Prashad in Leeds

As a vegetarian It was so nice to eat at a place where I didn't have to worry. We had the couples tasting menu which was very reasonably priced and gave us the option to try many dishes. The food was outstanding. Plentiful and full of flavour. The signature cocktails are a must have and the service was awesome and knowledgeable. Envy the people who live locally. Will definitely will come back again when staying near by. We prebooked as we didn't want to miss out while in the area. There is a big car park and overflow. If you have mobility issues make it known in advance as the majority of seating is accessible only via stairs. Hats of to the chefs and staff, especially Sam.

Not your usual Indian food, an incredible fusion of Punjabi and Gujarati. Having been to some of the best Indian places in London like Gymkhana, Gunpowder, Cinnamon Kitchen and Trishna... I've got to say this was pretty special. What a northern gem. Well worth an hour's drive! We had the pleasure to meet Minal the head chef, incredibly passionate about flavours.

Very good vegetarian restaurant, which is nicely decorated. Mixed Platter starter was superb, Paneer biriani was a bit bland but OK.

Our first visit to this restaurant and after seeing it on the Hairy Bikers decided we wanted to see the place and celebrate our anniversary dinner together here. The service and courteous manner of all the staff was exceptional and cannot be faulted. The food in itself was a different experience for us.

The prices are so expensive and quantity is so less for the price. We visited with a 6 year old kid, the junior meal was not upto the mark, they served with rice, 1 piece of chapti with just very small portion of paneer curry, the curry was not sufficient for 1 piece of chapti itself, think how kids can eat rice? Those who running restaurant should understand and change this please. Some common sense would fix these kind of issues. We have ordered a maharani thali, the price is so expensive considering both quantity and the quality, the curries served with the meal not even 1/4 of the bowl, first of all the bowl itself was very small, and the food quality was not that great, they served dry rice etc.. for anything extra portion of curry there'll be additional charge. I was visiting from few years but wouldn't recommend for really food lovers. Just if you want to try vegetarian restaurant then you may think. It's a huge disappointment 😔

We were hoping to send a direct email to the restaurant, but we could not find the contact details on the website, which was a shame. This was our 3rd visit with friends, we have also attended a cookery course here a few years ago so we were keen advocates of Prashad. Unfortunately, this visit was spoiled with the putrid smell of urine at the top of the stairs and into the top floor of the restaurant. We were not sure if the smell was coming from the room at the top of the stairs or the ladies toilets but it was very strong and we could smell it the whole time we were eating. We mentioned it to one of the waiters and he asked if he should get an air freshener which was the wrong answer, it just smelt of urine masked with air freshener. These low hygiene standards are very poor for a restaurant with a reputation for great food. Please Prashad, keep your standards high and give the issue some attention before it puts regular guests off coming back.

Very very expensive. £17 for 3 lentil lotta is an absolute rip off the paneer was also £17. There is no justification to charge this for such small portions. There was so much spice in it I could not taste any other flavours in the dish.

Gorgeous food, excellent service, good value for money. Went for hubbies birthday. Had the fixed price menu. Started with a complimentary amuse bouche, rice dough ball, which was spicy and tasty. Popodoms and pickle tray followed , with lovely unusual pickles. Best onion bahjis I've ever had, and the chaat is amazing. Then a huge dosa and a tasty Thali. Pint of cobra. Excellent.

Been many times over the years and the food and service is always outstanding. Even the most die hard carnivore won’t be disappointed with the fully vegetarian menu!

We arrived on time for our reservation, our table wasn't ready so we waited about 15 minutes which was fine. We were not offered a drink during this time and when we asked for the drink menu the waiter pointed to another table of people and said go ask them for it. We were then taken to our table and ordered our drinks and food. 45 minutes later and still no drinks to be seen, we asked where they were and 5 minutes later they arrived. They had obviously been forgotten about and no apology for the long wait. We enjoyed our food, but unfortunately the service let it down. I don't think we will be rushing back or recommended to friends.

Travelled a fair distance to eat here and wow it was certainly worth the drive. Absolutely no complaints from us. Restaurant, staff and food were 1st class. Mona our waitress explained the menu and answered our queries suggesting the mixed curry plate. We were all blown away by the food ( all meat eaters who did not miss the meat at all )... If you enjoy good food that's certainly different from your traditional curry then this is a must. Thanks to all the staff, particularly Mona for making our evening so memorable. Lovely food. Delicately flavoured. Each dish different. We loved the Tali selection. A really good way to sample the range of dishes.

Very disappointed on my fourth visit. We were in, fed and out within 90 minutes. Our food was delivered so quickly that there was no time to taste it. None of the flavours came through as they were served one after another. Plus the dishes which needed to be served hot were lukewarm. Staff were delightful but they need to slow down in their explanation of each dish plus it was noisy due to being busy upstairs. I should have asked for a quiet corner so my friend and I could talk clearly. Mango lassi was delicious as were the onion bhajis but I am not too sure what else I ate !

