We view dining at the The Old Bank one of our special treats. The meal we had last night was, as ever, superb. Cooked & presented beautifully & served to us in a warm & friendly manner. What more could you ask for? Our fourth meal here & rapidly becoming our favourite place to visit when dining out.

We had a family table for 3 for a pre christmas treat.Excellent food and cocktails. Our waiter Tom was so welcoming and helpful - he made our experience even more enjoyable. We are looking forward to a return visit in the New Year

Managed to get a last minute reservation after deciding on a trip to the seaside. I’ve been wanting to eat at the old bank for a long time and it did not disappoint. The girls that severed me and my partner were so friendly and helpful and we brought our puppy with us who was given lots of fuss from the staff. The food was amazing, you couldn’t fault it! I can’t wait to return.

We visited Saturday evening and what a fantastic experience. The food was amazing so many flavours well presented and just delicious. Also a special mention to Aga and the lovely lady that served us, what wonderful ladies. Nothing is too much trouble they go above and beyond to make sure they look after your every need. They have a fantastic set up regarding Covid and we felt totally safe and at ease. This was our 3rd visit to this little gem and it definitely won’t be our last providing we can get a table. We had the tasting menu and truly loved everything. The quality of the food, presentation and flavours were superb, we really couldn’t fault anything. A fantastic experience and lovely staff who really looked after us without being overbearing. Top end dining without the stuffiness and formality that usually comes with it.

This is one of those special places you would rather keep a secret. We originally found The Old Bank by chance when staying locally, it was so good we have returned several times (despite living over 100 miles away). Not only is the food superb, the ambience and service is excellent, while being friendly it is not intrusive. Congratulations on what is an outstanding eating experience

The Old Bank is understated, cosy and so welcoming. we booked what would of been the last Sunday Lunch before lockdown #2. We was able to take the Dog (lunch time only I believe). First of all the service was excellent from start to finish, adhering to all the COVID - 19 guidelines. The Sunday Lunch menu was so inviting. I had the rump beef which I can honestly say was the best Sunday lunch I’ve had... ever. The drinks selection was vast and nothing seemed to much. We opted for a dessert with our lunch and it just finished the meal off fantastically. Because you think it being a high end eatery you would come away hungry but it was totally opposite. I am so happy we got to enjoy the Old Bank before lockdown and deserve every 5 star rating.

What a gem of a place! this was a first class experience. The lunch was excellent as were the staff. Both ladies very helpful, very efficient and personable. The menu is small (always better in my opinion the food is more likely to be fresh) but perfectly executed, attention to detail 10/10. This is not a gastro pub this is a different type of place and ambience. COVID arrangements very good and we felt safe. This is well worth a visit if you like food at its best. We hope to visit again.

This was my second visit to Old Bank. Since my first visit last year, I have been in high anticipation waiting to return. It did not disappoint!!! Although I didn’t think it would be possible, it was even better than before. Each course was cooked to perfection, the service was fantastic and the atmosphere was calming. I cannot wait to return in a couple of months to try the taster menu.

We went to the Old Bank on 14 October and had an amazing evening. The food was fabulous - we went for the taster menu, which had two deserts!!The atmosphere is relaxed and fun, which really made the evening extra special.I would strongly recommend to book early as tables get booked very quickly.Looking forward to going again on our next trip to Norfolk

Wow!! What a wonderful meal, excellent food, ambience and staff. Just couldn’t fault it. Choice of 3 starters, mains and desserts but everything wonderful. Been to many Michelin star restaurants but this is definitely up there!

We’ve tried on a few occasions to grab a table here and just haven’t planned enough in advance to make it happen. We finally had a chance to get in on a Saturday night and we have been totally blown away by the food and overall experience. This intimate and quaint restaurant has made the best of ‘COVID dining’ and the whole experience was well thought through and planned meticulously. We opted for the six course taster menu and each course was just as good as the one before it. A relaxing and enjoyable dining experience with top quality food and top class cooking to boot. We will go again when we’re next in town. Thank you for a great evening.

We were very fortunate to get a table due to a late cancellation. This proved to be one of the best meal experiences we have had, and we have had many! We could find no fault in the food, service or ambiance. Definitely highlyrecommendable.

