What can I say. Best Sunday dinner I’ve ever came across, hats off to the chef amazing. The beef was exceptional and the gravy was different class.

10/10 here every Sunday and the beef is absolutely to die for. Customer service is amazing. Highly recommend to everyone

Great food in a lovely warm and friendly environment. Really reasonably priced. We went early so it was quite quiet but it started to get busy when we were leaving at 7pm.

Excellent as always. Soup was so tasty served with the most divine brown wheaten bread. Fillet steaks were succulent, juicy and perfectly cooked accompanied with tobacco onions, mushrooms and crispy chips. Finally, the super generous serving of apple crumble, custard and ice cream was the ideal dessert on a wintery October evening. Excellent service made it an overall perfect evening. Thanks again.

Food was very tasty we had the fish and chip and beef sizzler both beautiful, hot fresh and great portions! Kids both had the homemade chicken goujons which they haven’t stopped talking about so they must be good!! Staff were very friendly and attentive we will definitely be returning soon. Great place.

The Oak Tree has a lovely atmosphere with its Beautiful Golf Course which you overlook having your meal. The food is fabulous and very reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and make you feel at home. We would recommend The Oak Tree for a very relaxing evening out. M &R Byrne

Three of us went on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch and the food was absolutely beautiful. It was a beautiful day and we had a table outside overlooking the course and the whole experience was brilliant. The service was good too.

This is a restaurant within a golf club. My review needs broken down. Six of us dined here and it was our first try out. Firstly, the welcome was 5 star ace. The food on the plate was very tasty; my fillet steak was delicious and it was cooked just as I asked. They had English mustard too, so 5 stars. We had our choice of seating so we sat inside. It was a hot evening - the sort of heat I usually pay for by going abroad - and it was all very pleasant indeed. There were a few other diners around and it was all very pleasant indeed. So 5 stars. The cappuccino I ordered was great. The service was really haphazard and it was just far too slow. We got apologies. We had only ordered mains and we waited far too long for our food, so 2 stars. The view of our group was that the food portions were ungenerous. I was satisfied with mine, but most others thought had they not ordered extra chips (at additional cost) they would have still been hungry. While they were all happy with the quality of their food I suspect this means most of our group are unlikely to revisit. I asked about vegetarian choices and it became clear there really wasn’t any so I deduce vegetarian and vegan diners shouldn’t bother. This isn’t a criticism it’s a fact, it does not affect the stars and I raise it here only to advise potential guests that these options just aren’t there. This might be different if one books ahead. We got some vegetables (green cabbage, peas, green beans) as sides with the main food orders and these were over cooked. A solid 3 star experience: one away for great slowness and one for portion size.

The Oak Tree restaurant at Mayobridge GC is a fantastic spot for food! I went with 4 friends, each and everyone of us absolutely LOVED our food. Special mention to Ailish (please let me know if I have her name right!) and Paddy for looking after us well and taking many a photo for us.

I have been to The Oak tree Golf club a few times for food and drinks and it has always been first class, on April 1st there was a charity night for Life & Time the place was packed the atmosphere was amazing.. Nothing was any bother to all the lovely friendly staff, The owner Shane went to every table to make sure that they all had food that he had organised half way through the night ... There was a quiz on and I have never laughed as much at the question a fella Dee done the quiz and I would highly recommend him, he was so funny and he interacted with the guest in a very funny way.. Well done Elvis tribute singer Raymond Magee. 5* for everything ❣️

This place is a hidden gem. Had a booking for 20 people and everything was excellent. Food is top class, service is outstanding. Very impressed!

What a gem. This restaurant is attached to a rural golf club and we only heard of it through word of mouth. We were blown away by the food. The menu is varied and interesting, and the chef changes it up every week, as we have been back several times since our recent first visit. Ingredients are sourced locally where available and seasonal where possible (there are a few Asian dishes).The staff are very friendly and helpful and the maitre d is excellent. The setting is very nice with views of the golf course. Reasonably priced for what you get. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Visited this place for the first time, we are not local and felt like strangers in the venue. Waitress wasn't friendly and staffr more interested in a birthday party in the other room. Such a pity as we had travelled quite a distance to eat at this venue. We ate our food quickly and left.

