El Fuego in Swansea

The food and service we received today was wonderful… True old school, done properly Steak medallions and chicken croquettes WOW . Can’t wait for my our next visit

We turned up with out a booking, they said they could help us out 👍We had a booking in cattle and Co and they turned us away because they had run out of food. We will de going back to this Spanish restaurant again.

We had a booking for 8 people on Saturday 6/1/24 and turned up at 7pm to find the whole place in darkness and closed to business - needless to say we were not impressed no message to say booking cancelled and we had to find an alternative restaurant to carry on with our celebration

Dissapointed as we booked online but found the place to be closed on monday 8th of jan after the website stated that the restaurant was only closed on tuesdays.

Came for Bojoulias day, great set menu with lots of choice and great value for money. I had the deep fried Brie followed by Spanish seafood paella and it was beautiful. Great service really attentative staff. We will be back, Highley recommended.

The food there was very delicious. I ordered lamb shank and beef ribs. It was very delicious and at very cheap price I ate a lot. I recommend to try once and you will be amazed. The staff was very friendly and very fast.

We turned up as they were opening and asked if they had a table and glad we did. The food was excellent, the service friendly and professional, with an overall welcoming atmosphere. If we were back on Swansea we'd certainly go again.

No complaints at all. Waiters are more than attentive! Food was amazing. Amazing value for money, 2 courses for roughly £22 I think? For £60 we had 2 starters, 2 mains & 2 drinks each!!

We visited for lunch literally because it is 50 yards from the Vue cinema and we travelled to Swansea to watch a film. The restaurant was busy and we were pleased we had booked ahead. We opted for the set lunch and ordered meatball and chicken liver pate as starters and parmesan chicken and buttternut tagine. All was excellent and presentation was also very good. The staff were friendly and attentive and it was so convenient for the rest of the afternoon as it is also adjacent to parking. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and will be back. Be aware they are closed on Friday lunchtime as we intended to visit the following week.

Let’s start with the positives - excellent attentiveness and service. Nice & convenient location and well designed seating. I honestly was puzzled by this restaurant as it has Spanish branding and a world menu. I was hoping for Spanish tapas, or Spanish food of which there was little. Maybe look up a typical menu from a seaside town restaurant in Spain. I went with as close as possible ordering croquettes, the taste and texture was good although the leek was a Welsh twist maybe. Paella, not the best and not the worst add some, mostly mussels, one prawn and a couple of tiny scallops, that I could define. A strange and unnecessary parley oil dressing around the outside (I was offered potatoes as a side, which is distinctly odd (carb on carb)? No Spanish dessert a Catalan warm custard similar to would have been a nice and cost effective offer, so I tried the fudge cake which in fairness was nice & moist) I would always expect an offer of cream/ice cream which I requested and was provided. I looked for Spanish wine and there was only a red Rioja by the glass? My thoughts the food is typical of an average modern offer. Service excellent. My thoughts research your offer and do one thing really well. If you are a Spanish restaurant, be Spanish.

Last time I went to this location it was an Indian resturant. Looks like much of the staff are the same. However everything else has changed. The decor is good, setup of tables is customer friendly. Food was pretty good, and certainly value for money. I had meatballs to start, and they were a bit bland, the tomato sauce with cheese was tasty. We has a fair spread of starters & mains, 2 of us had paella .. While the salmon was good, there was a shortage of the paella, appreciate there was plenty of salmon., and potatoes. I had ordered Beef Ribs … minor description issue, you get a single beef short rib …not ‘ribs’ The beef was good though, had been long & slow cooked, with a good sauce. The beef medallions were also well received.

Don’t let the outside decor put you off, this restaurant serves delicious food at a reasonable price. Highly recommended for the Welsh lamb and vegetarian food, which is limited, but very good. Well worth a visit!

From start to finish the atmosphere was great & the service is very attentive. You must try the paella as it is amazing! I had that to start & Lemon sole for main course. The sauce with the sole was very tasty & the mussels were cooked to perfection and tasted of the sea which I love.