We visited The Old Bank for lunch during our mini staycation in Norfolk and had a lovely time. It’s a small but extremely welcoming environment with a relaxed informal atmosphere. The food was delicious! And they went to every effort to accommodate my tricky dairy free requirements - even making a totally separate desert for me that was off menu. You would never have guessed any of it was dairy free as it was all so delicious and a real treat!Would recommend to anyone.Thanks for having us!

This is our first meal out since lockdown, and what a pleasure it was to return to our favourite restaurant! The restaurant had been laid out perfectly for these unusual times,and the atmosphere was great as always. Service and food absolutely exquisite. Thank you once again for a superb dining experience!

Absolutely amazing food with friendly and efficient service. I have eaten in some if the top restaurants around the world on my business travels and this was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Service was also friendly, informal and efficient. We drive 200 miles to eat at the old bank and it was worth every mile plus the 20% tip. Only thing I can say is that they are underpriced

Wonderful attentive staff, pleasant atmosphere, and food was incredible. Small menu but still felt spoiled for choice as everything sounded and looked delicious! What a fabulous little place! Offering only a very small number of covers, we found The Old Bank to be incredibly welcoming. The front of house team were very attentive and engaging and really helped to set the scene for a stunning tasting menu experience. All dishes were seasonal and expertly matched a wide variety of ingredients with beautiful presentation. We can’t wait to come back the next time we visit Norfolk and will be recommending to any friends and family that visit the area.

From beginning to end, our evening meal at the old bank was excellent. Very attentive staff, a most engaging and enthusiastic owner (apologies did not get your name) who explained that most dishes have 25+ ingredients. Technically brilliant - balancing flavours well and execution (smoked egg yolks) with presentation to match. Will be returning...

Booked lunch after reading the great reviews. Was greeted warmly on arrival and received superb service throughout. We opted for the two course lunch menu and the food was excellent supported by some good wine. Not only was the food excellent but the prices were very reasonable. After finishing our food we sat outside in the outside garden to finish off the wine. All in all it was a thoroughly pleasing experience that I can't recommend highly enough.

We have eaten at a few top class restaurants recently and I can honestly say that the food at The Old Bank is up there with the best. The menu doesn't really convey the delight to follow. We always like to have a taste of each other's meals and we are still discussing 'who won'. We particularly enjoyed the deserts, which were amazing.The team at The Old Bank are friendly and make you feel like part of the family.I only wished we were local (we were on holiday).

The Old Bank was fully booked when we tried to reserve for Sunday Lunch but we went on the waiting list and as luck would have it we got a cancellation.We had not had a good weekend and travelled home early because we didn’t like our accommodation. The Old Bank was like a warm hug! Everyone was really friendly, clean and well spaced tables in Covid times. Our dog was really welcomed and we enjoyed chats about everyone’s dogs. We had the Beef which was one of the most flavourful and melt in the mouth Sunday roasts we have ever eaten. The beef itself was medium rare but must have been very well rested as it wasn’t bloody and tasted divine. All the vegetables were delicious and the gravy was a good consistency.We followed this up with an apple and vanilla Mille feuille which was stunning.If you are able to get a table don’t hesitate to book. The food is not cheap but the quality of the ingredients and the skills of the chef mean you are getting a meal to remember and talk about later so on this basis it is excellent value. We have paid similar prices for instantly forgettable food.Thanks Chefs and Aga and her FoH team are delightful - if it wasn’t such a long journey we would be regulars for sure. We will definitely return to The Old Bank when we are next in the area.

We were lucky to get a spot for early dining after a few days on a waiting list and so glad we did. Small, cosy and Covid safe (how mad that we have to say this now!!) the menu was small but the choice and creativity of the dishes was beyond 5*. Service by Kay and Aga was fantastic as was the atmosphere despite less covers. The quality of choice and food by chef Lewis was fantastic. We will definitely be back the next time we stay in Snettisham. An absolute must visit if you are in the area and make sure you book well in advance.

Our first visit for our daughters birthday and we were not disappointed. Restaurant is small and cosy, COVID arrangements were in place but did not affect the atmosphere or the food. Small but perfect menu. Two of us had the set menu, two had the a la carte we were all very impressed with the delicious food. Will certainly visit again if in the area.

