Aramee in Northumberland

We are regulars here and are never disappointed with the quality of the food. The restaurant has genuinely kept us going throughout the pandemic with their excellent takeaway menu and friendly staff. We returned last week to enjoy a fabulous meal inside the restaurant which we thoroughly enjoyed. The menu is varied and has some unique dishes, alongside this the chef will adapt any recipe to suit individual taste: all you need to do is ask. Azmol and his team always make you very welcome, so come along and try it for yourselves!

Never normally write reviews but after yet another fantastic meal had to learn how to. We use the restaurant regularly pre covid and during covid times the takeaway service. The food is excellent, tonight even tho busy time, food was gorgeous !! Thanks Steve & Liz

Another fantastic, tasty meal at Aramee. The Covid measures are all in place and adhered to. The manager there is so nice and welcoming. The staff are so helpful and friendly without being too full on. We were impressed to see staff Sanitising the menu’s We opted for the Thursday evening Banquet £11.95 ....very good value for money. The seating is set in accordance with current law restrictions in place. The cutlery, tableware, sparkling crystal glasses and fresh pristine white tablecloths/napkins and fresh flowers give it that extra touch of class. Love the food, atmosphere and it is definitely our Number 1 restaurant.....

Four of us ate at this restaurant at the end of July. They had all relevant social distancing in place and it felt like a very safe environment. The food as always was top quality. Fabulous sauces and really tender meat. The waiters are really professional and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend you try this.

We ( 3 of us ) were so pleased to be back out in a restaurant for the 1st time since lockdown rules were relaxed.It was well worth the wait.Easy to distance from other diners due to the slightly different layout so we felt very comfortable.All courses of food were so fresh and tasty with wine and the usual few beers it made for a very nice evening.Our selection was Bhuna prawn on purée starters, chicken vindaloo, chicken dhansak, chicken tikka massala, egg pilau, Bombay potatoes and plain naan. All dishes were so good it certainly brought a few smiles to our faces.As I say each time I review, the staff are friendly, smart and attentive. Not much more to add really.Thursday evening is a bargain time to visit for the cheaper banquet menu, exceptionally good value with no corners cut on portions or quality. Actually superb value really.We will be back in the very near future.Well done to the restaurant staff for tackling the tricky issues very well.

We had a takeaway it was brill. There was plenty of food and it was really delicious. Would’ve liked more chicken/less sauce. But it was fab.

Absolutely superb. Best Indian meal in years. Can't recommend highly enough. I would recommend this restaurant to even the most concerning customer.

We went as 2 couples and we all had different main meals and enjoyed the food immensely. There were subtle flavours in all of them, unlike so many curries in other places where an overwhelming hotness overrides the subtleties of a good Indian meal. We decided as we left it was definitely a restaurant we plan to return to.

Fantastic food service and atmosphere the best! If you want something that's not on the menu just ask and they will try and do it for you!

We regularly eat in the Aramee and always thoroughly enjoy it. Huge menu, excellent staff, lovely environment and the service is excellent even when they are busy. Easy to eat gluten free too as the menu is so huge. Would recommend it to anyone.

Booked a table for Valentines Day expecting it to be busy. It was! Food and service were fantastic. Love coming here - such a warm welcome from everyone.

Went for an evening meal with the kids and I couldn’t fault anything. The service was friendly even when faced with an excitable 9yo, and food was delicious, would definitely recommend and will be going back.

Ate here loads and always been spot on, but not tonight. I only live 3/4 minutes away but all the takeaway was stone cold when I came to plate it up. Now we all can get it wrong but this is where it gets really poor. Rang up to politely complain and they were blameless and somehow this was possibly my fault! If you get it wrong it's simple, put it right. Don't just dismiss your customers comments with a couldn't care less attitude.

Lovely welcome from the staff, very attentive and helpful. Spotlessly clean and comfortable seating. The food was well presented and tasty, obviously freshly prepared. A vey enjoyable meal.

We be been to the Aramee in Prudhoe a few times now and its always spot on. The service is excellent, and the food is delicious! Definately reccommend!

I’ve been coming to The Aramee for many years and have never been disappointed. For starters, the Bhuna Prawn on Puree and Sheek Kebab are my regular favourite starters, followed by Chicken Dupiaza or Balti Chicken. All washed down with a cold pint of Kingfisher.

