Great service, a delicious food too the best cheese shop ever, I loved it. Thanks for everyone who worked there.

Amazing range of cheeses, friendly, knowledgeable staff.

I've popped into the cheese shop many times over the years either for a bite to eat or to purchase food. I "popped" in today to spend a small fortune on cheese and had a very poor experience. I was made to feel that my custom wasn't valued, I think the manager just wanted me out of the shop as it was near closing time (if you don't want customers in, lock the door!) Not to worry, I won't be visiting you again and I'll spend my small fortune on cheese somewhere else.

Good selection of cheeses and other snacks, staff either talk about haunted sheep and incredibly unfriendly to LGBT folk stay away if your queer or supportive, staff do nothing but make uncomftable remarks at checkout.

Great little shop. Lots of choice of cheese and deli products. Nice to sit in, even if you just want a coffee.

I had a great birthday at the Cheese shop. The staff were very welcoming and made a great Cappuccino. The shop itself has a great selection of cheeses and I would defo recommend it to fellow cheese lovers. It’s very clear how customer focused this shop/café is and that made the day great.

Extremely unprofessional manager. My girlfriend and I stopped in during a day trip to Nottingham to get a drink and charge our phones before the long train journey home, and shortly after sitting down, an older man came over and loudly berated us for using the electricity, and further berated my girlfriend for the fact that she happened to be carrying a takeout box from another restaurant. While a ban on customers using outlets is a bit strange for a café, I can understand it a little given the current electricity/cost of living crisis, however the way in which we were treated was incredibly rude and confrontational. Both of us likely would’ve been repeat customers to this place if we’d been treated differently, as we both greatly enjoy tea and cheese and they do have a good selection, but we are definitely never going there again (and I will be strongly recommending against anyone I know patronising this business, as well).

manager started trying to debate with me about politics totally unprovoked while i was just trying to buy cheese... started to belittle "my generation" while staff and customers looked on, made me feel very uncomfortable

A fabulous little shop. Helpful and informative advice, and utterly delicious cheeses.

The Manager/ owner needs to retire or leave. Have visited this place not very nice to his staff who are very pleasant. Coffee good though …….. However he was extremely rude to me today after I went to pay for an item that was clearly marked and he was going to charge me an extra £1.75 . I pointed out the price as clearly marked in case I had made the mistake. He strode over to the item where I had returned to check and I showed him the advertised price he ripped it off shouting out loud it wasn’t advertised as that now was it . Good coffee food cheese or not I will not ever go in again .

Their knowledge of cheese was outstanding. I purchased the mystery box so I can experience cheeses I would not have tried. Still added 4 other cheeses to it 😀

Son recently moved to nottingham and talks highly of the Cheese Shop so couldn't wait to come from stroud and visit. Manager very friendly and knowledgeable about where I came from. All staff super, 2 visits and £80 spent on fantastic goodies. Beautiful shop

The best place in Nottingham to have excellent coffee and delicious home made cakes. Primarily it is a cheese shop with a wide assortment of very good quality cheeses. Apart from this they have other delicacies which can make a very good presents on different occasions. The interior is cosy and the staff is very friendly. It is a must when you are in the Nottingham Market Square.

Five stars to the young staff members who work there, but I'm giving one star to the older man who runs the place. I was served by the loveliest young person and the other two were equally as friendly and efficient. I sat in to have my lunch, the older man who runs the shop came out the back and proceeded to "tell off" his staff members on the shop floor. He was belittling these young workers and had such a terrible attitude, he even accused one of them of something and said something along the lines of "don't lie, I wasn't born yesterday" . It was embarrassing to hear and witness, I can't imagine how the poor staff felt being degraded like this, on the shop floor with me and two other customers hearing everything. It was completely unprofessional, unessecery and you should've taken your staff members to the back and talked to them, but I dread to think what you'd have said if that's how you act in front of customers. I made a point to tell him this to his face before I left and was told "sorry" and I I told him "it's not me you should apologise to, its them", pointing at his staff. I won't step foot in your establishment ever again, I do not support bullies. I hope this review is seen by this man and that you start to treat and talk to your staff, who I assume are either on minimum wage/or not much more, with the dignity and respect they deserve.

Very poor Gruyere cheese. Tasteless. The worst I've ever bought. Gruyere should have a deep nutty taste and should be full of flavour. Dairylea has more taste than what I bought and incidentally paid an extortionate amount for. Very displeased. Gruyere cheese is one of the few things worth living for. You won't find it here.

Nice place, attention to detail is needed and less impatient counter staff. Coffee was nice and young ladies were friendly. Didn't have a welcoming feel and as such we didn't spend more time there. Good location for passing trade also.

A fantastic place, one of the gems of the city. The sort of shop Nottingham needs more of if its to become the sort of place people want to visit. The knowledge, expertise and friendliness here are second to none.

Can't fault it. Fabulous range of cheeses and Rob and Webb are happy to make a recommendation if you want to try something different. The small cafe serves lovely coffee and the food is very good and reasonably priced for the city centre.

