Really fresh, delicious food and great service.

It's a nice place with a very tasty kind of food but it's too overpriced. We had 3 mezes, a broccoli salad and 2 main dishes and just refreshments and we payed about 62 eur per head. The food was really exquisite but still I don't think it's worth this price. And for those who plan to go there expecting that it's a Turkish restaurant, have in mind that despite the name it's not really Turkish I'd say it's more Greek. But of course this doesn't mean the food is not good :)

So OVER RATED. I mean good food is nothing without a good service. We ordered a steak £150 and they don’t give you any steak knife… it’s just pretending… I had to ask 3 times for mustard, the £150 steak doesn’t even come with a jus or a sauce … it’s basic … Pushy waiter. Disappointing place

This was my second time here in Hovarda, I was visiting from Madrid and the experience changed from the last time i went. I arrived by myself and I was waiting for my 3 friends. When they arrived they said they were in a reservation, it was raining and the security guy the hosts girls made them wait outside in the rain even though the lobby was empty, I had to stand from the table to pick them up and still the host girl said we needed to wait for another girl that was upstairs... Afterall the service from our waiter, I forgot her name but it was a new girl from Jamaica was amazing, she gave us good recommendations and was a memorable time. But then when we finished around 11:30 pm we wanted either to have a drink upstairs or at least see the place so if we come back, we know hows upstairs where theres the bar and music, and the host girl simply said no.. that we couldnt go upstairs to have a look, have in mind that this was on a weekday where the place was not crowded... In the end, beautiful place, nice food but the service was really bad. Is a shame that because of the bad service in the entrance, the amazing service from our waiter will not help to rate this place.

Great restaurant, amazing service

Very nice restaurant, large and comfortably furnished. We got a great table in the upstairs lounge. The service was 1A attentive. The drinks were very tasty. We ordered various things from the menu and everything was incredibly tasteful. Best Saganaki eaten there with truffles and honey. Incredibly delicious. The music was really great too. I'll be back.

Extreme prices for 1 star service and menu I don't usually give reviews like this, after 3 Thalassa cocktails I stayed in bed for 2 days. I am thinking of going further with a written report to the authorities. I do not recommend !!!

My wife and I had visited Hovarda for dinner & we really liked our experience. The food was great and service was very hospitable. Our server took good care of us & our meal/drinks were served promptly. As oppose to many reviews, we found the portion size for the mains very substantial - in fact both my wife and I got portion of our mains for takeaway. As far as value of money goes, it is definitley an upmarket restaurant with high prices so guests should expect a steep bill.

We had a nice experience with my friend for dinner, the vibe was great and the service was amazing, with a special mention for our waiter David. The +: the lounge bar area that transforms into a dance floor after 10 pm on the first floor. The food is good but a bit pricey, you deffo pay for the full complete experience! One of my favourite places for a night out in this area

My friend and I went for dinner and we got both sick afterwards. We both had the same food: crispy calamary, stone bass fillet and desserts of which I cant remeber the names. It is a shame because the service and atmosphere is good.

Went here for a dinner. Service was nothing to write home about. Food was average considering the prices charged. Dropped nearly 170 gbp on 2 drinks, 2 starters and 2 mains. The menu is very limited. The music was a tad too loud and overall the place feels like it's too cool for school. I wouldn't go back.

Food was good (but not very tasteful and almost cold when served) and ambience was nice but: waiter’s advice on wine seemed more oriented on price (saying that first price bottle is really not good; leaving us wondering why it is on the menu then) and after less than 2 hours, we were asked to leave our table within 5 minutes (then « ASAP ») due to another booking. We were never told that we had to leave for a specific time upon our booking or arrival, and a five min heads up is just not professional. Even more so when they had just served the desert. Would not go back or recommend!