The most amazing Sunday lunch!!! If you want good food and perfect location nothing beats Mayobridge Golf Club.... plus the staff are simply amazing!!! The salmon roulade starter was just perfect ..... steaks were melting and deserts first class! If you haven’t been.... just book a table you will not be disappointed from the minute you walk in...

Nice setting with a lovely view from the restaurant, had no booking and got a seat no problem it was a Saturday lunch time. Beautiful soup and bread, will definitely come back some evening time

Came here for nugelato staff do for Christmas. Could not fault anything food was amazing staff so lovely and cater to every need and so so lovely, really made our night special. Highly recommend will definitely be back food 11/10

We decided that we wanted to go some place different. So we heard about the the Oak Tree. We arrived just after 5 with the afternoon rush just over. We said we had booked on line for 2. So we said it's our first time here. So rather than the bar w were taken straight into the restaurant and seated in a little snug area at a window view.I went for the sizzling chicken with half rice and chips. It was scrumptious and the chips were the best I have had ever. Mrs McCullough went for the slow roasted beef dinner. It was lovely. How did I know. I tasted it too. We then had a lovely desert with coffee to finish.The owner knew we were strangers so he came over and sat down and had a chat. He went and got another menu for the Afternoon time and said take it home. I took out the phone and took a pic of it.Lovely place great staff well looked after. Top marks to all. We will be back.

Have eaten here numerous times. Sometimes as a group or adults, some just my husband and some with husband and kids. The food is absolutely gorgeous. Steak night and Sunday lunch are fab. The choice on menu is amazing. We love going out here!

Thanks to the excellent staff for such an enjoyable meal, hospitality and overall welcome. We had the goats cheese tartlet, leek & potato soup, sirloin steaks and apple crumble and each and every one was delish!! Lovely relaxing and comfortable atmosphere and as it's so close we are looking forward to many more visits.

We enjoyed a large family dinner at the Oaktree. The quality of both the food and service was superb. We would thoroughly recommend.

A last minute booking which was a triumph. Thoroughly enjoyed by all family members. The specials were great! Off the beaten track but well worth the effort. Highly recommended.

My family and I had a meal in the restaurant for Sunday lunch. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff very attentive. The food was absolutely brilliant, no faults with two starters, five main meals and five desserts. We then enjoyed a drink outside in the sun. Have been to the restaurant a number of times now and will definitely be back!!

We've been here a few times for lunch on a Sunday and the food has always been faultless. With regard to the menu we usually go on the recommendation of Dympna, the head waitress (I think) who hasn't steered in the wrong direction yet. Her knowledge of the ingredients and her general demeanour are excellent. there is a full bar and the manager there is very good too.

We had our daughters First Holy Communion meal here last weekend. The food and service was beyond first class. The staff were so attentive and could not do enough for us. All our family and friends at the meal commented on how excellent the food was . We will definitely be having more family functions here. Thank you again Shane and all your great staff.

Had dinner here at the weekend and was delighted with the quality of food and service we received! I had the duck main and it was so delicious, my husband loved his steak too, said it was much nicer an better value than other steaks he has had in the area! The prices were very reasonable too! This is a great spot on the foothill of the Mournes. From when you walk through the door you are made at home by the staff. The food is excellent especially the slow cooked beef. Any requirements will be catered for by the staff.

My family and grandchildren often eat here in this lovely restaurant the food is amazing we had the beef which just melted in the mouth with mash and vegetables cooked to perfection the gravy is to die for we had beautiful deserts and the staff are all so helpful and really welcomed the children thank good they really behaved well.

I've been here many times and have never been disappointed hence our return. We had a very warm welcome and as it was a cold day we sat by a beautiful crackling log fire.

It is a lovely restaurant: simple & authentic. The meals are delicious and beautifully presented moreover you get more variety of dishes than usually in a local Irish restaurant. Well done to the chef and the staff. Perfect place for a nice, tranquil breakfast or Sunday lunch.

