Lovely local family owned and run bistro. The staff are attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was bouncing as there was an 80th going on at the same time 🤣. Food was perfectly prepared and so tasty! Well priced (especially as my sister paid for it 🤣). Keep your local businesses open by supporting lovely little establishments like this. Highly recommended 👍🏼👍🏼

Excellent meal for 10 people. We booked our food in advance and were served drinks on arrival and starters appeared shortly after. Food was excellent and well priced. Parking behind the building was very handy. Definitely recommend.

Whilst the service was faultless and the food was tasty, I've marked it down because of the size of the portions of pasta main dishes. Specifically Penne Piccanti and it probably would have flown under the radar if it had been the lunch-time offer but it's not available at the weekends. It's not the first time this has happened but, at the time, I thought it was a one off. The Ravioli is also pretty sparse, made more obvious because of the huge parcels. I can't comment on any of the other non-pasta mains. We're all tightening our belts, therefore dining out is a treat, and as such the last thing to expect is to be disappointed by the size of the portions.

Went for an impromptu early dinner, first in the door but it deservedly filled up quickly. Exactly as promised, chic Italian bistro, fair prices, some creative menu items, nicely prepared good food.

This was one of the best experiences ever. From the excellent food, the fabulous service and the incredibly fun atmosphere, it was a night to remember! We spoke with many locals prior to booking Ficos, and heard that the food was excellent. After speaking with the manager, Carlo, we decided this was the right place to hold my mum’s 80th birthday party. We were not disappointed! Not only did every person clear their plate, but everyone enjoyed trying other people’s dishes too. From the rich array of entrées that were offered to the fun drinks to the cake that was arranged - it was amazing. Our party ranged from infants to 80 years old and everyone found something that they enjoyed. The restaurant team was amazing and went out of their way to ensure that we all had a great time. Service was on time, and the dishes were excellent. We know that they are great for individual couples and smaller parties, but this was amazing as our party was over 36 people. Again, I highly recommend this restaurant and their team for any event you may have or for just an intimate dinner for two. Thank you to the Ficos staff for making our night memorable.

Excellent food, the seafood pasta was cooked well and very tasty! My wife was pleased, the pizza was also very good ( we are Italian and rather pretentious about Italian food 😄) . I had a very good beef burger , well seasoned and with excellent bread and fries . The staff is very nice, courteous and very professional. Highly recommended!

I was with a large group. We were four people visiting from Canada and Ficos was recommended by a Scottish family member. I ordered the tagliatelle nomina. It was fantastic. Carlo, can you deliver to Canada, lol. Hopefully will be back someday.

Restaurant quality for a cafe price. I enjoyed everything here. The dishes were perfectly and delicately prepared (crisp sea bass skin with juicy meat and others), and extremely flavourful.

This restaurant is by far one of the best I’ve visited! If you're into Italian food, you've gotta check this place out. The dishes are super tasty, and the staff? Well, they're just plain awesome. You'll feel right at home. Can't wait to go back for more! 🍝👌

Really nice meal before 5min drive to the airport

Really disappointed with the food. The fish and prawns weren’t up to standard for an Italian restaurant, I expected big prawns that were deveined but they were small frozen type prawns and not deveined. Frozen chips 😩. Pizza was nice enough.

Food good. Place was very busy so had a bit of a wait. Staff kept us informed. Very echoey building could do with internal soundproofing.

First time at Ficos been meaning to come for ages, it really did not disappoint. The gluten free pizzas were out of this world! Nice relaxing environment to rest after work, will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu! Lovely place!

Been a good few times and always try to order something different. Carlo at front of house is absolutely fantastic at recommendations and has such always provided a great dish. Love the half and half as I can have half pizza half pasta. The ambiance is great as are all the staff and I will certainly be back again. Well priced, thank you all!

Popped in early on a quiet Thursday evening with my partner and grandchildren and we all loved the food. My grandchildren, who are fussy eaters, complained that the pizza was the best ever so they were too full for dessert, but they weren't going to leave any pizza!

Very nice pasta! Certainly worth a visit if you are looking for a good pasta dish. There are a few parking spaces at the back but they are usually full. The pastries and desserts look great!

Found this place on Google search for places near us to eat. We come from Somerset in England but were visiting my Aunty in East Calder so thought we would try this place. Lovely atmosphere and staff friendly. Food presented well. I had lasagna which was nice though alot of sauce around the lasagna and was boiling hot. Couldn't eat it for a while. Would come again though. Had lemon cheesecake for dessert which was lovely but could have done with a bigger portion

The menu was almost typical Italian fare on first glance, but anyway, we were shown to our table efficiently and quickly and were given our menus right away so we soon got round to ordering our drinks first and they arrived pretty quickly so we were off to a good start. I had some calamari to start which was very fresh and my absolute favourite dish of the entire 3 week stay in Scotland - ,the haggis ravioli. Words cannot describe how much I enjoyed this dish, it was simply outstanding! The white wine was decent and so was the bill at the end. Very enjoyable, mainly for the haggis pasta! We ll worth a meal out.

We wanted an italian dinner. This bistro was just what we needed. Good pasta, great steak dinner, and delicious pizza. We would definitely eat here again.

The place is legendary. The staff are always lovely and welcoming. The price for drinks and food is great. The atmosphere is lovely as well. I cannot praise this establishment enough. Me and my wife go there at least once a month for a date night.

