I absolutely love this place, the pizza is always so good (amazing crust!) and you always get loads of gorgeous toppings. The crispy fries are something else. Haven’t been in years but ordered for collection and everything was perfect. Thankyou!

Vaya, absolutamente encantado de encontrar este lugar. Súper auténtico, súper sabroso (masa deliciosa) y súper valor. Entré a la hora del almuerzo con mi hijo y sus ojos casi se le salieron de la cabeza cuando vio el tamaño de la pizza especial a la hora del almuerzo. Thin, crispy based and delicious pizzas. Not stodgy or greasy. Authentically Italian, just the right amount of ingredients. So enjoyable.

Not the original owners but still one of the best Italian authentic pizza places around.This place still uses proper Italian ingredients and does not try to overdo the toppings. They focus on flavour rather than drowning you with twenty ingredients and tons of cheese.They even use Calabrian spreadable spicy sausage - fantastic!

Not been here for ages, still the best pizza in Newcastle in my eyes, had the Geordie Pizza 12 inch, with spicy salami, onions, chilli and garlic. Base is thin and crispy and the ingredients are all fresh, will be back more often.

Our family visited here after searching for a good Italians to enjoy some pasta and pizza. The kids shared a pizza as we hadn’t long had lunch, me and my husband got Pasta and it did not disappoint, creamy thick sauce with good quality meat

It's the best pizza by far, I wouldn't go anywhere else now. Pizza is thin and delicious. Staff are friendly and efficient. Their hot chocolate is more like a hot choc pudding you can stand your spoon in! Really good value and I would be happy to pay more then the £2.50 they ask for at lunchtime for a slice as they're massive. Faultless.

As described above it really is amazing. The base is perfectly thin with a delicious crust, the sauce is not too sweet but flavoursome and a perfect texture, the mozzarella is great and the buffalo even better! When the deal is on you can get a 16 inch margherita for 8 quid!!!Seriously go here you won’t regret it!Service is amazing the guys are so nice and they even have a loyalty card.My favourite spot for pizza

I adore the pizza from here that any other pizza places are simply out of the question, and the fact that they served us after closing time shows how willing they are to go the extra mile to please and feed their customers. Never disappointed by the pizza here - my pizza was delicious, as always. grazie mille!

We ordered a traditional Calzone which they serve as a slice when it’s normally a folded giant pasty, our fault! Really authentic sourdough tasting base nice ingredients but lazy on the tinned mushrooms, why not buy fresh?!?! We’ll give it another go.

Never had a bad pizza from this place. Been several times and is definitely the best takeaway pizza in the area. It does have a small sit in area as well.

Whilst I've had plenty of slices from the Grainger Market over the years, this was my first visit to their pizzeria in Benton. My wife and I both ordered N'duja pizzas with olives and onions respectively, and a garlic bread with cheese. I was told 25 minutes once my order was placed over the phone, and sure enough, the order was ready right on time. The 12" pizzas they serve here are much more traditional (Italian) than the New York-inspired slices that they serve at the counter. The dough is thin and tasty with just enough chew without being tough. The toppings were all tasty. I especially enjoyed the crunch left in the onions. As a *very* minor constructive criticism, in my opinion the tomato base could possibly do with a touch more seasoning, but I guess that's just personal preference. The garlic bread was also fantastic; for me the creaminess of the cheese balanced well with the fresh garlic. All too often it seems like I'm served cheesey bread, or garlic bread with tasteless mozzarella.Overall, very tasty pizzas at a very affordable price (2x 12" with extra toppings and a garlic bread for £20). I still think that Cals Own has the edge in terms of flavour, but that's partly down to the oven and the 'leopard-spotted' crusts. Given the price of the pizzas here, and the proximity to my new home, I'll certainly be visiting again (and again....)

I had a toto the other half had a Mexican.. As a lover of great pizza I have to say this is the BEST pizza I have EVER had. A delicious thin and crispy base, with a slight char on the crust which was puffy and delicious. The quality of ingredients were fantastic. If you want authentic pizza go to this place. Our server was very nice and Friendly too. I can't wait to come back here. An absolute gem.