I ordered a Christmas cheese delivery on line for 21st December delivery. When it arrived 14th December with only four days after Christmas use by dates I rang the shop. A rather rude gentleman became angry with me when I explained their mistake saying I shouldn't complain as it would still be eatable on Christmas day - he also said that they couldn't get the deliveries out any later because the delivery company wasn't working after that date. I found out this was not the truth as my friend who ordered at the same time had hers delivered on 20th. I shan't be using this store again .

I've literally just had a very unpleasant experience in the shop. I have a disability, and presented my disability proof to the lady at the door who was very polite about me not having having to wear a mask and having to be able to lip read my carer. HOWEVER inside the shop the the staf were making comments about us not wearing masks . I explained that I had a disability and needed my carer to lipread and physical support. But the staff behind the counter raised their voices about not wearing a mask. we explained we had at the door. But they continued with dirty looks and comments. So we put down the basket of goods and left. I feel this of disability discrimination is unfair ,unjust and disgraceful.

There are not many places with such a great range of cheeses and other great produce as this shop. However, neither are there many places where the staff members are so needlessly rude and aggressive. They’re cross if you want to actually see what’s there before choosing, sarcastic if you ask any questions, and volubly impatient if you say ‘er’ or ‘erm’ in a sentence. I don’t know how they can justify in their own minds being so unpleasant. Horrible experience. Don’t bother, there are other places to spend your money...

Just dropped in for a snack. Lunches are limited at the moment, but had a salmon and cream cheese roll and tea. Well presented and tasted wonderful. Staff very friendly and attentive. Much better than a burger! Recommended for light snacks, or purchasing speciality foodstuffs, cheese, cakes etc.

5 star quality and service. If it's cheese and they haven't got it, you can bet they can get it! Great range of delicious offerings in the intimate bistro area, and best of all... they stock Nottingham Brewery beer too!!

After hearing good things I was excited to bring my friend here for lunch and some cheese shopping! Unfortunately, overhearing the owners manner of speaking to his staff was embarrassing to say the least. It was totally unprofessional, even if the girl did something wrong he should have spoken to her privately. We bought the cheese we came for but left quickly to have lunch elsewhere rather than staying as we planned, it was far too uncomfortable to stick around and has put us off from returning.Hopefully another cheese shop will open in Nottingham so we have better choices than this grumpy spot

Absolutely love the cheese shop although we don't live in Nottingham city we visit the cheese shop regularly for lunch unfortunately at the moment we are self isolating but will be back as soon as possible goid luck and take care.

Siempre compro sugerencias y comodines cuando compro queso para probar cosas nuevas y quesos que tal vez no piense comprar, y nunca me ha decepcionado. Cuando no estaba seguro, siempre me ofrecieron probar el queso. He estado aquí varias veces y todo el personal es excelente. Vale la pena una visita si eres un amante del queso.

I was a little cautious visiting The Cheese Shop as several other reviews suggest that the staff are “pretentious” and / or “rude,” but my love for cheese convinced me to see for myself. I’m glad.The gentleman who served me couldn’t have been more lovely! I was a little overwhelmed when I went in because the range was huge. I didn’t know where to start! But after he found out certain things I liked, he suggested a few options and let me sample some to help me make my decision. I left a very happy customer. My only complaint is that this shop is not in my home town. Although maybe that’s a good thing... Will definitely visit every time I’m in Nottingham!

I purchased a selection of cheeses for NY eve, the staff were very helpful and gave some excellent recommendations. I can honestly say it was some of the best cheese I've ever had and I'm glad I took their advice. It's lovely to shop somewhere where the staff seem genuinely passionate about the product. The variety and quality of other items like chutneys etc. is also great. It's well worth spending a little extra here than you would in a supermarket.

Cheese and other lovely goodies

Call in by chance as everywhere else seemed full and i will go back there next time I am in Nottingham and I want a light lunch. I ordered a coffee and a cheese and ham granary roll. It was very tasty. The roll and filling was fresh and the cheese really tasty. If I have one complaint it would be that I had too much cheese in my roll but that is just my personal preference. The coffee was good. I found the staff to be very nice and chatty.

Fui a Nottingham con un amigo para hacer un poco de compras, sugirió que fuéramos a almorzar. Tenía un maravilloso granero queso y cebolla roll. El queso era tan sabroso que le pregunté al propietario qué era, él me contó todo de dónde venía y cómo se hace. Por lo tanto, terminé comprando una gran parte, no creo que el queso cheddar vuelva a tener el mismo sabor. Si puedo encontrar este lugar encantador nuevamente, definitivamente regresaré por más queso.

Vi a dos clientes visiblemente avergonzados como consecuencia de las fuertes burlas de miembros del personal separados hoy. Delilah también tiene una muy buena selección de quesos y carnes y un enfoque mucho mejor al servicio al cliente.

Maravilloso rollo de rosbif y camarones en maceta con bollos. . . ¡Un almuerzo ligero perfecto! La elección de los quesos para comprar es increíble. Quesos inusuales, muchos de ellos de granjas familiares. ¡Llevaría años probarlos todos! ! El personal es amable y conocedor y está dispuesto a dejarle probar los quesos antes de comprarlos.