Our first visit to this lovely bistro restaurant since the start of the Covid 19 lockdown & one we were very much looking forward to. Protocols were followed with hand sanitizer at the door & social distancing but this in no way interfered with the enjoyment of the occasion which, as usual, was friendly and relaxed. As ever the food was Devine.

This was our perfect culinary experience of long missed Norfolk. Something we were expecting, but this time it exceeded our expectations. We have booked in advance and started with a dinner on our arrival in Norfolk and finished with Sunday lunch on our way back home. If you like beef tartare, forget it. Chef Lewis makes something infinately more exquisite . Tartare venison, with local produce from nearby Sandrigham Estate (needs to be accompanied by nice red wine). Needless to say we could not find a winner amongst the dishes we have tried during the two visits we made to The Old Bank Bistro. They all deserve the 1st ! We had a superb meal on Friday, we went at lunchtime where dogs are allowed, our two mini Dachshunds were made as welcome as us.We decided to choose from the a la carte menu, as you would expect the food is beautifully presented but the taste was fantastic, how I wish I could make food taste this good, I would recommend anyone to go here and see for yourself you will not be disappointed, make sure you book though, this is a popular place.A great husband and wife team, service is great, very friendly, relaxed atmosphere and would 100% return when next in the area.The prices are very good, great value to be honest, you can go to some restaurant chains and have microwaved food and pay the same, portion sizes are very good too, thank you for a delicious meal.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is probably the best meal I have ever eaten. Choosing our meal from the à la carte menu, we were not disappointed. Beautifully assembled plates of local produce - I'm not food critic but my palate was singing after each course. Of course, eating out isn't just about the food and the service didn't disappoint, it was excellent. Conditions post lockdown and evening temperatures that night +25 degrees must have been challenging for the staff, but they made it seem so effortless. Even the table of young somethings that arrived and demanded to "test" what seemed like the whole wine list, proved no match for the staff's professionalism (I think my eyebrow was less controlled!). My daughter, having coeliac disease, can sometimes feel disheartened with restaurant menus as they often reduce her options. Here, despite there being only three dishes to choose from for each course, she could eat almost everything she was able to confidently talk about her limitations with the servers who were incredibly well-informed (they even offered to make an almond brownie from scratch!).The atmosphere was just right - I believe they can only do 18 covers a night so for some it could be a little quiet, but we felt really comfortable here. The Old Bank Bistro experience has encouraged us to return to Norfolk very soon, I truly hope that in these testing times, they are well supported and continue on their successful path (though don't get too big and end up in London! :) )

The food was amazing from start to finish. A huge amount of care and attention was given to the finer details, for example the home grown calendula ( edible) flowers that decorated the plate for one of the starters. The homemade sourdough bread was the best we have ever tasted and it was served with homemade mushroom butter.This restaurant is run by a couple who are passionate about food and this translates into a fantastic culinary experience for the customer. COVID -19 means fewer tables and social distancing but this didn’t detract from the warmth of the welcome and high level of service in the restaurant.We can’t wait to go back.

The food was creative, elegantly put together and local - much of it from the restaurant's own allotment. We live two hours away and rarely visit the same place twice, but we'll certainly be returning here.

Had the tasing menu which was probably the best food I’ve ever tasted. The service was excellent friendly and unhurried. The owners Age and Lewis ( particularly if you want to talk golf ) are really friendly and I can highly recommend a visit

After reading reviews on Tripadvisor, we visited The Old Bank on Sunday for lunch.It was a worthwhile visit all the way to North Norfolk. Faultless cuisine, service and village location. The staff made us feel so welcome and dealt well with the current Covid19 government guidelines.Stunning food prepared by the chefs and well priced. Would highly recommend.Will definitely be back!

Everyone has said it all really! We visited on 1 August with some friends who are regulars. We were not disappointed. Friendly staff, truly delicious cuisine and lovely ambiance. Would love to visit again sometime when we are next in Norfolk.

We visit the Old Back whenever we visit Norfolk and it never fails to delight us. We always bring our kids and the team couldn’t be more welcoming. Granted, our boys (now 7 and 10) are major foodies and unusually adventurous but still, the front of house is delightful, accommodating and friendly. And the food, well, it’s just incredible. Michelin quality and reasonably priced. It’s the highlight of our twice yearly trips. Support the amazing small business, you won’t be disappointed.

