Vegano in Newcastle upon Tyne

I can’t praise this place enough: The food is amazing and the staff are lovely. We first found Vegano on the Quayside market and were so happy when they opened the café. I would struggle to pick a favourite dish, but favourites include the kebab, house burger and chickn Milanese (pre-GF days). They have a great selection for gluten free diners too and they really know their stuff, which is always reassuring as I’ve been to a number of restaurants who don’t instil the same confidence. Even if you’re not vegan, you should give this place a go. It is truly amazing! And don’t miss out of the chocolate torte...I wish I could get the recipe!

We visited Vegano in May 2021 and what a find it was! Lots of options - pizza, pasta, burgers, kebabs and everything sounded delicious. We had the mixed kebab (which was huge and tasty) and a spaghetti carbonara ( a bit smaller but just as tasty). The biscoff cheesecake was out of this world. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town!

Came across this restaurant on Instagram. The pictures lived up to the real life food. The wraps are huge and so delicious. As are the cheesy chips and garlic chips. Best vegan takeaway I have ever had. The vegan cheesecake was unreal also! Will definitely be back

Quite simply the best vegan experience I have ever have. Food and service amazing. We had 2 pasta dishes and the katsu burger. Then 3 vegan desserts - all sensational and all home made (including the pasta sauces). Cannot recommend this enough.

Este lugar es fantástico. Servicio realmente amable y servicial, muy limpio, menú variado maravilloso y la comida era deliciosa. La mejor comida vegana que he probado en un restaurante. ¡La hamburguesa Katsu es genial y muy sabrosa! Los postres también fueron increíbles. Comida vegana sin ningún compromiso. Debes visitar por ti mismo. Hay un pequeño aparcamiento y un aparcamiento en la calle cercano y es un lugar que admite perros. ¡Perfecto!

Great food recommend the chickn Katsu burger with chilli fries, staff are great and place puts money back into animal welfare all great stuff

literally sat here right now, everything is beautiful, portions are definitely generous but not too big as to leave you feeling greedy! good music and friendly attentive staff, what more could you ask for :)

We are not vegan and had never had a vegan meal before but were hungry, looking for a brunch and decided to give it a try. I had the vegan version of the full English breakfast and it was at least as good as the non vegan version. Also it did not leave me with that slightly sick over indulged feeling I sometimes get with a cooked breakfast. My wife also enjoyed her meal. The vegan music was also excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful

Visited here with my daughter. The food was delicious the environment was clean and bright and the staff were charming. We will return.

I loved this little gem of a place, just a 10 minute walk north-west of the Rynek Glowny. The warm and friendly customer service was apparent immediately as the staff cared a lot about the food they offered. Their ciabattas are to die for, my personal favourite being the 'smoked tofu' with a full size sandwich only costing 16 zloty. The coffee and juices were also outstanding. A must visit for plant-based/vegan food in Krakow.

Twas famished and was desperate for a vegan choice food outlet, looked up on Google maps and BOOOOOM out of the food world cosy cafe atmosphere with smooth tunes. Waited on by a pleasant young lady with a refreshing manner, served with quality drinks, then BANG ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHINGLY SCRUMPTIOUS FOOD, I swear you cannot go wrong here, Kebabs with the lot, cheesy burger n chippies, mezze falafel and salad....Cannot say enough to emphasize how scrummy this is!!! A must for Everyone, thank you for this place, will be back

Popped into Vegano prior to a gig and wasn’t disappointed. We had the donor kebab and chickn kebab and it was not only a generous portion but beautiful flavours too. Well recommend and affordable

Acabo de llegar hoy para tomar un café y algo pequeño. La moca era encantadora y era un gran complemento para el sabor del café. Las salchichas y los muffins de huevo también son exuberantes, un gran bocado.

The title says it all. This place served up the best vegan carbonara I've ever had. Additionally, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant/cafe decor was nice. Lovely environment to spend a solo lunch hour in.

I'm fortunate enough to live about a 3-minute walk from Vegano and have been twice since moving here. Both times the food was outstanding. I took my visiting mom and nan here the other day and they loved it. The opening hours are not all week, but as the lady explained this is because they also run an animal sanctuary alongside the restaurant so if you do go here you will also be helping them out with this project which I think is fantastic. If you're in Newcastle whether vegan or not this place is a must go.

We have visited a couple of times now and have never been disappointed. Friends and family (vegan and non-vegan) have thoroughly enjoyed the food too.

First visit this week. Read previous reviews and lunch surpassed our expectations. Falafel mezze was delicious and beautifully presented. Staff were lovely and surroundings were comfortable and tastefully decorated. Will def be back.

I went to this place with a vegi friend. I'm a meat eater. The food was really tasty and very filling. I loved it. The owners were really friendly and the venue was great I'll certainly come back Thanks for a great meal

I promise you will not miss meat or cheese. We had the cheeseburger and it was truly scrumptious. Better even than most burgers containing meat and cheese. Nice place and friendly staff. Will return!

Visited this beautiful cafe for evening meal recently. Really fab food, service and ambience. Excellent value for money. The food is beautifully presented and the owners provide a really personal service, taking time to chat to the customers.We will be back! Plenty of parking behind the cafe too.

First visit yesterday (14th August 2019) and it won't be my last.

We had a lovely lunch here with great salad full of flavour. Pulled pork ( not pork ) sandwich also a great hit. Worth a visit. Cafe is just behind Holiday Inn Express

This vegan restaurant sets out to provide top quality kebabs, burgers, meatballs and hot dogs without meat. And it succeeds.

After a long drive and whilst we recovered to perform at a nearby theatre found Vegano and gave it a go!

I've visited the van at the quayside market a few times and the food is always a great naughty treat! The restaurant is even nicer, with more choice and tasty dishes, plus the staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the food. Even our non-vegan friend was impressed!

Amazing food, people and atmosphere! Everything about eating at Vegano is a dream, always worth popping in to grab a classic or a recent special!

Not sure how long Vegano has been opened but it's absolutely amazing. We've been for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We have enjoyed the food every time, and the portion sizes are generous. The only slightly negative experience is that upon visiting on a Saturday evening there was only one left of a few dishes, which meant there was competition as to who was getting the final lasagne!

I liked Vegano so much that I ate here 4 times during a 5 day stay in Newcastle! It's a lovely little vegan cafe/restaurant near the Discovery Museum with very friendly owners who go the extra mile. They serve breakfasts, lunches and early evening meals, plus tea/coffee and cakes. I loved the eggless egg mayo sandwiches, which come garnished with salad and Seabrooks vegan crisps - beef or prawn cocktail flavour! Will definitely visit again if I'm in the area.
