The Rose and Crown in Blackpool

Amazing food, big portions. Staff were friendly and really welcoming. Highly recommend a visit for both food and drinks.

We called here for a pre-theatre drink, aiming to support a local hostelry, but had so sooner walked through the door than we were told it was closed - at 7pm, despite the advertised hours, even on a Sunday, which this was, were 11pm. So we walked over the road to a Wetherspoons, who can always be relied on to stick to their hours. Ah well, we tried.

Steak pie like something out of a packet. Definitely not home made Chips must have been in the range at least twice Not for me Never again

Twice attempted to give this small pub company money over their larger competitors and they closing - once as early as 530pm. I suggest they review the hours they promote as their opening (see Google and anyone thinking of visiting has a back up plan or checks before travelling

I went into this establishment on the 14th October to try to get some dinner before I went to see a show around 6pm. I went to collect a menu off a table and one male member started shouting at me that I wasn't to take one off there and should have taken one from another place . Now I had no idea about about that but find the way I and my partner were shouted was absolutely disgusting. I have run several public houses myself and if one of my staff spoke to a customer like that they wouldn't be working in there any longer . So my partner said we will no longer be eating here or ever coming in to this place ever again

We called here for a meal after a day out the staff were pleasant friendly and helpful. We ordered our meals and didn't have to wait long the meals were hot and tasty we finished up with a generous serving of ice cream all at reasonable prices I would recommend if you like good pub grub!

Well if you like packet mashed potato and low quality food...this is the place to come!! Definitely not worth the money

For 20years this has been our go to place for lunch when on holiday in Blackpool every year and have never been disappointed until now😢 Stopped for lunch today only to be served up a panini that was so brick hard a dog couldn’t chew it along with burnt over cooked chips on everyone’s plates. Such a shame they have let themselves down this way as it really used to be excellent every time in years gone by. Price wasn’t exactly cheap either but I don’t mind paying for its good.😉

Went for my mum's birthday who is a regular in there, the man working there was rude to us when we pushed 2 tables together, although I had asked the waitress if this was ok, said we could't do it as he they were busy with customers from the Winter Gardens, we did point out that we were local people and were also customers, his attitude was so awful that we had no choice but to leave, he did try apologising but was shocking and upsetting

My wife and I called in for a drink at lunch time,good selection of beers,friendly enough staff,nice pub,they also do food,although I didn’t see anybody eating today.

Hi we visited tonight and was advised upon walking in children would be leaving by 9 at 20past 9 who were still dancing around at 9.30 we were served by a miserable barmaid who really didn't want to serve us and when my husband asked for his pint to be topped up he was told no by the dark haired barmaid which was then topped up by the lovey blond barmaid

Came here today. Ordered a chicken burger at £8.50, it came it was cold, burger bun was stale and cold and the chicken burger was tiny and a lot smaller than the stale bun. Tiny salad on the side. Cheap oven chips. Not worth the money we spent.

Ordered a Chicken burger with cheese and chips The bun was cold no cheese and i cut it in half one half had no burger in it as for the chips best way i can desribe them is they tasted like oven chips We forgot our last visit to the establishment never again

Went to bar, 2 pints of “Wonky Donkey”, poured, sniffed and immediate edge of vinegar. Taste confirmed beer off or going off. Complaints treated with vague ridicule, borderline hostility - lady behind the bar said “well the lines have been cleaned”. Didn’t seem to comprehend my question about what point the cask was at… Neither of the bar staff made any attempt to sample said beer, presumably not enough knowledge of the product to know what they were looking at. I had to say “I drink a lot of proper beer so I know that this is disgusting”. Eventually offered to change for the other one, although lady behind the bar made pointed remarks about me trying that one before she pulled two pints off to throw away… Second beer fine but experience generally awful. Added to that the fact that if you’re sat outside they give you a plastic glass… even the local Wetherspoons trusts grown-ups with a real glass! I almost never leave negative reviews, but this place is getting one. Shame because it’s a great location and potentially a lovely pub.