Ok so its a Saturday and I'm looking through trip advisor for a spot of lunch it's 4pm, I come across this place and must admit the reviews looked great.Trip advisor states this place is open from 11am-9pm on Saturdays. I checked out the facebook link only to find a dead link but decided on the 7 mile drive to go and check this place out. On arrival the the menu board in the window was extensive and we choose what we wanted and entered into the shop where we were faced with two members of staff talking and one looked like he was working with pizza dough, before I could even utter a word we were told "Sorry were closed, we don't open until 5", I explained trip advisor said they were open, (bearing in mind we had just walked in, all the lights were on, we could smell food and the door was propped open), the girl just replied "Sorry" at which point we left.Im not sure how difficult it would have been for an open pizza shop to put a pizza in the oven, why would a business not want to take money from customers?Maybe they just didn't like the look of us or just could not be bothered?Bad form Pizzeria Italia such a shame. Won't be back.

Ordered a takeaway vegan marinara on a Saturday night with onion, mushrooms, olives and artichokes but was served anchovies instead of artichokes. Rang up only to be told that ‘the oven was off’ and that I could have a free pizza on Tuesday when they reopened to make up for it, although that did little to help with Saturday night’s dinner! Bad first experience but, anchovies aside, it did look good. Main disappointment was the poor customer service from the team who just said sorry and didn’t even offer a refund.

I had driven past this place plenty of times at Four Lane Ends. On a recommendation decided to try it and so pleased we did. It’s delicious authentic Italian pizza with thin bases, delicious sauces. Since then we’ve been a few times. I always get the vegan pizza and the family have tried a few of the others, we have never been disappointed with the order. Recommended.

Went here last night. We ate in but it does a lot of takeaway pizza. It’s proper authentic Italian pizza made by hand as you watch. Really thin bases. Absolutely delicious with a huge range of choices. Was thrilled to see it’s proper Italian, no ham and pineapple!! Highly recommend it!

Ordered a load of pizzas for a work meeting, lots of different toppings - all made without any mistakes, great tasting, smelling and looking for a good price, everyone enjoyed them. highly recommend.

Change of Ownership and had read some reviews therefore decided to taste and compare. The Pizzas we ordered tasted as good as previous Owners, this gives a massive "thumbs up" to the current Owners.Grandchildren gave them 10 out of 10.Staff were friendly and Pizzas were ready at agreed time.

Ordered 2 pizzas and garlic bread to take away, early doors last Saturday. We’ve not been since the owners changed about 6 months ago. The menus looked great. We went for a special which was prosciutto, ndjua and mozzarella which we added extra courgette to (approx 50p) and an artichoke & sausage pizza. The garlic bread was described as a focaccia base but it seemed the same as the pizza bases. The pizzas were both excellent. We did wonder if the high standards would continue, with the ownership change and were pleased they had. We’ll continue to come back here when we need a pizza fix.

This is what pizza should taste like. Authentic, affordable and delicious, it is the only place we get pizza from. A hidden gem and well worth a visit.

Usually pop here from work on Friday lunch time with a friend of mine. Have been coming here for a few years now and have always been impressed with the pizza's here.Recently we have been getting a massive 16" pizza to half between us and is very filling and tasty. There is a good selection of pizza to choose from. Probably the best place to happen at Four Lane Ends and very reasonably price. They also offer a takeaway service.Highly recommended

Finally i am getting around to review this place, i have been coming here for years now and have got to say that the food is amazing. Its one of the best places to go in Newcastle, and if you miss it you are missing out. I will be back soon! Thanks for all the lovely meals.

Been looking for a decent pizza in Heaton area since Cal’s Own upped sticks and moved to Jesmond. Too far and too rubbish parking to frequent now. After going to many a (poor) Italian and having shabby pizzas from them all I came across this gem. It’s a dowdy exterior and looks like a cheap takeaway, but it’s owned by “the Slice” and it is great. Really great pizza. Let down by terrible canned mushrooms (why!?!?) but an excellent pizza. Go here. Simply that. If the owners read this - please, please make more of an effort on decor and fitttings. You could have a great little restaurant here but at the moment is simply not appealing or conducive to eat. You even play commercial radio full of adverts. Please try harder. Your pizza is excellent. Celebrate it!

Ate a pizza from this establishment for the first time since it has changed hands. I regularly visit their other Slice place in the Grainger Market, when compared to there I was left slightly underwhelmed, hopefully when they've settled in the quality of the pizzas is akin to the Grainger market location. The pancetta and sausage pizza was far too salty, not completely inedible but I feel there is definite room for improvement.

This place is under new management and the quality of ingredients has dropped. We used to the love the authentic Italian ingredients and it was absolutely fantastic. However now the dough lacked flavour and the there weren't the same Italian flourishes as before. Two veggie pizzas cost £14 which is very pricey given the quality. Sadly we won't be recommending this anymore and probably won't return. Such a shame.