The food in this restaurant is always excellent with the chef using the freshest of ingredients. The choice is wide and the staff are always pleased to offer advice on all of the dishes. The staff are all very personable and courteous. The owner is always on duty and makes everyone welcome.

Used to come here a few years ago,food was consistent and nice! Unfortunately we were left disappointed with our latest meal!

Got a takeaway from here on the 2/3/18. Been wanting to try this place for ages. I wasn’t disappointed by the flavour of the food generally but not impressed that in a full size portion of curry to only get 4 pieces of lamb was very annoying. Didn’t take long to just be left with a carton of sauce. Don’t think I will try this place again.

We visit this restaurant many times each year. It never lets you down. My brother travelled 20 miles and his girlfriend 25 miles to eat out with myself and my wife. They were not disappointed, in fact Judith mentioned it was the best dish she had ever had and gave the restaurant 10 out of 10. I have to agree the night we had our meal, the food was perfection. All of our choices were so tasty and well presented. Well done to the staff. They are always professional and efficient. How other restaurants cannot create the same service is beyond me. Look after your customers, be attentive, smile and have a bit chat. Simple. The Aramee does this so well. You must try it as I am sure you will love it.

Probably the nicest Indian food I've ever tasted. The staff are very friendly and helpful, best thing is they are only situated 3mins from my home and whenever you go for a takeaway you can have a drink whilst waiting, like that. Restaurant Is probably the cleanest I've been in. All in all excellent and couldn't ask for more.

I️ recently had my first visit to Aramee and I️ will say this is the best experience I’ve had at a restaurant in England thus far. I️ occasionally travel to England as my husband is from Prudhoe. I’ve been taken to several places and this is my favorite so far. The service really blew me away , the staff was so attentive , I️t was exceptional . The food was delicious, fresh and full of flavor. To start we had the Pickle Tray which was light and tasty. I️ recommend this dish if you don’t want to get full before your meal arrives. For my main meal I️ had the Chicken Tika with Pilau Rice. The dish was perfect I️ ate all of I️t . I️ also tried my husbands Podina which was excellent . You can adjust the spice level to your liking , you just have to mention your preference when ordering. I️ also had a small tasting of my friends Lamb Jall joull which again was excellent. I️ really can’t say enough nice things about this place. Excellent food , excellent service , excellent atmosphere. I’m getting hungry just writing about I️t ! Can’t wait to come back .

As our friends live close to Aramee we go for a meal with them every few weeks. We always receive a warm welcome from the immaculately dressed staff. The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean and serves delicious value for money food.

El equipo de la casa de enfrente era amable, acogedor y nos dieron excelentes consejos menú garantiza que el chef no hacen platos especialmente suave para los novatos para platos no en el menú para la comida gourmet. Todos pasamos una noche estupenda.

Really nice place great staff great value. Do specials on a Thursday which are great value but value good all the time. Nice kingfisher on draft as well. Bhuna prawn starter is amazing ended up getting it as starter and main one time. Really recommend this place

Takeaway was lush, ready on time and staff very polite. First time having Aramee takeaway, food tasted fresh and delicious. Will definitely be back.

Went with a group of friends on a birthday, the meals were pre booked but this didn't roll over to the service.Waited an hour for the starters and they got those wrong, then the wait and the wait for the mains was unbearable so we all left...they seem to deal with walk ins and takeout customers well though....won't be going back

This is both a restaurant and take away. The food is gorgeous however you decide to eat it! Excellent service, clean, modern wc facilities, licensed bar and an ambient atmosphere - what more could you ask for!

Initially visited to get a takeaway but after seeing the gorgeous interior we told the manager that we were going to go home, get dressed and come for a sit in meal. The atmosphere is fab, the selection of drinks was brilliant. Our food was absolutely outstanding, the quality was perfect. The service was also brilliant, a young lad served us who hadn't been there that long - maybe a month, and did a really good job, making the effort to chat to us and make sure everything was perfect. Planning to go again ASAP. Don't miss out. The price was a bargain!!!

