The Golden Fleece in City of London, Westminster

The Golden Fleece is a good city pub. Large ground floor area with another large area downstairs. Decent beers on tap. Visited on a Saturday so quite quiet like most of the actual city on a weekend. Suspect this place gets very busy on week nights. Nice pub. Recommended.

Great service and food and drinks were excellent.

Friendly and prompt service. Meal serve hot and well cooked.

Courteous bartenders, great vibe and an envious selection of brew make this a must do. Go early if you hope to score a seat.

Don’t go here if you’re American. Took 40 minutes to get our food on a not busy afternoon, yet 2 tables who came in after us got their food well before us. It was very obvious. We had steak sandwiches and they were mediocre. Most of the steak was fat and not edible. Plenty of other pubs who want your money and better food. I had made a reservation yesterday but didn’t need it because there were open tables. I sat myself after asking the bar and then cancelled my reservation because I was 30 minutes early (12:30) instead of 1 PM reservation which is why the booking was cancelled.

A nice pub with some excellent beers on tap. Also a few sports screens... perfect! Tables were cleaned regularly which is great but what ever they clean with is very sticky! Well worth a visit

Good food - nice atmosphere - service ok but starters came with mains all at once which is strange! Also as soon as you’d finished a plate they were whipping away from under you

A large city pub, still connected to its history. Big & squared, high ceiling with faux panels & chandeliers retain the feeling of City of London bank pub. Large central bar with open space throughout, a snug at the back and spacious outdoor street drinking space. Victorian pillars, quarter wood panelled walls and an exposed brick finished top. Large ceiling recesses add to the space and heritage feel with ample, coved and edged lines. Large square, original windows and vast sills for coats and bags. Plenty of visible screens for sport, good vibe music and a busy buzz.

Muy buen pub para ir a tomar unas pintas y un almuerzo. Vinimos después del free tour por la zona de la City, pedimos para comer hamburguesa y fish and chips, todo muy bueno. Estaba tranquilo ya que era lunes y pronto 14-15h. Muy recomendable

Came for a fish finger sandwich and beer at lunchtime. Hit the spot nicely and the service was friendly. Would definitely come back for lunch again.

Having been to the fleece once or twice over the years, I can confidently say it is very nice. Guinness is tasty and staff are very friendly. Would recommend it to anyone. The perfect London boozer

Lovely authentic London pub with a great beer selection

The staff were fantastic. Food choice good. Had the steak which was great, however, a little cold. Probably due to use of a "dumb waiter", as kitchen is clearly in the basement 🤣

Usually quite busy after work hours. Nice selection to eat and drink. Friendly service. Crowd is nice too. You have a bar downstairs as well, to hire probably.

I’ve been popping in here for a few months now, good service in London is hard to come by these days but these guys are genuinely exceptional. They clearly enjoy their jobs which is a credit to the business (or they are just very good actors). I’d highly recommend a visit, I haven’t had the chance to try the food yet but it always looks great

A lovely pub that serves good food, excellent drinks, and has exemplar service. The staff are all incredibly friendly and even during peak times are always incredibly quick and courteous!

Really gone downhill. Had a mineral water when arrived. Decided to have a cider after. Couldn’t taste the difference, but one was £6 more. Used to be a regular there, but moved away and been there a few times for old times sake. Now I wouldn’t go back. .

Standard City of London pub, even when it's packed they manage to serve fast. Fix the door lock on the loo. There's a hardware store next door. Really zero excuse.

Good little pub, good drink selection and surprisingly nice food, had 5 small plates deal, very tasty. Good place for a rest and refresh. Quiet when we were there but then again it was a Monday lunchtime.

A lovely place for a drink and some food. Recommended after work, it can get really busy. Staff are always happy to serve. Service quick and efficient.

I do wish they would serve all drinks in the appropriate glasses....but apart from that good service, a few TVs you can stand outside pretty spacious and good location.

If you want an authentic London Post-work Pub experience where 300 people stand in a crowd in and around a pub drinking £10 pints and £20 whiskey, trying to hear what anyone else is saying, turn up here on a sunny evening at 5pm.