Unacceptable shop, all he cares about is getting as much money as he can from you. Beware when it comes time to pay they charge more than double the price to 'tip' the staff. When we told the manager to remove it as it is optional he told us we had to leave, without even having our drink. I'm definitely not going again

Κάναμε κράτηση, προπληρώσαμε 50 λυρες,μας είπε ελάχιστη κατανάλωση 25 λύρες το άτομο. Όταν πήγαμε 3 άτομα εκεί μας είπαν ότι πρέπει να πάρουμε υποχρεωτικά μπουκάλι (350 λύρες) και αντί αυτού μας χρεωσαν 600 + για φιλοδώρημα στ προσωπικό. Όταν είπαμε στο μάνατζερ ότι δε θελουμε να πληρώσουμε το φιλοδώρημα μας είπε ότι πρέπει να φύγουμε από το μαγαζί.

Hovarda in SoHo was the dissapointment of our trip. In specific the lackluster baba ghanoush that then had an extra 10 pound charge for extremely hard sour dough bread. After management asked how the food was and being honest, the lack of response was disappointing. Ultimately for the cost of food, poor service, your money is well spent elsewhere in London… the only positive was our waiter, Jesus, who was warm approachable and down to earth. The saganaki was also unique and I would recommend them to continue that unique style. When we come back to London we will not be going back and will go to other better alternatives in the area, especially for the cost.

I went over the weekend for my friend's birthday and I have to say that Misha made our night!! Her customer service was impeccable, especially given our food allergies!! She went above and beyond to ensure that everything was up to standard and we were well taken care of through out the whole night. I wish there were more people like her. Professional, kind and trustworthy! Thanks again!

BALKAN ATMOSPHERES Dinner and after dinner in the Soho district. We chose Hovarda, a fashionable and trendy place that winks at Greek/Turkish culture. We are five. Let's go in. Definitely intriguing atmosphere, pleasant music in the background which will then leave the field free for completely different music. Our table is upstairs. First round of glasses. A Pineapple, a Cocorita (tequila based), a Chardonnay Kayra (Turkish label) and a couple of Champagne Blanc de Blancs. Even water, of course. We start with a series of appetizers. Three Seabass Ceviche, one Octopus Carpaccio and one Scallop. High quality sea bass ceviche, with red onion, capers and yellow tomatoes. Very good carpaccio, less exciting, but still of absolute quality. Another round of drinks. We decide to repeat the first round. Our dinner continues with a couple of baked sea bass fillets and two more roasted monkfish fillets. Completely convincing presentation and flavour. And, finally, a Roast chicken, a less inviting dish with roast chicken, graviera kritis, barley and corn. As side dishes, two (small) portions of Greek salad, green salad with barrique-aged feta (very tasty) and croutons with barley flour. We ask for the bill. The total expense is equal to 472 pounds which corresponds to approximately 551 euros. We are around 110 euros per capita, a decidedly significant expense, but it must be contextualised by considering some aspects, namely the type of venue, the very high quality of the raw materials and the possibility of continuing the evening until late at night. Meanwhile the music rises in decibels, downstairs a DJ with remarkable physique and artistic skills attracts our attention. People start dancing among the tables and the evening transforms.

Cena e dopo cena nel quartiere di Soho. Abbiamo scelto Hovarda, un locale alla moda e di tendenza che strizza l'occhio alla cultura greca/turca. Siamo in cinque. Entriamo. Atmosfera decisamente intrigante, una piacevole musica in sottofondo che, poi, lascerà campo libero a tutt'altra musica. Il nostro tavolo è al piano superiore. Primo giro di bicchieri. Un Pineapple, un Cocorita (a base di tequila), uno Chardonnay Kayra (etichetta turca) ed un paio di Champagne Blanc de Blancs. Anche dell'acqua, ovviamente. Iniziamo con una serie di antipasti. Tre Seabass Ceviche, un Carpaccio di polpo ed uno di Capasanta. Ceviche di spigola di altissima qualità, con cipolla rossa, capperi e datterini gialli. Carpacci molto buoni, meno esaltanti, ma comunque di assoluta qualità. Altro giro di bevande. Decidiamo di bissare il primo giro. La nostra cena prosegue con un paio di Filetti di spigola al forno ed ancora due Filetti di rana pescatrice arrosto. Presentazione e sapore del tutto convincenti. E, per finire, un Roast chicken, piatto meno invitante con pollo arrosto, graviera kritis, orzo e mais. Come contorni, due porzioni (small) di Greek salad, insalata verde con feta invecchiata in barrique (molto gustosa) e crostini di pane con farina di orzo. Chiediamo il conto. La spesa complessiva è pari a 472 sterline che corrispondono a circa 551 euro. Siamo intorno ai 110 euro pro capite, una spesa decisamente importante, ma va contestualizzata considerando alcuni aspetti, ovvero il tipo di locale, l'altissima qualità delle materie prime e la possibilità di proseguire la serata fino a notte inoltrata. Nel frattempo la musica sale di decibel, al piano inferiore una dj con fisico e capacità artistiche notevoli attira la nostra attenzione. La gente inizia a ballare in mezzo ai tavoli e la serata si trasforma.