My first visit and unfortunately not a dine-in experience, though I have eaten at the Brassiere at Seahouses which I'm aware is owned by the same chef and that was a terrific meal.The waiter I approached at the bar was delightfully friendly, after a bit of banter he wanted to make sure I was comfortable while waiting for my meal. Ordered the vindaloo with rice and a naan bread, the price was spot on at under £10 as it turned out to be quality food. Didn't even have to wait long for it.The food... gorgeous! The rice was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned, something which must be hard to do as so many kitchens get it wrong The vindaloo was a potent yet complimentary blend of spices to the lamb tikka, definitely one of the hotter vindaloo's I've enjoyed and I did enjoy it. Will look forward to my next visit.

Just back from an evening here and it was beautiful, the whole place is immaculate including the staff. You can tell they take pride in everything they do!We all had the banquet and were absolutely stuffed, so much so we took a doggy bag home.We drank ice cold cobra beer, with beautiful tasty food. As always food is outstanding at this restaurant, Azmol and his team provide such a good service. We have been going to Aramee for a number of years now both for takeaways and to the restaurant and we have always had lovely food. Would highly recommend this restaurant and the prices are reasonable too.

Over the years I have tried a variety of dishes from both the restaurant and takeaway menus. I have never had a problem with any of the food. It's has always been delicious .My husband is very particular and for him to never have some criticism is unbelievable. I can honestly say he has never had a proles with this restaurant. The food is excellent, the staff friendly and the price is great. Well worth having a meal .

We have been to Aramee many times with friends on special occasions. Every time we come the food is delicious, and the service is great.

Visited with friends on Thursday and we were given a very warm welcome; tables are beautifully set out with fresh linen, cut glasses and fresh flowers, hence the 'Home from Home' feeling; the Bangladeshi/Indian menu is extensive with some dishes differing from other restaurants of this style. Our party of four decided to try the Thursday night Special Banquet at £10.95 per person; this includes poppadoms served with onion salad and raita followed by our choices of two sheesh kebab, onion bhaji and King prawn bhaji (£2 extra to include king prawns) they were all good sized portions served with side salad and raita, beautifully presented; we were asked if we were ready for our starters after finishing the poppadoms and if we were ready for our mains after finishing the starters, which we thought was a nice touch, we waited a while before asking for our mains of two lamb dishes and two chicken dishes, it is possible to choose duck (£4 extra) or king prawns (£5 extra) if you wish; there was a choice of two rice's or plain or garlic naan and we chose two rice and two garlic naan, the side dishes were one between two and we chose lentil daal and mushroom bhaji; the food was hot and delicious; as part of the banquet it is possible to have either coffee or ice cream, two of our party chose the coffee, one of our party chose a mango sweet from the main menu (extra) which he declared as delightful! There is Cobra on tap that we all chose but they have an appropriate wine list and other drinks to chose from. Excellent! Highly recommended and we will not leave it as long to return

Called for an early evening meal (6pm), on way to see a Theatre show, fora quick meal with family and as usual did not dissapoint, I explained to the manager we would like to be in and out about an hour and he obliged. The quality of food was still top class as was the excellent service. For a fantastic experience at a locel Indian restaurant, you will be hard pushed to find a better.

Everything about this Indian restaurant is great. The service, the restaurant itself and of course the food. Six of us all chose from the banquet at £13.95 per head. This included a starter, a main course, a rice dish each and a side dish and nan bread between two, also coffee or tea. Although the vegetarian dish that was preferred by the veggie was not in the banquet they were happy to include it. It's definitely our favourite Indian restaurant the only downside is that it's very quiet and therefore sometimes lacks atmosphere.

You often miss the good things that are right under your nose. I've used this place on and off for years, for both take away and sit down meals and I've never had a bad meal.I went down last Saturday for a meal with my son. As always the linen and presentation of the restaurant were spotless. There was a pleasant buzz from the other diners and the background music was just the right level.We shared a Kebab Bahar starter which was cooked perfectly and full of flavours, with some lovely fresh salad. Mains were a Lamb Saag and a Lamb Biryani. Both dishes were served lovely and hot, and were both excellent. It was my first visit for a while and it lived up to its usual high standards. As a side note I've had several takeaways from here over the years, and the food has always been of a high standard and the order has always been correct.

We visited Aramee for a family meal and have to say I was very impressed. The staff are friendly and inviting, the food is delicious with plenty of choice and the atmosphere is great. My son has a nut allergy and the staff went out of their way to make him a meal to suit him which I was very pleased with, nothing is too much trouble for them. 5 star little restaurant in my opinion.