We have now been to the Oak Tree restaurant at Mayobride Golf Club a few times and it is fast becoming our favourite eatery in the Newry area. The hospitality is what you would expect of a countryside farming family in South Down - warm and genuine.

Such a vast choice of starters,mains and desserts. The food was delicious and served warm. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would not hesitate in recommending this restaurant. Staff are friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back.

Brilliant place to spend some time

Friendly restaurant with very attentive staff. Had the most amazing fish dish served to me. Poached hake fillet served with summer greens, tomato & dill consommé. Michelin star food it’s very hard to get nice seafood served locally but I will definitely be back here. Well done to staff, chefs and management, this restaurant is definitely a hidden gem 5*

We have been visiting The Oak Tree Restaurant for over a year now, following a successful christening event at the restaurant. With a group of 15 the staff made us feel very welcome and ensured that everything went smoothly on the day.

My wife and I arrived around 18.30 on a Friday evening - the restaurant was busy but we were immediately greeted by the restaurant manger and shown to a table overlooking the golf course.

Had my sons communion meal today, we arrived been greeted at the door and the staff had the table decorated banner and balloons up all looking nice. Our starter to dessert was amazing, staff asked several times if we needed anything leaving us not having to get up. Clean and relaxed surroundings and will definitely be back, children’s portions were ample and freshly made goujans were tasty.Pity I couldn’t go higher in score as it excellent all round. Thank u everyone for making my sons day special.

We go here nearly every Sunday and maybe Saturday's as well! and food, service and ambience is wonderful. Fish/Shellfish dishes superb as too is the Turkey and Ham with cranberry jus - yum yum. Thank you.

Could not fault this Restaurant. The food was outstanding as was the staff and service. And as for the big open log fire greeting you as you open the door it was a joy to behold!!! Will definitely be back.

Third time here and the food gets better each time! Staff are so welcoming and helpful and the quick service is second to none! Great atmosphere in the front bar and the restaurant is equally quiet and relaxing. Would definitely return again!

My first time eating here and it will not be the last. We were there for a family christening and the welcome we got was great. The restaurant had made personalized menus which was a lovely touch. I had the squid starter and it was amazing would highly recommend it, For mains i had the roast beef it was just to die for the meat just mealted in the mouth it came with pepper sauce and it was just the right heat. The restaurant itself was clean warm and the toilets were spotless.

Went yesterday for lunch and it was fabulous. For starters we had red snapper in a thai broth - magnifique, whilst my brother in law had the brie and he was very impressed. For mains I had seafood risotto - oh my word how lovely was this dish. My sister and brother in law had the turkey and ham and were they happy campers. As an extra treat we chose apple and ginger sponge yummy. Thank you everyone for making our Sunday lunch so so special.

Asistieron la semana pasada a un tributo de Elvis y tuvimos una comida antes de mano. Nuestro grupo tenía una variedad de platos principales y postres entrantes y era lo disfrutamos por todos. Gran variedad en el menú, la comida era de primera clase y una presentación. El personal era atento a pesar de que el restaurante estaba muy lleno. Esperamos que la próxima visita.

Fuimos a Mayobridge Golf Club recientemente para una comida y a ver Jim Brown como Elvis. En primer lugar la comida, deliciosa! Soy celiaco, y hacerles saber en el momento de la reserva. En la noche tenían claramente de relieve todo lo que era seguro para comer, y nada era cualquier molestia para ellos. El personal es muy amable y servicial. El entretenimiento era simplemente increíble! ! - Un sobresaliente para el Golf Club - estupendo ver un lugar local el esfuerzo de ofrecer algo diferente.

Volver al Roble después de una breve ausencia. Nuevo chef está probando nuevas ideas menú! Disfrutamos de una comida familiar realmente encantador. No me puedo quejar de la comida, el ambiente y el servicio de cualquier manera! Sin duda lo recomiendo!

