We ordered a take away from here, it arrived cold, bland, tiny portions and full of inedible frozen vegetables. We were expecting bold flavours and textures instead we got bland stodge. It was incredibly expensive, we will not be ordering from here again.

Small, simple place serving decent (but not exceptional) Thai and Malay dishes. The menu's descriptions sounded a bit more interesting than our food turned out to be. It was OK, just not very memorable. Service was a bit variable on a busy Friday night but alright overall.

Hate to leave a negative review…..but, this was a Sunday takeaway collection, for beef red curry, egg fried rice, pad Thai and some corn cakes. The food was awful. Could make a better red curry myself, the pad Thai was bland stodge. Th egg fried rice looked completely un appetizing. It was a Sunday so may be it was the chefs night off. We will not be returning. Expensive for the portion sizes too.

Noisy, more like a waiting area than a restaurant! I booked a table but was not told it was a busy takeaway with scant organisation - delivery drivers and people queuing haphazardly. Gave up and asked for our food to go. Left after 30 minutes. The food was awful, smelt like it had been cooked in a drain - went straight in the recycling bin. Will not be returning any time soon.

Have moved to the area at the end of 2019 and have finally ordered from here. Being a big lover of Thai food it was lovely to have a place so close to us and with excellent ratings and it lived up to those too! We ordered two lots of rice, two chicken dishes (cashews and a chilli and basil one) and some veggie spring rolls. Sadly we ended up getting two lots of the cashew dish but it wasn’t a big issue, these things happen now and again. The food was amazing! We will 100% be ordering from them again. Also really friendly staff and an encoring atmosphere.

We ordered take out from here, not for the first time, and were not disappointed. We had satay chicken skewers to start followed by the chicken Pad Thai and a Massaman curry with coconut rice. The pad thai was very good but the Massaman is the best I've had outside of Thailand. It's not the cheapest Thai around but it's certainly worth paying a little more. We highly recommend!

Me and a friend paid £35 (not including delivery) for this takeaway, we got the sharing starter (£15) and the lamb yang (£17) and steamed fragrant rice (£2.90). The starters were obviously bought in frozen and all completely overcooked, the lamb was a single (tiny) steak which had been sliced up, bearing in mind it was £17 the only other thing with it was some lettuce and a small pot of poor dressing. No marinade, no seasoning, nothing. Massively overpriced, hugely disappointing and probably the worst takeaway I’ve ever had. DO NOT DO IT. Siam smile? More like Siam frown.

After having plenty of awesome meals and takeaways, oh what a disappointment! Friday night takeaway - bland, uninspired, plain - new chef ??? The Prawn Green Curry was liquid with a few naff vegetables, 5 overdone prawns and no real taste. Everyone else was similarly disappointed - AVOID FRIDAYS! Plenty more Thai in Brizzle - up the Gloucester Road next time!! Only gave it a 3 because it used to be awesome!

This is local to us so have been eating in and taking away for the past 8 years. We have never had a bad meal, staff are great, food is great and we love a takeaway from here as it's different and better to your standard takeaway options. My only advice to offer would be menu variety. After 8 years a change would be very good. Even it if was a swap around with the starters.

Since moving to Bristol we have struggled to find a decent Thai restaurant in town. This was well reviewed on TripAdvisor so we decided to give it a shot, despite its slightly out of town location - it's actually nearer us and on a bus route and spitting distance from a good pub! Booked a table and glad we did as it got busy (Friday night). We both really enjoyed our food. I had the steamed dumplings and then the Thai red curry with coconut rice and both were delicious. My husband had soup and then the Malaysian curry and also really enjoyed his. The staff were polite and service was good. My only comments would be that food didn't all come out at once and it was a little on the pricier side but I really enjoyed it and would definitely return. A really nice little Thai.

We had the £6.95 set menu. Food took a long time to arrive as everything was on one plate - starters, mains and rice. Vegetable tempura consisted mainly of onion rings. Bizarre! Green curry was ok though. This place has the potential to be better - more smiles and some friendly chit-chat would go a long way.

I visited Siamsmile with friends who were visiting from Ross On Wye. Following a long work day I decided to take them out for something different and a place you could walk past and not know its there. Hidden in a rank of shops is Siamsmile on Church Road between Redfield and St George. As we entered the restaurant it was quiet so we did manage to get a nice table. We ordered satay chicken and tempura oak for starters and Massaman lamb curry along with Thai Green chicken curry with coconut rice. The food arrived and my friends were very surprised at the quality and taste of the starters. Well prepared and presented. The plates were finished off quickly and as we waited for our main courses to arrive we asked for any additional drinks and to see if everything was okay - a nice personal touch. The mains arrived and again the food was exquisite. Restaurant quality food but at take away prices. All plates were virtually licked clean. I've been on a mission to find Bristol's best Thai this Summer and am thrilled to inform you that this humble restaurant in St.George runs away with the honours. It's the real McCoy: deliciously authentic, thoughtfully prepared Thai cuisine that is a great credit to its home country's culinary heritage. It saddens me to think that Thai restaurants such as those in Clifton serving average big city Thai chain fair heave with customers while the true flavour experience is to be had several miles east and somewhere far less obvious. So I urge you to help me put amends to that and get on you bike /train/bus, or car to SiamSmile. Bristol finally has the Thai restaurant it deserves. And don't worry about remembering the route. You'll know it by heart in months because if you like SE Asian food you'll be returning to it a lot.

