reply: We were not there to just order a single starter item. We are going to order multiple starters and drinks. Even, If all goes well, we would love to even order the main course. So that means the overall order value will be more than your laundry bills. Your policy is completely awful. Other restaurants do allow to order even a single starter.

Once again the meal and service at the Madras are second to none. one of the family who own the restaurant makes sure you enjoy your meal and will tailor the dishes to suit your palette.

Started going here a few months ago because my usual restaurant was closed. Have been a few times now and each time the food has been excellent and the service even better. Will not be going back to my previous restaurant. Highly recommended.