I had Sunday lunch with my family at the weekend. We had a child and two small babies with us. The food was first class and the staff were very accommodating as we had our buggies in tow. We will definitely be back

Went here for a special occasion. Very disappointing. Food was totally lacking in taste and no effort with service. I complained and was not charged for the chips which I returned! Will never be back!

First class food and service at a truly decent price, I love going out for tea on Sunday with the children either with the hubby or my mum and dad (always with the kiddos).... This is the best place to go with kids as they all seem to play with each other safely outside, no one is annoyed that the children are a bit noisy or having a laugh it's all laid back and family oriented, but the service is top class and the food is wholesome, well cooked, and very tasty... Today was my second visit and certainly not my last I will be a regular in a Sunday. Thank you

Firstly..lovely staff..helpful friendly and efficient. Sadly the food was uninspiring. Pate starter was pale and uninteresting and was definitely not homemade. The garlic mushrooms contained half a button mushroom in breadcrumbs and were ok. My fillet steak was a little over done for medium rare but was nice. Served with mashed carrot n suede and cabbage..noooo! Great champ though! Beef sizzler was again ok. Nothing to overly complain about nor demand a discount or refund. An ok experience. Unfortunately won't be back..for the money there's better out there.

Popped in last Friday evening for anniversary dinner, the place was warm and cosy, we had dinner in the restaurant, the food was piping hot, tasty and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for, totally delicious and we had a lovely evening, keep up the high standard guys :)

I've been to the oak tree restaurant numourous times and each time it has been an absolute delight. The restaurant has a homely feel and always has a great atmosphere. The staff are welcoming and arrent afraid to have a bit of craic with you throughout the night which is quite refreshing. Service is great and they always make sure you have everything you need at hand. That all being said head chef Raymond and his sous chef Sean steal the show. Each dish, be that starter, mains or dessert has a great air of style and sophistication about it and belive me it tastes as good as it looks. The garlic mushrooms starter is fantastic! The coating around the mushroom is wonderfully crunchy while the mushroom on the inside is light, fluffy and fresh. They are accompanied by a good helping of garlic mayo and rest upon a bed of in house salad. They always start my meal right, a wonderful blend of flavours to get the tastebuds going and excite me for what's to come next! The 12oz serloin steak main is absolutely to die for! Every time cooked to absolute perfection. My medium-rare steak is browned on the outside while still pink and juicy in the middle. I have to say its an absolute treat to finally find somewhere that a cool a steak as good as my mum can and If you can keep a secret maybe even a little better! (Dont tell her that though, might have to start cooking my own from now on!). It can be accompanied with a mulitude of sides but I always go with the fresh cut golden chips, extra helping of mushrooms and a gravy boat filled to the brim with delicious peppercorn sauce. The sauce is rich, creamy and has some umph without overpowering the other flavours on the plate. It all comes together to make one hell of a dish!Finally for those with a sweet tooth the desserts will not disappoint! The strawberry cheesecake is light, smooth and coupled with a rich buttery base. It comes partnered with some fresh cut strawberries, fresh whipped cream and some tangy-sweet strawberry Cooley. It cleanses the pallet well at the end of your meal and always makes sure to fill any space I might have left after my first two courses! (What can I say, no matter what I always find space for dessert!) After the meal I'm quite partial to have one of the oak trees selection of cigars behind the bar. It's a wonderful end to to a wonderful night to sit outside under the stars with a good cigar and a good whisky just to take in the natural beauty of the countryside. I have highly reccomended the Oak tree restaurant to many of my friends and each of them have not been disapointed. I invite you to do the same because trust me, it'll be a regular haunt of yours for years to come. An absolute treat.

I have had many meals at The Oak Tree Restaurant and I've never been disappointed with a meal there. Impeccable service, wonderful food, and a fantastic atmosphere brings me, my family and friends back. We never wait to long for the starters and staff have always been pleasant to us. Can't recommend enough.

We had salmon and roast beef from the Sunday lunch menu..was absolutely gorgeous..the best meal we have had in a while and we eat out most sundays..will definitely be back!