As a treat for my son and his girlfriend we decided to eat once again at the Aramee.As it was a Thursday evening the set menu with lots of options listed was what 3 of us chose, and at £10.95 per head it is really good value. We all chose prawn on purée starters which were full of flavour, very nice. 4 differing main courses were ordered and all where superbly executed by the chef. All dishes were oozing with flavour and spice, excellent food, with the accompanng rice, Bombay potatoes and nan breads adding to the great dining experience.Service - as good as ever with well mannered polite staff, and even though you think of them as our friends, they manage to be professional with a brilliant balance of humour and chat. You must try this restaurant, you will not be disappointed, in fact you will love it.

Called in on spec on Friday night to find the restaurant quiet however the service and food were excellent so it's well worth a visit! I'm not a gourmet curry expert so went for a standard lamb pasanda with mushroom pilau rice which was delicious. The service was warm and friendly and found ourselves chatting with the waiter about the latest movies!!! If you're in the area give it a go!

One of the best Indian restaurant/take-outs I've been too. The food and staff are always excellent. Love going there with friends and by myself. Like the idea of being able to have a drink whilst waiting for your takeaway!

Very pleasant evening at Aramee as an evening out with our Curry society. Standard of food was very good, well spiced and very fresh. Staff were very helpful and attentative. Reasonably priced (poppadoms, starters, mains, rice, naans, desserts and a couple of drinks each about £30 per head). Only 4 stars. Would have been 5 but Chicken was a bit tough in 2 of the mains and waiter was pacing around our table staring at us to rush us out as we were the last ones in. The acid test is would we go back - DEFINATELY.

ordered a collection on sat 9th Jan 2016prawn sagwala was perfect and lovelyTandoori king prawn masala came as a few large prawns in a tub of tepid coloured water, ( nothing else ) it was dreadful, and was poured down the sink !!both the 2 different sorts of pilau rices were cold and so was the nan bread.This is the first and last time Aramee will get my business.

It was quite quiet the night we were in (a Friday at 6.30pm) and so we were served immediately. The menu was good and our food was nice. It wasn't brilliant but it was nice and what we couldn't eat we asked to be packaged up to take home. The service was good, quick and attentive and the restaurant and loos were lovely and clean.I thought it was quite expensive but overall we enjoyed our evening.

We went to aramee with friends from scotland .the decor is excellent with lovely cutlery and glasses. The food is wonderful and the service is very good. The waiters are very polite and helpful. Altogether a great experience which I would recommend to anyone who loves Indian food.

Wow - what a find - we normally head to Corbridge but found ourselves in here because Franco's (upstairs) was full. Fresh and delicious the lamb rogan josh was so tender and the spinach was still green (u know what I mean!) loved the bread (roti?) - will definitely go back and the children had chicken and chips (sorry!) thanks so much for accommodating them so effortlessly. Loved it.

Visited Aramee on Thursday night with work colleagues and opted for the Thursday night special 6 course menu for £10.90. Although it was a set banquet, there was plenty of choice, and the portions were good sizes - but understandably the veggie options were bigger sizes. The food was tasty and piping hot and not over-facing like some curries can be. The only issue was that you have to have a side dish 1 between 2 and either rice or naan. I don't know if your party was an odd number in your party how that would work. The restaurant was busy and had a good atmosphere - would definitely recommend booking a table if there are more than 2 of you. A good night with lovely food!

It's not often you find somewhere where the food and service are excellent. Aramee's delivers on both fronts. The food is excellent with a wide choice of dishes for the not so spice adventurous to the very adventurous spice wise. Along with the great service and very polite and helpfull staff as well as the very reasonable prices, its definitely worth visiting. Only down side is not all the dishes available in the restaurant are available as takeaway.

Dined here with friends recently and we were disappointed by the blandness of the food.Since "Eastern Spice" closed Aramee appears to have become complacent with the lack of competition and the food they serve reflects this.....a biryani that was 80% rice with a few shrivelled up prawns,an overcooked black rimmed egg and totally lacking in the required spice and flavour.The service was so-so and we won't be returning in a hurry believe me!

We've been in numerous times since they opened both to eat in and take out. The food never disappoints and the service is always friendly. Just a shame they don't deliver!