Family-friendly, clean, welcoming place. Food is a superb blend of Italian and Scottish cuisine - yes, such thing exists and I have witnessed it: amongst the other dishes, homemade pasta + haggis + whiskey sauce is an unbelievably great combination. Service was fast and very friendly, the bill was low for the exceptional quality they offer. People are passionate about their project and for a good reason. Highly recommended!

A little gem in Kirkliston. The mussels are something very special. Pasta dishes are very nice. Just wish they would serve the mussels as a main....

This is our local bistro, and we have been there several times. The owners and staff are all lovely and are always very helpful. The food is lovely and generously portioned at a fair price. The building is light and airy, with a very high ceiling, so not exactly cosy. During the daytime there are usually a few young families in, so can get a bit noisy. Overall, a really nice bistro that I would recommend to anyone of any age.

It's a lovely restaurant and friendly staff. I do my best to support local businesses and the community. I'm a little disappointed, though I booked a table for Christmas Eve Lunch (a birthday lunch booked a few weeks in advance). We literally just sat down when we were told we need this table back for 3.30 pm! Really!! Whilst I appreciate it was Christmas Eve, baring in mind I had booked a table in advance. I thought it was rude... here's your hat, what's your hurry sprung to mind!! We felt very self-conscious of time and not to out stay our time we left well before the 3.30 pm deadline!! I started this review positively, and I am ending my review positively! The food is/was outstanding!

Impromptu visit here on Christmas Eve (spotted it whilst driving past) was a lovely surprise and we will definitely be back. Staff were super friendly and accommodating, especially with my two year old who just wanted to hug the manager 🤣 Food was really good, my husband had the carbonara and said it was the best he’s ever had. Now just to highlight he has eaten carbonara in a LOT of places and said it was cooked to perfection and the flavour was great. Pizza, macaroni and avocado toast were also lovely. Pricing was fair and in line with other similar places we’ve eaten. Car park is quite limited so would probably recommend on street parking. We will definitely return, thanks Team Fico!

What a gem and a delight to be found in Kirkliston. Get out of Edinburgh and discover this lovely Bistro/Restaurant serving high end food at moderate prices. We certainly will be encouraging all our friends and contacts to make this a place to eat. We had the Christmas Menu and it was brilliant - Italianised and traditional - unique! The scallops for starters were the best I have ever had served in a restaurant. I was brought up eating scallops and probably have a plate at least once a month. So credit due where credit due. The next two courses were equally as good. Service was excellent. Thank you.

Fantastic local Italian bistro. We regularly visit Ficos for lunch or dinner. The food is delicious, well priced, with lots of options to choose from. The staff are warm and friendly and offer a fantastic service even during busy peak times. Highly recommended.

Held a retirement dinner here recently and Carlo and his team could not have been more helpful. Everything went so smoothly on the night and I am so impressed that they got so much seabass so perfectly cooked all at the same time. Would not hesitate to recommend Fico's to anyone.

Popped in by chance after our original choice wasn't open. I won't bother with the original choice anymore - Fico's is fabulous! The place is bright, clean and had great music on in the background. Music did not drown out conversations either. Service was great, staff are friendly and they enjoy chatting to customers. Food came quickly, was well presented and tasty! Reasonably priced for quality and quantity. Can't wait to come back again!

Wish I had the option for 6 stars! Ficos provided the perfect venue for a retirement celebration meal for 30+ discerning diners. All 3 courses and 3 options offered on their remarkably well priced menu were cooked to perfection and presented beautifully by the skilled staff. Time flew and the staff generously let us stay long after they'd cleared the last plates. Can't recommend this wee gem enough. Thank you Ficos - we'll definitely be back!

Lovely food. Accomodating and friendly staff with Italian pop playing in the background. My wife thinks that the pizza here rates as one of the best she has ever had which would take into account having eaten in Italy. Excellent.

Ficos is our favourite Italian restaurant. It’s so friendly and hospitable. We are always welcomed and given excellent service. The menu has seasonal updates, with delicious dishes suiting different tastes and budgets. We are so fortunate to have this in Kirkliston.

Visited Ficos to hear the marvellous Enzo on Thursday October 20. We've been visiting Ficos since it opened and I'll admit I'm biased as they treat us like family. That said they treat everyone else like they're about to be family. I think we've eaten 80% of the menu and 100% of the drinks menu. We've had breakfast, lunch and countless dinners, and one thing stays the same 'the best service and food' (that might be two things...but you know what I mean). If you're passing through the Kirkliston/Queensferry area and want a great Italian meal look no further.

Wow! Ein großartiges italienisches Restaurant. Ein Weg hierher ist absolut lohnenswert. Es gibt eine sehr gute Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken. Die Vorspeisen, Hauptgänge und das Dessert waren frisch und sehr lecker. Die Inhaber und das Personal sind sehr zuvorkommend. Wir kommen sehr gern wieder 🙂

Had a good experience here today. Not a huge number of vegetarian or vegan options but we had tasty pizzas and classic deserts of a banana split and tiramisu. Service was friendly and easy going; attentive in a very natural way. This is a family friendly place with some parking at the back.

Very friendly and close to the airport

Hard to justify £12.40 for two slices of takeaway cake. I'd happily pay that price if sitting in, but I feel like I've just been robbed!