Our first meal out since March and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish.We had the taster menu and everything was absolutely superb. Very friendly staff, a, warm welcome and amazing food and wines. They are coping with the new normal fantastically and at no point did it feel overwhelming for us. We will most definitely be back.

The reviews speak for themselves, but without doubt this is the best restaurant in the King's Lynn area. The place itself is cosy and the team are friendly, but the food is remarkable. Quality local produce is presented using imaginative blends of texture, colour and flavour but don't think that you are going to get style over substance, because you will be leaving with a full stomach.Seaweed cured salmon, local beef loin with baby turnips and carrots and light as a feather pistachio cake with fresh strawberries, strawberry sorbet and white chocolate mousse were my choices from last night's menu and all were magnificent.I am so pleased to see the Old Bistro up and running again!

This little place is full of warmth, professionalism and amazing food and was the first restaurant we booked after lockdown. The depth of flavour in the food is to die for and I have to confess that I ran my finger round the plate at the end of my main course (just the once - I know it’s bad manners!) Looking forward to our next visit.

We chose this restaurant based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. From the friendly initial greeting, the willingness to alter a dish slightly to cater for my taste and the wonderful food, the whole experience was fantastic. Came here for Lunch on a Thursday (I believe it's newly open for some weekday lunches as Covid is limiting capacity). Everything was great. We were welcomed by incredibly friendly, helpful, but not overbearing staff. I had a couple of courses from the (ludicrously good value for money) set menu and a starter from the main menu, and my wife had 3 courses from the main menu. Everything was great. Cured and grilled mackerel might have been the highlight but my banana butterscotch brownie thing was amazing, as was chicken with mushroom risotto and truffle. It's better food than I've had in michelin starred places. Brilliant in every way.

First time to visit though have known Aga from her previous restaurant. Hugely impressed from start to finish. Fantastic tasting menu, lovely ingredients beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Thank you. We can't wait to return

We wish that we had a local restaurant like this but we have now been three times on our Norfolk trips. This was our first restaurant meal post-lockdown and it was fantastic - lovely warm welcome, delicious food and excellent value for money. Please support this wonderful, small place which is run with passion and care. And, of course, always turn up if you have booked!

This was our first visit, and the first evening opening for the Old Bank after lockdown. The staff were warm and friendly whilst maintaining all gov advice. We felt safe and well looked after. It’s a credit to all at the Old Bank that they did all of this and still created a lovely warm atmosphere, we definitely felt that we having a “night out”. The food was fantastic - imaginative use of local produce, full of flavour, well seasoned and beautifully presented. Thank you very much for a lovely evening and we hope to see you soon

A Lovely Sunday lunch. Atmosphere was nice, staff were very friendly. Butternut squash veloutè to start which was delicious and for main I had the lamb shoulder which was perfectly cooked and partner had the beef which was very tender. Only tiny gripe was no extra gravy. This place is definatly worth a try but make sure you book in advance but it is worth it.

The restaurant is small but definatley not cramped.Staff are very friendly and knowladgebale about the menue, nothing was too much trouble.The food was totaly amazing faultless and we could not recommed it highly enough.This couple are trully extremley passionate about the food that they serve and it shows in every aspect.

Occasionally you find a chef who is passionate about the quality, cooking and presentation of his food that makes it a magical experience and for us Lewis has that ability. Added to which Aga and her young ladies do an excellent professional relaxing job of front of house. Don't change!!

Our first visit, and what a shame we live elsewhere and were only here for a weekend. We loved the tasting menu: the lamb was truly excellent. Service relaxed but professional. The restaurant is quite small but has a lovely Bistro atmosphere and the food far exceeds that of a standard Bistro though.We loved it. Thank you!!

We have visited this gem of a restaurant several times, what a gastronomical treat! Cannot rate high enough, food, service - sublime. Just fabulous!

Recommended by my brother and sister-in-law as a place to have a great meal. They were not wrong. A lovely small restaurant with masses of style and very approachable and friendly staff. The food was succulent with unusual combinations that really worked well together. I had the smoked salmon starter and Norfolk duck main, both superbly cooked and full of flavour. The wines available went well with the meals on offer. Well done to all at The Old Bank. I can highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. But do book in advance so you are not disappointed.