We'd heard fantastic reviews and were really looked forward to our visit however we all found the food too spicy heat wise and therefore could not taste any of the other flavours. The presentation was fabulous - shame the taste didn't match. When the waitress asked if all was well I did say it was too hot, she asked if I would like some mint yoghurt which I said yes please - I was extremely disappointed the first thing the waitress did was go and add it to the till before bringing it to the table ! There were no heat descriptions on the menu and we were not asked our tolerance levels. Maybe our fault but for a restaurant with such high recommendations and reviews we all found it extremely disappointing.

Tremendous food. We had the starter tasting platter for two which is a great introduction to all of the deliciousness that is going on. This was followed by the Renghan Wattana and Chole curries with some garlic naan which were both amazing. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Lots of great reviews on here, and I hope that will be your experience. - not ours. Food was gimicky and overly hot/ spicey to make up for lack of meat. The aubergines were poor quality, making the cooked dish hard & tasteless. - worst aubergine dish I’ve ever had. We weren’t drinking but the drinks options looked great, I think the food needs this - so did everyone else in there. Waiting staff varied - from not caring to really attentive. Lack of consistency and authenticity is letting the place down, it’s lost what it became famous for and in my opinion is focusing on pulling in the crowd.

I heard about Prashad a couple of years ago and saw them on The Hairy Bikers which reminded me to book. I booked the taster menu for my fiancés birthday and it was amazing. Each course was very different but was explained what it was and how to eat it by the server. It wasn’t rushed and took 2 hours. It’s impossible to guess what the flavours are but the tastes were beautiful. We definitely will be back.

Lovely food. The Tali was great for a range of curries, starter, dessert and rotis. Everything nicely served and although the restaurant was filling up, we weren't rushed.

Wow, this really deserves all the praise it gets. I go to Bradford regularly for work and usually default to the city central restaurants, but this was worth the journey out. Rarely have I seen a fully vegetarian menu have so much variety and exciting things on offer. Everything we had as a group was delicious. The service was impeccable and bonus points for the excellent selection of craft beers on the menu. Why can't more restaurants put this effort in? Fine dining with exceptional balance of spices and flavors

Great vegetarian Indian restaurant with modern interior and friendly staff. A bit expensive for vegetarian and sometimes different dishes tasted very similar but great mixture of textures. Nice it also has free parking. Ignore location at busy junction it is quiet and peaceful inside.

I'm surprised to find that I didn't leave a written review so I shall remedy that. We've been to Prashad four times now. Three times as a couple and once as a family with my wife, daughter, son and his girlfriend. We have really enjoyed every visit. I've only ever been to one other Indian restaurant as good as this and that's now closed as the restaurateur retired (Hansa's in Leeds). The service is very good. The staff are attentive but not intrusive. The surroundings are lovely and definitely add to the experience. Best of all, the food is absolutely top notch. We've had the tasting menu three times and were very impressed. The only downside to Prashad is the price. It can be very expensive but we have never minded paying as we enjoyed it so much.

I had heard a great deal of good tjings about this restaurant before I went. Indian vegetarian cuisine is not very familiar to me and generally it was really good. Service charming and engaged without being overly fussy. Most of the food is quite spicy so be aware. Even some of the dishes marked M for mild were spicy. I suppose it depends upon personal perspective. My main course dish had balls made from an unidentifiable to me pulse and I thought they could have done with being more flavoursome to stand up to the sauce they were in. We visited to celebrate my son’s birthday, and had a lovely meal. We ordered starters plus one vegetarian and one vegan sharing platter between four of us, along with a bottle of wine and some water. The food is excellent - delicious, with unusual and subtle flavours - very different from the average curry house! The young woman who served us (along with some assistance from her colleagues) was excellent - professional, friendly and capable. I slightly resent having service added automatically to the bill, but they certainly deserved it. My only criticism is the charge for table water (£2.75 for a 75 mL bottle), which seems unjustified high - it was only at the third bottle that we thought to ask specifically for free tapwater, and could not taste the difference! All in all a good experience, but they should not get complacent: I think they have stiff competition from Lily’s in Ashton, who seem to me to be equally good and better value.

Saw this restaurant on a t.v. programme so decided to drive up, meet with daughter and hubby and try it out. Lovely night, we all went for the taster menu and no disappointments. Prashad is one of my favourite restaurants and my recent visit did not disappoint. I went with 3 colleagues. The team at Prashad are always courteous and friendly and the food is delicious. I asked for a mild Chole and it was perfect. My colleagues had the Thali and a mushroom biryani.. everyone was extremely happy with their experience. A nice restaurant, with lovely decor and good food. The menu had a great selection of dishes to suit all palettes. While the food was delicious, a few of the dishes needed refinement (e.g the chole needed cooking for longer, the rotis felt like they werent made fresh). Good food but not yet michelin level.