On our way back from the zoo we were looking for somewhere to eat and decided to try here I had chicken and chips which was cooked very nicely and plenty of it. The staff were pleasant and helpful

Called in here a Saturday early evening for something to eat. I am very fussy and always have to request changes to a meal or something not on it, however here did not have to. Lovely menu - variety of meals catering to all and not a long wait. Enjoyed it so much, came back the following day to try something else. Lovely atmosphere, great prices and top food - what more could you ask for?!

We got in and loved it. But none of the staff stated that 9pm was the last orders or seemed unable to ring a bell to warn us. We all got no drinks after 9. But the bar staff then served their mates after 9....

Friendly pub with lovely old world interior. Got a great feel to the place. They do meals too. Open during the day and you can also get a good coffee x

Food edible, definitely better than McDonald’s, Burger was not bad, slightly overdone but one was enough and I’ve been known to trough three in one sitting along with chips. Drink was okay if a bit pricey.

Attempted to enter Saturday morning as doors were open at 10.30 to be screamed at by a dark haired young girl that they are not open, so rude as could of been a lot polite explaining ,me and my wife were very annoyed and vowed to nit go back, we did the very next day as we always come here when visiting Blackpool, we wanted a breakfast chef saud no , asked for a bacon and egg but, chef said no again, what type of chef us he do we settled for a cheese toastie as we had already ordered drinks, lazy lazy chef and bad mannered staffvapart from the tall young blonde lad who us always polite, Will we go again, never ,you have lost our custom and probably lots more with staff and a chef like that

A poor mans Wetherspoons pretender. Advertised hot meat sandwich on barmcake from the roast of the day, when asked what meat it was , offered three. Got "roast beef" , came in a bun which fell apart despite no gravy. Dry as a nuns .....who serves a hot roast beef sarnie without even a bit of moisture, me mouth was full of cobwebs. Also full of chavs with prams. Avoid despite location, better cafes opposite as we found out later

My wife and I went to the rose and crown this afternoon for a drink and a meal. We decided to have a few drinks before ordering a meal. I went to the bar at 4.35 pm for a drink and asked the barmaid if they were still selling food to be told the kitchen closed at 4.30 pm Monday to friday. There were no notices displayed to inform people of this which I think is a disgrace as the notice inside stated that the area we were in was for diners between 10.00 am till 9.00 pm. I think they are needing to have some respect for the people frequenting the pub

In a place were there are loads of pubs to use I find the rose and crown a great place to sit and relax especially in the afternoon if your on your own.

I’ve always found this pub very pleasant. Affordable drinks, friendly staff. Plenty of tables, Toilets are kept clean. The new chef is doing wonders for the place, food has improved a great deal. No complaints from me.

Came to meet as a Social Group. Lady serving the food was rude from the beginning. We all ate food which was average, from a chef who clearly didn't want to be there. We 7 of us, all ate and had drinks throughout, some of us having tea and coffee, given it was Sunday afternoon. The hostess made rude remarks regarding this, stating "maybe if people stopped ordering hot drinks the bar staff could actually serve" I find this attitude unacceptable, we were paying for drinks the same as other customers! The bar staff were pleasant but the hostess, who may have even been the Manager ruined the afternoon

After finding some Google reviews on this pub we decided to have a early dinner before the illuminations came on this evening. We decided to have the 2 meals for 8.99, I don't usually order a curry when I'm not at a curry house, I was not disappointed. It was beautiful. My husband had the bangers and mash, the only thing he said about it, was about it being served with onion gravy but that's just his preference. Our youngest son had the children's meal and it was as big as ours. Great value food and great service. Will definately be back when we are back in Blackpool again

We nipped in here for lunch and the food was great. Large portions and home cooked. Nice staff and got catching to one of the locals. Enjoyed it.

What a friendly pub, places to sit outside under the veranda, food looked good but had already made plans for the weekend. Staff made this place lovely atmosphere and great beer prices.

We went to Rose and crown for a meal. They was cheap so what we got we didn't expect any more. I most certainly wouldn't of paid any more then what we paid. If you want a cheap meal then try the rose and crown. If you expect more for your money then maybe try somewhere else

Always call here when in Blackpool, the staff are so friendly and helpful. The beer is always good and there’s a great outdoor seating area where you can watch the world go by. Keep up the good work guys and see you all soon. x

The Rose and Crown is one of two of my go to places for something to eat in Blackpool. Always good food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere.