The pizzas are wicked, simple as that. Been getting the pizzas from here for quite a while now and have tried most of the topping options and have never been disappointed. Pizzas base is always on point with a nice bit of char. Orders are always sorted out in a timely fashion and served with a smile.

What a lovely restaurant the staff wonder fun. The food was cooked superbly and so tasty. The portions were huge .

Seen this many times passing, was surprised at how busy it was when I popped in, many people sitting enjoying slices of pizza and coffee, fresh pizza made to order, I order a few slices of margarita and a coffee to take away, the pizza slices tasted fresh, a good crisp base, really good quality, stunning, and all under 5 pounds.Also served by a "Stunning" young Italian girl who was smiley and engaging.

Visited pizzeria Italia for the first time the other day and have been back twice since! The staff are so friendly and the pizza is by far the most authentic Italian pizza in Newcastle, in my opinion nothing else in town compares. For the price, you can't beat pizzeria Italia, and I can't recommend this place more to anyone looking for an authentic taste of traditional Italian pizza.

Being an Italian who has been living abroad for the last four years, I have become very addicted to trying all the different Italian pizzerias around me, with the intention to find the best spot in town... I found it last night! Pizzeria Italia makes wonderful pizzas, full of fresh and very Italian ingredients, at 'Italian-friendly' competitive prices, in an easy but very comfy and homely environment. I couldn't recomment it more!

Highly recommended by a few friends so popped in for a menu and while there I thought I'd have a slice and drink while I was there . Lovely thin pizza , fresh and tasty Staff friendly . When I heard that the famed pizza stall from Grainger Market had branched out and opened a pizzeria I simply had to try it. I need to point out that I live 230 miles from Newcastle but for a good pizza the journey can be worth it! This place does not disappoint. When you arrive it is understated and authentic. Your order is taken in English and then shouted out to the pizza chef in Italian. You feel like you have just stepped into a pizzeria in Napoli except you are actually in Longbenton! How lucky I was! I ordered one of their “special” pizzas which described on a blackboard. A 16 inch chicken and pepper with chilli to takeaway. The pizza was large and good value at only £10.80. I started to eat this pizza in a lay by whilst I waited for my brother to finish work. I started with one slice and then couldn’t stop. Five slices later, covered in tomato sauce and with a large smile on my face I realised I had found pizza heaven! It took every ounce of my resolve to resist eating the other three slices that I had promised to my brother! The next day I was heading home but decided I needed to visit this place again even if it meant delaying my departure until it opened! I arrived shortly after it opened on a Saturday morning (11:30am). This time I ordered a 12 inch spicy salame, sausage and mushroom and also asked for anchovies. This time I ate in. Often when you revisit a place it just isn’t as good the second time but not this place! My pizza was truly delicious. Cooked to perfection with fresh ingredients and made to order. Scrumptious beyond description. I savoured each amazing bite and then commenced my 230 miles drive home fully satisfied! The only regret I have is that I did not order another for the road! All I can say is that whenever I am in Newcastle or anywhere near I will be visiting this place at least once! It is just that good!

So I was recommended this place from an Italian friend, who told me that this would be the best pizza I have ever had and He certainly wasn't wrong. Thin, crispy, fresh and flavoursome....and that's just the dough. Bang on some of some more traditional toppings and you have an absolute taste sensation! I regularly make a 12 mile round trip just for a slice. I'm pretty sure once you've tried it, you will too!

I often pop in here for a slice of lunchtime pizza and I am amazed there isn't a queue around the block. The pizza dough is so light and crispy with the toppings being equally as good. Don't drive by, pop in.

Called in for two 12" pizzas based purely on recent reviews and we were not disappointed in the slightest. We has the one roasted veg and one Capricosia (spelling?) with anchovies added as an extra. Everything tastes very fresh and flavoursome with friendly service. We thought they were better than Pizza Express pizzas (which we like) by a looooong way. Will be back soon....definitely.

These are original authentic style Italian pizzas with a great range of tasty toppings and combinations. The cheese is especially good and great value as well. Apparently they are updating their menu so looking forward to that!

Why go Rome when you can get an authentic Italian pizza cooked by an authentic Italian man and best quality ingredients in Benton. Just incredible taste, money well spent on quality food. Try the calzone! My all time favourite.