Popped in here for a quick bite to eat on a break from a work conference. We had a fantastic time. The small plates are the way to go, we all picked a couple of things and ended up with a feast of picky bits to choose from, everything was tasty and hot. We then ended up standing outside in the sunshine for several hours longer than expected. There was an awesome beer range, all of the standard ones as a fall back but a couple of beers we'd never seen before, I quite liked the peach lager but my friend got some hazy pint, think it was called crush. All the staff were friendly and helpful, but in particular we had great banter (even when it was ridiculously busy) with the tall aussie lady, she is definitely the best bartender we have seen in London in a long time, speedy friendly and oh so quick with the witty comments. We will be back very soon. Thank you for for a fantastic summer evening.

Decent selection of spirits and beer. The place can get very busy quite quickly so on many occasions it is unlikely for you to get a table etc. Bar staff could be friendlier for sure!

Just went for a few drinks after work. Good service and nice pub. The only thing I'd say is it's rather loud inside which makes it hard to chat when in a large group, there is a big area outside to stand but rather cold in winter. Otherwise a decent pub for after work drinks.

Bar guy pours me a prosecco instead of the Provence large wine I'd ordered. No problem, it was loud, mistakes happen. When corrected, he tips out the prosecco and proceeds to pour a LARGE wine into a prosecco glass. When stopped, someone hands him a fresh wine glass out of the drier, which he fills with water and ice to chill. He then lobs the liquid, and pours the wine. No need to dry the glass. Lovely. Pretty sure he overcharged me also. Other than that, nice pub.

Really good. One of my old stomping grounds around 25 years ago. Mike and Jill in charge in those days, it's all changed since then. Happy to report it's not for the worse. I did a bit of research and I think it's coming up for it's 200th birthday in 2025! Keep up the good work!

According to my husband, the draught beer was awful so he ended up with a gin and tonic on his third attempt. Still had to pay for it. Nothing special. Just a pub.

We popped into the Golden Fleece, as our usual pub, was not serving food, just before Christmas. It was a really good decision to revist The Golden Fleece (myself and one of my friends in our group have used the Golden Fleece before). We got a table at lunch time. We all ordered food and drinks. The burgers were tasty and very, very popular with other guests. The service was excellent, and the cost was reasonable. Will definitely return to the Golden Fleece pub again, to enjoy the food and service again. Lee

Good pub with very helpful staff

Traditional old City pub. Used to be great with excellent bar manager. Was extremely busy and service was extremely slow and understaffed. Bar staff oblivious to who was next to be served and avoiding eye contact with customers. It took me 30 mins, whilst at the front of the bar, to be served with one member of staff constantly checking their phone and another looking on the verge of a nervous breakdown, rushing aimlessly, trying to find where the right glasses and drinks were.

Very spacous bar, there is a cosy semi enclosed area that we used and it was perfect for our group. Good beer and wine selection. Most of all the food was amazing! It got very busy at some point and the staff were excellent. They actually made sure to serve people in the right order checking who is next and being very patient and positive even though the place was packed. It was busy but the atmosphere was very upbead and positive thanks to the lovely staff.

I went with some friends in November for after work drinks. Amazing staff very accommodating and very friendly. The beers were very cheap and the staff new there drinks The service was amazing, they were very helpful and had extensive knowledge of wine list as a wide variety of beers It’s a lovely big venue with great atmosphere. Everyone in the bar had an amazing time for drinks on Thursday and was a huge credit to a well run establishment. I returned to the venue for a lunch and food was exceptional. The meals were very large and very affordable and delicious. The staff very friendly and accommodating and knew there food. Had a wide variety of food to choose from I loved the burger. I would recommend this venue for any bday, Christmas party or just to have a great time. Got large tv for sports game so will be retuning in a regular basis

Really gorgeous interior full of wood and leather. Medium sized pub with small restaurant section and a few nooks and crannies to get lost in. The beer is good and plentiful as is the range of whisky and gin. The food is great and I think all fresh which you can tell in the tasting. Its a little dear but not when compared to the area. Great little find!

Really lovely little place very close to the station, big windows, all wooden and leather interior, a bit shabby in places but generally feels loved/maintained. Really cute little downstairs area too. Yummy beers, lovely fish and chips, fantastic service.