It was a place we went to as a Turkish place and we were disappointed with the full meaning, the menu was also so limited that there were main dishes that were not worth the price at all, although the food was ordered, the drinks came too late, we listened to the dj performance and went for a slightly different atmosphere, but we almost fell asleep, the dessert menu came after dinner, and the menu had two desserts as a joke, and we also ordered from both of them, we ate a bitter strange dessert, thinking that the kadayif dessert, the food was so bad, and we left half of the table, and we were in a restaurant that was so bad that the person we paid £74 per head, I would have fun for 1 week instead of giving this money to a hobo, I don't recommend it in any way

Nous avons réservé à 21h45 et on nous a demandé d’être à l’heure sans quoi notre table serait redonnées. Nous avons attendu plus de 30 min avant d’être à notre table et la femme a l’entrée ne savait pas quoi nous dire. Un manager est venu avec un ton moyen en nous disant que c’était comme ça. Après discussion, nous avons eu un shot offert. Le repas était bon mais les tarif sont dingues. Le service est speed bref pas à faire!

The restaurant servers that we had were lovely and the food was good however the manager is insufferable and possibly the rudest I’ve ever encountered. The woman on the door felt the need to give us the once over for a dinner reservation—it was comical to say the least. I used to love Hovarda (especially for drinks upstairs) however I wont be going back. Judging by other recent reviews it seems like this place has really gone down hill. If you fancy a night of hostility over hospitality then this is the place for you.

What a disappointing experience… We went there on a Saturday night, we had a reservation (mandatory if you want to be able to eat here) and we arrived on time. Unfortunately, after more than 30 minutes of waiting, we still did not have our table. And nobody seemed to care about us! As a “present” (because I got a little angry) they offered us a few starters… that they wrote on the invoice at the end and tried to make us pay for!!! Globally food is okay but not unbelievable, the staff in the restaurant is cool but everything is very expansive (food very expansive for really small platters, wines incredibly expansive for poor quality)…

I visited Hovarda last weekend with a friend. Music and vibe is usually great however, this time was different as friend and I were both overcharged for our drinks. I ordered a £17 pound Negroni and was charged £25 (this is insane…). I didn’t say anything originally because I thought I was charged more to cover the cost of my friend’s drink but she was also charged £25 for a glass of wine…. She asked the bartender when she realized and he brushed her off rudely. This is completely unethical and the reason why I will not be returning. I would strongly recommend the business look into this as it’s not fair to paying customers.

Upon arrival I was greeted by the charming sight of a roped-off area and security guard that would be better placed outside a Revolution nightclub for teeny boppers. Nothing screams “fine dining” like feeling as if I’m about to queue for a club I have no interest in entering. The cherry on top was the delightful experience of being glared at by an uncommunicative pint-size bouncer who looked like someone had a wee in his Cornflakes that morning. Once inside, I had the pleasure of being treated to the eye-rolling expertise of the waiter, who clearly found my desire to enjoy a drink before ordering food to be a monumental inconvenience. Then there was the manager, who graced me with their presence to inform me that I simply must order immediately because, you know, they have other people to fleece – I mean, serve. After all, I had been enjoying my drink for all of 2 minutes. As for the food, well, it was fine. Nothing to write home about, but certainly nothing to rave over. The surroundings, on the other hand, were undeniably attractive – if you're into the whole "money laundering operation for Russian oligarchs" aesthetic. Hovarda is the epitome of style over substance. If you're in the market for rude waitstaff, a rushed dining experience, and food that won't rock your world, then by all means, this is the place for you.