Been meaning to try a pizza from here for a while now, drove past many times and eventually parked up and went it tonight, so pleased I did this place is a gem! authentic Italian pizza thin crispy crust with just the right amount of fresh toppings, seems to be family ran (Mother cooking daughter on the till??) and this comes across in the food, no stupid gimmicks, stuffed crusts or trendy strange flavours just great pizza done properly , this is how the Italians do pizza in local cafes and its the best way, if your used to the chain pizzas do yourself a favour and get here asap

Get in with 15 minutes to spare, lot of vegi options. Proper pizza, not the £3.50 specials that really don't taste of much. Pomegranate & orange can of pop rather good as well.

Just finished my first pizza from there. Easily the best takeaway pizza I've ever had. As long as this place is open, I won't be going anywhere else.

Just literally left here and like every other time it was delicious. This time I opted for the ham and mushroom calzone and everything was fresh and lovely, looked to my left to see my calzone getting freshly prepared in front of me. Can't get better than that, it is tucked away at the end of a row of shops just across the road from four lane ends interchange so blink and you'll miss it. Was met by a young girl on the till who is always happy and smiling. Will keep on revisiting :)

Fresh, amazing, tasty pizza served by friendly people at good prices!I've eaten a lot of pizza in a lot of places and this is up there with the best. It's just a small, unassuming place that you'd probably walk past nine times out of ten. They sell slices as well as whole pizzas, and because the slices go so quick, everything is fresh. In fact my only complaint would be that sometimes (especially Fridays), it can get so busy that they can't keep up with demand. But I can forgive them that, to keep up with demand they would need a place three times the size!Seriously, just go and taste the pizza, you won't have any questions after that!

I only live a mile away from Pizzeria Italia and I didn't know about it until it came up on the TripAdvisor list and following my first visit today I can only say that all of the other superlatives written about this place are absolutely correct.It's all very basic, but that's good as they are sticking to what they know and doing it very well. There is a wide ranging pizza menu and as soon as you go in, you know it's going to be cooked to order and very fresh. We went on a Saturday lunchtime with a few people dining in, as were we, ordered a 16", a soda and an Americano and everything was perfect. Clearly real imported Italian products being used throughout and the pizzas were very well done with a perfectly cooked, light base, wonderful tomato sauce, tasty cheese and wonderful toppings.All of this and very price friendly too. The place is absolutely spotless, very friendly service and I can see that this will become a regular local place for me.

We had been recommended Pizzeria Italia on a previous visit to Newcastle and just ordered the plan and simple margarita, this time we had three different pizza's all very good! The daily special was particularly nice, artichoke, Italian sausage and olives. The mushroom pizza we had could have had more mushrooms on it, just a bit sparse, not a complaint just a comment! We will definitely return to try more.

I tried here after a recommendation and the pizza was lovely. A very busy shop for it being tucked away at the end of a row of shops. I ordered two pizzas to take out and il be back again. The staff are friendly and the shop is clean, prices are reasonable as well with lunch time offers.

I love the pizza here, it's delicious, you will find no better in Newcastle. The atmosphere is friendly and the air smells of pizza so you already expect some nice food. I got a plain margherita and it was so so nice. Recommended!

Well, looking at the location and size of the premises this shouldn't be great place. It is.This is now, the best pizzeria in Newcastle. Cal's Own in Jesmond gives it a good run for its money, but for me, this is the finest.The setup seems to focus on lunches and take-outs, with limited seating inside. It's a very informal, friendly place. You'll probably have to wait 5 to 15 mins whatever time you visit. Compared to most pizzerias this is pretty fast.The pizzas are very, very good. As with all great pizzas, the base is the real winner. It is very tasty, has great texture and a great bite. The tomato sauce is thick, rich and really tasty. The mozzarella is perfection - stringy, bubbling, molten and juicy.There is a surprisingly wide selection of pizzas available, or you can also make your own, in 12-16 inch sizes.Prices are around £7 each. I doesn't have a license to sell booze, but, providing you ask nicely you can BYO as long as you keep in mind it's a small, quiet family place.Pizzeria Italian is the model all pizzerias should aim for. It's got it all. Unpretentious, intimate surroundings, friendly staff, great espresso and pizzas to die for. Go there, just go.

I was told about pizzeria Italia only fantastic things, after trying yesterday i can confirm absolutely amazing, we had a 12 inch margherita, and 12 inch Mexican, went to Italy a few years back , after one bite transported back to the best pizza ever eaten, dont live locally, but worth travelling for, you wont be disappointed, amazing light base, phenomenal tomato base, fresh delicious toppings.

Amazing food and lovely friendly people. You get pizza as it should be from an immaculate professional kitchen. Highly recommend this family run business.