Family dinner. Really wonderful, originally-conceived dishes using local, high-quality ingredients. Not at all pretentious - just really delicious food. Great service and very friendly. We're definitely going back when we next can.

As a group of 7, we visited for Sunday lunch and we had an amazing meal. The good was delicious and the service was fantastic. We cannot wait return. It is a 2 hour drive away from us but well worth it.

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday 6.10.2019 Brilliant service, Perfect food delicious well cooked. We went for my birthday didn't mention it as it was for my 49+ birthday couldn't of asked for a better meal. I had mackerel to start, followed by roast beef medium rare my husband asked for his well cooked if possible he was not made to feel bad as you do in some restaurants. Not particularly expensive for the better end of restaurants and especially in Norfolk. Good choice of drinks for a smaller restaurant and well priced not inflated as again some restaurants do especially for a glass of wine. Will keep this restaurant as my special place to go and Thank you

Yet another fantastic meal at The Old Bank. The belly pork was cooked to perfection. 3 out the 4 had beef for their main, this was cooked to their liking. I had the lamb, this was cooked to perfection, slightly pink and melt in the mouth texture. The service was second to none as always. Lovely atmosphere in this special little bistro. We booked in advance as this restaurant is small and popular. We had the taster menu, which consisted of eight courses of both meat and fish, at a very reasonable price (there is also an amuse-bouche to kick off). The menu focuses on local produce and every course was cooked to perfection and delicious. The wine is also good value. Each course is described in detail by the excellent staff and the overall service is faultless and notably friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and cosy. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We first visited The Old Bank last year. We have returned time, and time again. If only we lived closer our visits would have been more frequent. The food is superb, the service delightful. How they manage to produce such a wonderful menu for the cost beggars belief.

Visited on 8 September after reading the other reviews. It was amazing. The food was fabulous but the service was top class. This was a holiday, I’m only sorry I don’t live close by to visit more often. Well worth a visit.

As the title says fantastic lunch, excellent value for 3 courses, the food was well balanced, beautifully cooked, well presented and the service and prices superb, it is a shame we don't live closer as this would be a very regular lunch venue for us, we will be back when we are next in the area, a great find, I can completely understand why is it so highly regarded.

Despite the name, the premises of the Old Bank were not remotely bank-like. The atmosphere was intimate & carefully lit with the tables a reasonable distance from each other.

Tried to book here for a birthday celebration for my wife and I but they were fully booked, however, lucky for us they had a cancellation and called us to offer us a table. This restaurant is a real find, the food is excellent and the service friendly and first class. The restaurant is small and has a wonderful warm ambience. You should definitely book well in advance but it is well worth it.

Had another tremendous experience today the food is superb the best food around for miles.

An absolutely stunning experience. The food was absolutely wonderful, the flavours out of this world, that includes the starter, main and dessert. Whoever is cooking the food must be classically trained

Taken for wedding anniversary by daughter and partner end of August. We all had the taster menu, then an informative discussion about wine pairings. (Daughter works in wine, but she didn’t let on).

We had a great lunch both the beef and pork were outstanding. The staff were so welcoming and efficient we will certainly visit again the next time we are in Norfolk.

We enjoyed everything about this lovely little restaurant and from the minute we walked in the service was professional but humorous and friendly. The food was wonderful especially the beef fillet and it was all presented beautifully. We asked for a dessert to share but they brought us individual dishes which we thought was a lovely touch and we also shared a lovely cheese board. It took us far too long to book this lovely little restaurant but we're looking forward to a return visit in the not too distant future. Thanks to all for an extremely pleasant evening.

this small restaurant is run by a husband and wife team - he is the chef and she is front of house - we went for lunch - in fact we liked it so much we went back 2 days later - oh we do so wish we lived nearer it would be our go to restaurant - we have eaten at most 2 and 3 star restaurants in the UK and the Old Bank is up there with the best - it is only a small place with 8 tables so it is really best to book and be flexible regarding your dining time but the wait will be worth it - they try to use local ingrediants as much as possible and also have an allotment from which they source lots of their vegetables - we cannot wait until we visit the area next year to go again and look forward to booking for the evening tasting menu - thank you so much for 2 wonderful lunches

Had the luxury of eating at Raymond Blancs Le Manoir ,obviously excellent. But the Old Bank is a close second!