Looking at the menu there is quite a choice of Thai food of which I am no expert so I went for the Thais Fish Cakes as a starter and a Thai Spicy curry with chicken and egg fried rice. This is a great Thai restaurant which for some unknown reason, we haven’t visited in quite a while but were happy to find that it had not changed one bit since our previous visits. The décor is minimalist and it is quite a light, bright restaurant providing a small amount of covers which allows it to maintain its high standard of cuisine and which affords the diner the luxury of being able to hold a conversation with your party and hear and be heard.Unable to choose from the varied and vast menu, we went for the easy option, the set menu, the Chaopraya River, this set choice offers an excellent selection of traditional and authentic Thai dishes which was, from the mixed starters through to the delicious (and spicy) soup to the variety of meat, fish and vegetable mains, a menu that was well balanced (with the right amount of seasoning and spice) and each dish complemented the other perfectly. The set menu is a rather large menu for 2 persons and we did find ourselves struggling by the main course dishes but this is not a problem as they are more than happy to bag up your leftovers and we enjoyed it as much the following day.The restaurant was fairly quiet when we dined but we were the first through the door on the that evening (on opening) and I am in no doubt that, having been around as long as they have, they would have picked up and packed out later. This is a very good Thai experience with excellent quality food at very reasonable prices.General service and table service is very good and food service prompt. The wine list was small but, like the food, very reasonably priced and overall this was an excellent meal and well worth a visit. Hopefully, we will not be leaving such a long interval before our next visit and we are looking forward to a return visit.

What a very pleasant surprise finding this lovely Thai restaurant tucked in the suburbs of Bristol.I phoned and reserved a table and I'm glad that I did as it was busy .The Thai staff are lovely and chatted with us about their beautiful country of birth. The starters mains and drinks arrived and tasted great. Will visit again next time we are in St George's

This is my second (or maybe third) review on this place over the past few years. I like it here...it's very unfussy.....the service is always friendly.....and the food is bloody delicious. Yes there are more fancy places that you can go.....but here the food talks over the décor.

Hi I love Thai food and so have high expectations. I had take away with my brother who loves this restaurant. We had the MIXED STARTER Included : Pork Ribs, Thai fish cakes, spring rolls, Sesame Prawn on toasts and Mee Krob. Which was Ok but as it was take away could have been hotter ( temperature wise) and wasn't that crispy. fish cakes were spicy which was nice. I don't think the Mee krob is for me but my brother ate it all. I also had the TOM KHA - Chicken which was really nice - again could have been warmer, I should have put in the overn to make nice and hot. for the main I went for the: GHOONG PAOW (Grilled large fresh water Prawn, served with spicy green sauce). Which was again well cooked but the sauce in my view was hot - it seems to have a not heat rating. The price was also £29 which is quite pricey compared to an Indian.Would I order again - yes but would probably go Thai green curry and single starter.

Have eaten from this restaurant several times and have never had anything bad to say! The food is delicious and never disappoints. I would definitely say this is one of the best Thai/Malaysian restaurants I've eaten in, and one of the nicest restaurants in Bristol. I will continue to return to this little hidden gem for a long time.

Found this on trip advisor but walking towards it wondered if we had done the right thing. However it was lovely. The waitress was efficient and charming and food wonderful. Portions were large and well presented. The menu was limited in choice but then it was a small place but overall fab night with great food and great service.

wonderful restaurant that i couldn't believe was only half full on a Saturday night. Food was simple and that is meant as a compliment. Nothing flash just tasty. I had the jungle curry and my wife had the sea bass. Definitely value for money and will be back.

Just ate here and omg it was amazing!!! I struggle to find a decent Thai green curry anywhere! There is usually always something wrong, no taste, too thick, too oily! But this place served it perfectly!!! The peanut dipping sauce with the skewers was lovely but I wanted more! Next time I will be asking for more! Can't wait to go back! This place is a must for spicy food lovers!!!! Enjoy!!!!!!

My partner and I thought that we'd give the Siam Smile a try one mid week evening. Truly lovely fresh food beautifully presented with Thai plate decorations. Friendly laid back atmosphere. Reasonably priced food.

Just had Thai from this place for the third time. I must say it is the best Thai I have had in Bristol. It's so authentic, friends of ours who went to Thailand on honeymoon said they had the most authentic Thai food they've tasted in Bristol too! Would highly recommend them. The sticky rice is always amazing and all their food tastes very fresh! The only downside is they don't deliver. Otherwise, my favourite!

The food here is awesome, authentic, fresh and super-tasty: and a nice broad range with some unusual choices. The staff are just a delight, we never leave this place (and we go OFTEN!) feeling anything less than 100% happy. We've been to most (probably all!) of the Thai restaurants in Bristol, and nothing comes close to this one.

Most of the nicer sit-down restaurants in Bristol are downtown or in Clifton, but Siam Smile in St George is well worth the visit for anyone who likes Thai. Although there never seem to be many patrons, when I went recently the prawns and tilapia were very fresh, and both were excellent. My only complaint is that all the appetizers tend toward the deep-fried end of the spectrum. I'd like to see some green papaya salad, or something a little lighter.

I discovered this little gem by accident and as I love Thai food decided to give it a go about 2 years ago and have been a regular visitor ever since even though its not on my doorstep. Its an unpretentious little restaurant but the service is great and the Thai food in my opinion is some of the best in Bristol. The food is consistently fresh and tasty and you can ask for the level of spicyness that suits you.Unlike alot of Thai restaurants the food is not toned down and made bland to suit British tastes. Another plus is the food is actually cooked by Thai s (rather than by Chinese) which ensures the food is authentic. Dont be put off by the basic look of the restaurant as the food will not disappoint! My only small complaint is the lack of much choice of wine which is the only reason I haven't given it 5 points!

Total anti-climax... really disappointing meal with no flavour. Hot dish tasted the same as the medium dish, which was more on the mild side. We won't be returning.