Very sophisticated decor and good relaxed ambiance (although we ate early pre-theatre). The food was very pleasant and presentation was lovely, but expected more for the price - for the money you really ought to be being wowwed. The girl front of house was borderline rude and should possibly consider a career which isn't customer facing!

SCAMMERS. My friend and I went to the bar for drinks. I ordered a house white wine and she ordered a Negroni. The bartender charged us £24.40 each for our drinks. I’ve lived in London for several years and have been to many fine dining restaurants/fancy bars and a small glass of house wine has never cost that much. When I asked about it, the bartender said he only had one wine to choose from. At an establishment this big serving this many people, how do you only have one wine to choose from? And maybe you should have said this before pouring it and charging me? My friend’s Negroni was also £17 on the menu but yet charged her way more and had the audacity to ask us for a tip? Overpriced and rude service. Definitely doing a disservice to Greek culture. Trust all the bad reviews and take your service elsewhere.

Wir hatten einen lustigen Abend mit gutem Essen und Getränken. Der Service war sehr zuvorkommend und schnell. Unter den anderen Gästen gibt es viele, die nach dem Essen noch hoch in die Bar gehen um Party zu machen und dementsprechend angezogen waren. Der Dresscode ist also eher nicht leger. Auch wir waren später noch im oberen Bereich (in dem man als Gast des Restaurants auch ohne Reservierung noch einen Platz bekommt) um ein paar Cocktails zu trinken. Das Restaurant ist nicht günstig und da man sich alle Gerichte nach einem Sharing Concept teilt (und da schon was zusammenkommt), empfehle ich sich vorher die Preise anzusehen. So hat man einen schönen Abend ohne schlechte Überraschungen.

Disaster!!! Angelica one of the rudest hosts I’ve ever seen in my life! Racists and unprofessional on the door! Random cocktails and rip off! The only good thing about the place is music but too crowded!

It’s good food, although some of it was cold. Portions are very small and staff aren’t that great. The DJ and vibe are worth it though on a weekend night.

Music, atmosphere and food were really good. Wish there were more options in the menu. Service was a bit poor, unfortunately. Would like to come there for the music again.

What a shocking disappointment. The food in this restaurant does not justify the price at all. It was average at best. You charged £55 for two skinny pork chops even though the menu stated that it would be 500g worth of meat. I was shocked when the waitress brought over our food. I felt pressured to order hummus alongside our bread basket even though we mentioned to the waitress that we would be fine with just the bread basket. It also didn’t help that the menu was very unclear. I asked the waitress to recommend the best dishes but she was clueless and I didn’t understand what she was saying. She didn’t seem too inclined to help us. I will like to warn people about coming here to dine unless you want to leave with an extortionate bill while still feeling hungry.

One of the best service in London, our server was remarkable and so thoughtful. We loved the food and enjoyed every bite. The new decor is wonderful and the vibes of the place is so cool. It’s a favourite on my list and I would highly recommend.

Don’t really review much here but, this one goes out to the blonde woman at the door who wouldn’t let me in after coming all the way from NYC last Thursday night. She played it off as a super exclusive place when it was dead inside I could tell. If you’re going to be rude to me, I’m going to go out of my way to rate what this place deserves. #Overrated

If I could give the place a ZERO believe me I would! I’ve worked and traveled to many restaurants throughout my life and This by far is possibly THE WORST restaurant I have ever been to in my life. Where do I even start?? Firstly we were seated on hard stools with no back and a table that so low and dark and cold you could barely eat your food without dropping it everywhere. The staff were absolutely appalling! £300 bottle of champagne that was warm! And they couldn’t even be bothered to pour it for us even that was too much to ask…we poured our champagne and wine all night ourselves as the waiters were too busy chatting up the women at the bar all night instead of serving their paying customers. We waiting over an hour for some bread in a basket, which was stale. Then they got our order wrong and forgot my starter and my main course. To top that all off the food they actually managed to give us was disgusting…raw prawns, and soapy raw monkfish. But BY FAR the worst thing of the night was the vile managers, I called them over 4 times and each time they said they would be back over to sort something out and never returned, instead just ignored me and sent over some free shots as if that would make up for completely ruining my birthday celebrations.I pray that this place goes bust in the next few months because you don’t deserve a penny of peoples hard earned money, the sooner you shut down the better! I wouldn’t recommend this pathetic excuse for a restaurant to my worst enemy, Please avoid at all costs!