After visiting this 'family friendly' pub I can honestly say I wish I didn't. After seeing signs saying fresh hot food and family friendly we decided to visit whilst on a weekend away. Well, where do I start?

Not a very tourist friendly pub locals get discounts and preferential treatment called in for Rebellion weekend and will not be going back anytime soon Rude and uninterested staff happy to take your money tho!!

The rudest bar persons I have ever come across. The manageress needs to learn basic manners. Food was disgusting. I star for a lady Donna whom was friendly and helpful. Avoid at costs.

Only popped in for a drink with my husband after having a meal somewhere else and in all honesty I am glad it was just a drink we had and didn't even finish that. The bar staff were uninterested and rather rude...didn't even get a full pint!!! Never again. Better places with friendlier staff in Blackpool!!!

Uncooked food. Ordered cheeseburger and chips. Burgers burned on outside, uncooked on inside. Discussing!!

The weather outside was awful and we was visiting friends for the day,they suggested having lunch here so we agreed. The inside was clean and tidy and staff were attentive and pleasant,the only thing that I felt could be improved is the seating at the tables the tables are quite small and for me the chairs are uncomfortable for ,I am over 6feet tall and have osteoarthritis in my major joints and had to keep adjusting my posture and moving about on the chair to relieve the pain.The meal was good I had steak pie chips peas and gravy,it was a really good sized portion which was appreciated because I have a good appetite.The drinks I thought are a bit on the dear side but I might be out of touch with pricing nowadays. I bought a pint of Carling lager and a pint of John Smiths and was charged £6.54 I had pulled a fiver out to pay ha ha but overall the surroundings are quite pleasant and so is the decor it was on the pride weekend we visited and there were quite a few people in there probably getting in out of the rain.

The food in this place is disgusting ... kids chicken meals are terrible couldn’t eat the meal chicken was hard as it’s been warmed up in a microwave .. never again

Did not want to go to the big chain pubs nearby. Seen offer 2 meals £8.99 house doubles £2.99 with mixer. So how and why is extra gravey £1? An interesting pricing structure, and I may say poor customer service, letting the deal down. So a 4 down to 2 for some expensive granules and hot water.

This is a nice little pub always has a nice atmosphere whenever we visit reasonably priced drinks too

Just had a sharing platter !!! Excellent food ... v quick service and all freshly cooked by Mark .... the chef .... we will definitely be eating here again and can DEFINITELY recommend it

Me ND my friends visit this place every year during the Rebellion festival and are never disappointed! Beer, whiskey and a whole lot of nice people. Well that pretty much sums it up. And yeah, there's concerts upstairs if you're into that sort of thing.

We are on holiday in Blackpool and by luck stumbled across the rose & crown. We decided to stop for dinner before heading back to our caravan site. We are so glad we did. We were 4 adults & a toddler, the food was good value & excellent. What made our experience so good was the fuss the chef made of our toddler. They brought out his food with our starters then when our main courses came he came out to ask if our wee boy wanted ice cream (which of course he did) so we could est our meal in peace he tucked into a lovely bowl of ice cream. On saying goodbye & thank you to the chef he gave our wee boy a biscuit to take away. He was very happy with his biscuit to eat on the tram.

We visit Blackpool 3+ times a year. After a tedious train journey especially if staying over,our first port of call is the Rose and Crown. We have something to eat and a couple of cold drinks. Puts us in good stead for the rest of the day. Nice food, friendly staff good overall atmosphere.keep up the great work. Thanks.

We looked at a couple of different places before finding this place. We were tired and hungry but didn’t feel comfortable anywhere until we visited the Rose and Crown. Welcoming bar staff and a relaxed, spacious and light environment. Good food and a well kept pint.

Ordered a steak ale pie got a small portion of stew tasteless and the daftest 4 inch top that disintegrated to nothing edible

great value for money a nice place to have a drink and catch up with friends and a warm welcome from the staff who work their very helpful and will definitely be going back there again next time I visit

Nice bar. Cheapish prices... And, best of all.... Scampi Fries!! :) Great range of beers too and friendly service.