Very comfortable and well set out restaurant for the New Years Eve customers. Quite a lovely warming atmosphere was created with just the correct amount of balloons and fancy ribbon adorned to each table. A great set menu was on offer which we had picked some weeks previous via a menu card given to us by the manager. Starters of salmon, bhargies and a couple of mixed platters were all devoured with gusto, very tasty indeed. Mains arrived in a timely fashion, varying dishes of lamb, chicken and prawns, all extremely flavoursome and amply portioned. Again very very nice food served impeccably by the friendly and efficient waiting staff. A credit to the restaurant. Drinks and desserts were also met full on, and again prompt service here as usual.A great night had by all within a very comforting restaurant with service second to none. Very very good experience.

45 mins for the first course to arrive ... The food was good but no better than other Indian restaurants I go to ... I wouldn't consider it a reasonably priced place to eat either... I wouldn't go back

My first visit although I've lived within 3 miles for over twenty years. I've certainly been missing out and will return for more wonderful Indian fare very shortly.

Excellent food. Vast menu. Great service . Good value, would recommend set menu, as you can in fact choose any main course . Tables beautifully set with white linen, real flowers and crystal. Staff were very welcoming and efficient. A first rate meal at avery reasonable price. ,

I decided to give a local business my custom as my family and I decided to have a take away meal. My husbands favourite is Chicken Korma the rest of us decided to have Chicken tika Masala with extras including Nan bread. We were lucky if we got six pieces of chicken in each meal the Korma sauce had no taste and was very very watery. Chicken tika was all I can say yuck and the nan bread was hard. We did enjoy the onion bahgies . I rang up to complain and all I got was it was a busy time when we ordered wee should have ordered earlier. I do not like to be told what time to eat., and busy or not at their prices you expect an edible meal. I shall not be going back and will return my custom to the Indian Take aways at either Crawcrook or Winlaton where you are gauranteed a decent meal with pleasant service.

Until recently had only had there takeaway which is very good. Paid a visit to the restaurant with my granddaughter and had a superb meal. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating from arriving to leaving. Good food and good surroundings. The company was, of course , very pleasing. A good night out.

My Mother, Step-dad and I visited this place on a Saturday night at around 9:30pm. Wasn't too busy. A few tables in there. We were greeted at the door, asked if we wanted to just wait for a second whilst they prepared a table for us and then seated us at a well presented and laid out table.We were handed menus and a wine menu. The menus are extensive and well put together. If you're not seasoned in Indian or Bangladeshi cuisine (like me), finding something that sounds good s hard because you have to read all the descriptions of the dish titles to know what it's about.We ordered a small starter of popadoms and dips which was lovely. The 5 dips that came with them were very nice. The spicy one was great! Spicy, but you could actually taste all the different flavours.I had Karahi Lamb for the main. It claims to be medium to hot but I found it very medium although, once again, I am NOT seasoned in this type of cuisine. I might try something a bit hotter next time. But the lamb was so tender! It melted in my mouth! All the flavours in the curry were brilliant and I absolutely loved it all! The pilau rice was a little cold but I decided that it was fine as the curry was VERY hot. Some might like it to be much hotter.The waiters were very friendly and polite. Had a bit of a laugh with them as one of they mistook me as somebody who works at R U Game (across the road) to which I said "I don't work there but I guess that he must be a pretty handsome looking guy!" :DAnyway, we received a warm farewell and went home.I'll definitely be back! :)

The service and surroundings here were excellent. I thought the food was on a par with similar restaurants in the area, but my partner, who has lived in the Middle-East for many years and visited India several times, complained that it was far too sweet and didn't taste anything like it should. As this is a criticism she levels at almost all local Indian restaurants I imagine they are catering solely for British tastes and paying lip-service to the concept of "authentic". That said, I quite enjoyed it, but then I've never been to India.

This is the best Indian restaurant in the area, the service is of the highest Standard, and the food is fantastic, you must try this place.

We visit or get a takeaway from Aramee at least once a month because it is such good quality and value. The staff are also very pleasant and friendly. Definitely the best Indian in the area!

For dependable quality, friendly service and an extensive menu we always come to Aramee. They do the basics very well eg lovely fluffy nan and big juicy onion bhajiis. Tandoori dishes are lovely and everything is done with great fresh ingredients. I can honestly say that in well over 20 visits to Aramee both takeaway and sit down we have never once been disappointed.
