JP Destiny in Bristol, City of

Our group of friends sampled a wide range from the menu including the specials. Everyone was very impressed and enjoyed being in the restaurant. The chef and her hospitality team were welcoming. The price was very fair. We were impressed that each dish was genuinely home cooked, unlike so many restaurants these days . Many of us hope to return.

We love JP’s ! The food is great. The staff are very friendly. We’ve had a birthday celebration with a long table for 18 of our family. Celebrating 10 years of fine Thai food this coming October. We will be there! John & Sue

Went yesterday and was an amazing experience. Food was sensational and I’m not easily impressed. Was tasty and mega fresh too. They even cooked a Pad Thai for the wife not on the menu. Staff were superbly friendly and helpful and nothing was too much for them. This was our first visit and we will be back again and anyone wanting a Thai in Bristol you have to go!!! Only thing I’d say is that I think their prices are way too cheap. I would happily have paid 50% more for every item we had. For the quality and quantity the prices are very very consumer friendly. Thank you for an amazing night.

I wanted to order takeaway on an early Sunday evening when they are supposed to be open. The online order was closed for order so I rang several times and no one answered. We made plans to try this new restaurant and disappointed we couldn’t even go through the line to order. It was too late to cook so we had to compromise for another takeaway nearby that we wouldn’t have gone for usually just because it was already getting late.

I am Thai and i ve been to every Thai restaurant in Bristol. I am proudly to say JP destiny is the BEST. Very honest tasty Thai perfect portions highly recommended!!!!

We feel like we have found the most authentic Thai food in Bristol, friendly staff and genuinely excellent Thai food. We found ourselves discussing how authentic the flavours were and the menu allows for lots of different tastes. In our experience the cost represented excellent value and especially because it was an all round great experience.

Really enjoyed visiting this restaurant because the people who run it are welcoming and friendly. So I am especially disappointed that I can't recommend the food...but bear in mind this is one visit only and there are lots of other dishes to try so ill gibmve it another chance one day. It wasn't bad, it was freshly cooked, but it wasn't very interesting either and it cost about £15 for a thai vegetable curry and rice.

Went there for the first time today for lunch. OMG! The food was absolutely the best Asian food we've ever had. We cannot wait to go there for dinner soon. Highly recommended 👌

Not only do I always get delicious food here but today on this warm sunny day I had the most refreshing watermelon smoothie! I think I’m addicted!

Just enjoyed a fabulous meal here with my son and his girlfriend. Super tasty food with a lovely atmosphere. Very friendly service. We enjoyed the chicken dim sum and all tried each others mains (and then argued about who’s was the best!) We will definitely be back - can’t wait to try the chicken soup next!

Visited with family for birthday meal. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. It is very authentic; takes me back to holiday in Thailand. Particularly enjoyed Green curry and cooked it Thai spicy for us. Also enjoyed crispy chilli beef and pork with garlic.

Wait staff - good Food - OK Menu - International mess Website claims restaurant is open until 11. We were asked to pay our bill at 8:45. Change your website. The radio plays Smooth FM, which is . . . fine, but from 8 o'clock until we left, someone at the back of the restaurant started playing loud videos on their phone over the bland, sweet jams of Smooth FM. It's inexcusable when chav kids do this on the bus. It's absolutely mind boggling when owners of a restaurant do it while there are customers trying to enjoy a meal in their restaurant. I just got home & I'm just so confused as to why anyone would think this could possibly be professional or acceptable. I've traveled the entire world & never experienced such a thing before.

When ever we visit we get a warm welcome hence. “The whenever”. We call in as and when we have something to celebrate. Food is excellent waiting staff polite and not over bearing.

Very bad quality food, worst Thai food I have ever tasted in my life. Extremely poor quality. Woke up in the middle of the night with a severe stomach ache. Prawn crackers smelled of rotten poor quality oil. I am surprised some people like the food there. Very disappointing dining experience unfortunately.

Just had a meal at JP Destiny and it was fabulous from start to finish. Welcomed nicely and had a choice of tables. Choose the Oriental Menu set meal as it had a bit of everything. Each course was fabulous looking and so tasty. Really nice that the owner came out to speak to us. It's a must visit if you are in the Bishopston!!!!

We were staying in Filton and found this restaurant via Tripadvisor. We only booked about 45 mins before we arrived. The restaurant is small but the decor is good. We had the set menu for two and they allowed us to swap a couple of items for something of equal value. All the food was delicious. The sizzling beef and lamb dishes had loads of meat in them. The service was excellent. Would definitely go there again.

