A really nice place to have a meal. The service was impeccable, lovely, friendly staff and gorgeous Food. I had the sea bass and hubby had the pork belly with chocolate brownie for dessert. A small restaurant but with a lovely atmosphere. We will be back if we visit Belfast again.

Great meal here. Accommodated easily. Chill atmosphere for easy conversation. Goat Cheese Spring rolls are a must-try. Pork belly was done well, and plated nicely. Will return again.

Food was fantastic, I was able to get a table easily , I was in Belfast to visit a sick relative, seafood chowder was excellent and the steak cooked to perfection and this was a perfect end to a stressful day

A great find on our mini break in Belfast. We ordered the sea bass,and the beef shoulder. Both were really tasty and recommended.

Very disappointed! Spring rolls were frozen inside, squid just awful, cheap supermarket quality and tasted like was brought from one not made in this restaurant! Fish and chips were disgusting! Soggy outside and barely cooked inside. Nightmare! I think about this food and want to gag! I can't believe we have paid for it. It has spoiled our night out! There is plenty other nice places in Belfast and most times the experience is beautiful or just ok, not in Lantern! My experience was awful and makes me feel sorry to myself I have eaten there! Never again bleugh

The Lantern Restaurant in Belfast is a gem! Their Burnt Cream dessert was divine - rich, creamy, and perfectly caramelized. The ambiance was cozy, and the service top-notch. A must-visit for anyone craving exquisite dining in Belfast!

Outstanding grub and fantastic service, would highly recommend! We had squid and fish cakes to start followed by sea bass and cod all of which was devoured. Attentive service throughout. Get on it!

Great food at a reasonable price. My husband took me here for my 40th birthday and their birthday song was really funny and cute.

Staying in city center, we were looking for a good meal from a spot open on Tuesday and we were faced with limited options. We walked 2 blocks to the lantern and had one of the best meals of our 12 day holiday. If we ever come back to Belfast, we are coming here again.

I am not complaining at all about this place. But, in my opinion, this place over promises and under delivers. The food was mediocre at best and the decor and surrounds are café esq. The staff are lovely but all VERY young. The manager/owner is attentive and a really nice guy. I bare no malice. This is merely my review. One has to secure the reservation with CC and, if I hadn't done so, on arrival would have bailed at that point. But give it a go we did. And it's a popular place. Maybe for pre theatre!? I had a rib eye (medium rare) which comes with peppercorn sauce, both of which were completely tastless. My partner had the pork, which she says was lovely. I had a tempranillo red (glass) which was cold, which wasn't ideal but my 2nd glass was definitely not the same as my 1st!? I had a creme brulèe as desert which was pretty nice and my partner had the apple crumble, which unfortunately she says was tasteless. We picked this place from reviews and this is mine. There is a LOT of choice in Belfast and for me, I am disappointed I picked this over other that are available locally. Again, the staff were lovely but I would not go out of my way to come here again. For a bill of £96 I expect MUCH more (2 person cover) and I would expect this place to step up to the plate should it wish to keep the good reviews.

We stumbled upon this restaurant and felt drawn in by the ambience and menu . The food was delicious and the service wonderful … the team were extremely courteous and warm . A very enjoyable experience . Thank you … keep up the good work .

We went to the Lantern for dinner on Valentines Day. The food was excellent and service very friendly and efficient. Recommend the seafood linguine in particular.

The duck and steak was fantastic! It remained chewy and soft the entire time we are eating it. And the B52 shot was one of a kind! Love it!

Brought my wife of 30 years here this Saturday for our anniversary , and I must say it was simply splendid! We had the lovelyest of food ranging from meats like Turkey to treats like chips, the staff were so polite and I highly recommend The Lantern - Luke

The lantern had been recommended to me by a work colleague. I wasn't looking for the Lantern but happened to pass it and remembered the recommendation. The restaurant staff were welcoming and friendly (especially as we were walk-in) and made us feel immediately at ease....

Had a great meal and would definitely be back. Just remember you can't get Chicken stack in December.🤣

This is small, vibrant restaurant with excellent food and service. We visited in December when there was the usual menu accompanied by a festive menu. The Christmas pudding and brandy sauce was the best I’ve tasted in a long time!

A lovely and friendly restaurant in the centre of Belfast. I had Seafood Chowder to start, which was delicious and warming. The duck with cherry sauce and seasonal vegetables was a tasty and filling main. The wine was reasonably priced at £24 for a good Shiraz. Service was very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

Food was just passable - seafood entrees tasted under cooked and sticky toffee pudding could have been hotter. Very much felt like we were being rushed so they could close. Don’t take 8.30pm bookings if you want to be shut by 9!