Blonde Lady at the entrance is evil, racist and rude. After making us wait in the que for 30 minutes, she demanded £1000 minimum spend for a party of 3 people (including myself). I was shocked. Then she said the place is fully packed ( which was a lie ) as she literally let a bunch of 6 girls and a 2 boys in front of me. Very rude, she shouldn't be managing a prison cell, let alone a club or restaurant. If the owner is reading this, you need to get a new manager and I appreciate you can't let everyone in, however there is tonne and a way without burning the bridge forever.

We chose the 3 course set menu at £85 per person, turns out you get bought out all the choices on the menu and you don’t get your own portions.. which is fine. However.. the portion sizes are soo small that we was sharing 1 chicken breast amongst 5 of us with a bowl of Greek salad (enough for 1 person), the service was awful to add on top! After the food we wanted to go upstairs to the bar/JD area- however after spending 3k on food and drink- they requested an extra £100 per person to be able to do this. Such an awful money grabbing place.. won’t be going back! Disgusting experience.

Kind of dark (subjective) perfect for me cause I was on a date. Drinks are just ok. Can be over priced but I guess they are going for upscale!

I had a wonderful experience last week, the staff was super kind and attentive, the food was great. Felt very well taken care of, especially by front of house.

This place has aspirations of mediocrity. Some of the food, when it finally arrived was OK, the rest of it dreadful. The service matched the food. The doormen (for a restaurant????) were aggressive and the upstairs area was just not comfortable and the music was odd at best. It is neither a nightclub nor a restaurant. Maybe the doormen were there to stop you leaving.

Absolutely dreadful. The service was bad, main courses turned up 15 minutes before the sides, the “bouncers” at the front door were incredibly rude, as was the blonde woman who I imagine claims to “run the door”. Why on earth you need that type of entrance policy for a restaurant is beyond me. We headed upstairs after dinner, the table offered to us was too small, a bottle of champagne was £200+ more expensive at the bar above than the restaurant. Genuine scam. Avoid at all costs.

you need to check how much they charge you at the bar, as people are using apple pays and its dark and noisy in the club. i just found out i was charged £59.14 for2 vodka and tonic, what a random amount they charged? and for a simple Vodka and tonic? that's crazy price they charged when a cocktail is only 16£ on their menu. they claimed that they didn't make cocktails at midnight so i asked for Vodka and tonic , paid it on my phone, didn't pay too much attention to it. i think they just key in whatever the amount they like since most people prob won't check... really cheeky i have to say! never ever return...

Came here with some friends and was very spectical as im a Greek cuisine purist. I left the restaurant truly humbled the dishes were incredible and still respected Greek traditional flavours. The vibe of the place and service were fantastic too. 100% on my list of top places in London for Greek cuisine.

However, the reception we received from two young ladies at the front desk was far from welcoming. They seemed judgmental and were quite rude, making us feel uncomfortable right from the start. To add to our disappointment, we were seated at a table near the kitchen, where my chair wobbled incessantly. We politely requested to be moved to an available table nearby, but the staff refused, even though the table remained unoccupied for more than an hour. The food we ordered was decent, but the non-alcoholic Mojitos we ordered were way too sweet, packed with sugar, and virtually undrinkable. Towards the end of our meal, I spoke to our waiter about these issues. Regrettably, he didn't apologize or attempt to resolve the situation. Instead, he swiftly collected our payment and left without addressing our concerns. As customers celebrating a special occasion, we had hoped for a better experience. Unfortunately, our visit left us quite dissatisfied. And when I emailed them they just sent me automatic sorry email

Honestly, what I have experienced at the door of that bar is unacceptable. The doorman and doorwoman very naturally told us that if we want to get in boys need to spend min 100 each, when for girls the entrance is free. And they were also kind of proud about it. It’s London, 2023. Your attitude is sexist and racist to the core. Never coming back.