The food is ok but the service is dreadful and the prices are completely misleading, I was charged nearly £4 extra for a tiny bowl of rice to accompany my curry which was £11. When I ordered it I wasn’t told the rice was extra. Rip off so i’d say avoid

Me and my family (8 of us) had a wonderful meal yesterday at JP Destiny to celebrate my birthday. The food, service and ambience was amazing. We enjoyed every course from start to finish and honestly ordered too much (we were hungry and a tad greedy!!) Amazing BIG portions and flavours! Me and my family often go to The Downs and pass this fine establishment and it would smell absolutely amazing and we are so glad we finally had a meal as this will no doubt be our go to restaurant in Bristol for thai food in a restaurant or as a takeaway from now. Having recently moved to Kellaway Avenue we tried JP Destiny for takeaway to treat my overly fussy Chinese mum who’d been helping us move in. She has literally never been happy about an Asian takeaway for the 40+ years she’s been in the UK. Suffice to say she said the Tom Yun Kun Spicy Soup and the Thai Prawns in Chilli and Garlic (asked for extra spicy and hot) was the best she’d ever had here. That’s pretty high praise! The rest of us really enjoyed the food we ordered as well, Tempura was especially tasty!

We visited the restaurant today we are tourists from Spain, they did not tell us that there are no credit cards (broken according to them) we told them to make a transfer that we will get to the hotel, chased us with shouts on the street. Extremely disgraceful and shameful behavior, do not recommend!

Had a Friday night dinner selecting the Pan Asian and Oriental set menus to share between 4 of us celebrating our son's graduation. Fabulous selection of dishes, freshly cooked vibrant colours and flavours, in essence faultless.Friendly staff, comfortable surroundings and will certainly return and would highly recommend. Squid Tempura and Crispy Duck dishes were favourites.

First visit on Friday 6th August. Table for 4, apologised for being late due traffic congestion. Lovely greeting by the waitress who was friendly and willing to please all night. We ordered Spring rolls and chicken noodle soup to start. For mains we ordered Chicken sweet & sour, Chicken with cashew nuts, Crispy chilli beef and Prawns accompanied by noodles and rice. We had 4 beers and 3 glasses of red wine Total price £99 from memory. Great, great food with lovely flavour at a decent price. All in all a great night. Thank You and see you again very soon 👍

Just ordered a Sunday night takeaway for two (+ leftovers) and couldn't fault the food. Thai green and massaman curries both really flavourful, with a nice kick to the green curry without being overwhelming. The crispy chilli beef was outstanding! Usually I find non-curry dishes from Thai restaurants fall a bit flat but I will definitely be ordering the chilli beef again. I also thought the vegetable tempura was great - love the addition of asparagus which I hadn't had as tempura before. The barbecue rib also went down well with my partner. The only dish we weren't keen on was the mixed veg medley/stir fry, but this was a substitute as the pak choi was sold out, so probably personal taste that we weren't keen. It certainly didn't ruin our enjoyment of the rest of the meal. Food was ready quickly (about 35 minutes after ordering I got a call to say it was ready) and it was still hot after we drove to the restaurant and back - some takeaways seem to struggle with this! The serving sizes are huge, especially the curries and rices. At £53 I thought th amount of food was really good value. We were both absolutely stuffed and there are leftovers for at least two lunches tomorrow. Given that we eat big portions this was easily enough food for 4. Would love if JP offered delivery for their takeaways but we are close enough that I know we will be back even if we have to collect. They're certainly worth the trip! Also can't wait for the end of lockdown so we can visit in person.

I recently visited this restaurant as a large group over the Christmas period. The food was absolutely amazing, the service was great, very polite & attentive. I would recommend the Crispy Chilli Beef. Would definitely visit again

Somos clientes habituales aquí para comer y llevar, y nos gustaría recomendar este restaurante a cualquiera que esté buscando comida tailandesa de calidad increíble. Diría que Prawn Pad Thai, Prawn Panang Curry son nuestro plato favorito, también una chisporroteante carne de frijol negro, pollo kraprow y sopa Tom yum. El menú para llevar tiene un 10% de descuento si paga en efectivo. Solo desearía que todos pudieran probar su increíble comida que se cocina con ingredientes frescos como en ningún otro lugar.

This is a lovely little restaurant, we went for thai food in the evening and the food was delicious, service was friendly and very efficient. It's a little bit pricey for an out of town restaurant, but the buffet breakfast they do for £9 seems excellent value and we'll be popping back to try it out!