Very attentive staff - great service, but very average food. Not worth the price at all.

We visited for drinks on a Friday night. The music was great and the staff serving at the bar were very efficient and friendly. BUT. I cannot not give a one star review after I witnessed an incident at the entrance where men were denied to be let in unless they agree to a minimum charge of £150 - while women would be let in with no issue. We cannot continue to support venues with such sexist policies - won’t be going back.

I went with my friends and we were doing the line for 40 min, when we arrive we asked about the entrance price and it was free. When we were almost going in a girl told as that we had to pay 100 pound each one to enter. We paid and it was totally deception, bad music, drinks with just ice and water, very bad attention. For sure I am not going back and not recommend to go!

Today 22 September, the blond woman at the door told us it was 100£ per person minimum spend, after we did 20 minutes queue. Reallly bad attitude and awful service 0 consideration. I will never come back again 👎 you should inform the minimum spend at the door. This bar is a scam WASTE OF TIME

We were stuck in traffic from an all day bus tour on our way into London due to an accident. I messaged the restaurant on the way on Facebook and got back an auto reply that a member of their team would get back to me shortly. I never got a reply so we called to let them know we would be late. When we arrived, we were looked up and down by the staff at the door and told they would "allow" us to dine with them but that we would not be allowed to the club. We literally only wanted dinner anyway and had no time to go change before our arrival given the traffic. Also the manager who made the "exception" for us was in a suit with white tennis sneakers... and once inside, we noticed multiple people dining in T-shirts and ripped jeans. We were both in collared shirts; their issue was we were in khaki shorts. They also made a big deal about needing the table back by 1030, which was plenty of time for us to dine anyway and did not need to be mentioned. The waitress was very nice; she and the food were the only nice part of our dinner.

Tiny portions for the price. £35 for the stonebass as can be seen in the photo. £12 for 5 potatoes is an incredible mark up. Weird stuffy ambience. Good place to take a client to make them feel like they are in an edgey restaurant when money isn’t a consideration. Wine however was good.

Music is a must. Food is really good. Can be a little bit long but staff is nice. We were on the waitlist for Saturday and we passed by the restaurant and got a table. Go to the bar after dinner it’s really a vibeeee

Went there for drinks with friends and from what I remember everything was amazing. DJs were really good, and the overwhelmed barman managed everyone's drinks like an octopus on coke! Would defo go back often.

The venue has of the best designs and ambiances in London. The food is even better than the venue. Hovarda is on the way to become a flagship restaurant of the Aegean kitchen. Crab Borek is a must try with a bottle of Raki...

I come to Hovarda often with friends and recommend it to a lot of ppl but tonight I was shocked at the service and security who were exceptionally disrespectful. Especially a person called ala who did not know how to treat his guests given that he works in the food and hospitality business. He ushered us rudely to the side despite explaining that we are regulars. Don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon unfortunately and I will not be recommending it to ppl.

Cool bar with really good music. Though the bouncers outside aren’t the most friendly people, as if they are trying to go with that Berghain way, so expect a chance to be turned away.

I ate here with a group of my friends & absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was such a vibe and the food was delicious. They had so many amazing vegan options and were very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone thinking of going xx

Had a really fantastic evening meal, cocktails and dancing at Horvada last Saturday. My son turned 18 and wanted to go out for a delicious meal (he is training to be a chef) so had open view of the kitchen, have cocktails and then clubbing – so research lead me to Horvada. It was great. We called earlier just to change our timings which worked perfectly. The staff, especially Ioannis who looked after our table – were incredibly attentive and helpful. The food was delicious (some meals quite pricy) and lots of different cocktails and then a birthday cake which was divine. Followed by upstairs for some fun dancing and a DJ Pavlos +1 who was also brilliant. Very much recommend….was a real treat.
