Great atmosphere great singer on really enjoyed it.

Can only comment on my visit. No telly. No WiFi. No heating. No hairdryer, probably to stop you using it as a heater . No one makes up bed if more than 1 night. No top up tea/coffee. Cut head on wardrobe whilst making a drink as corner jutting out near kettle. and £11.20 for 2 bacardi and cokes. First and last visit. Too many No's. In reply. No WiFi in room as other areas we could log in. Regards injury, maid informed us someone would come see us. No one came. No hairdryer back of bathroom door. We shouldn't have to ask for towels/tea or room check.

If you want the Ritz then pay for the price. If you'd prefer a cheap stay in a cracking location then this offers sound value for money. Clean rooms and friendly service ; recommended.

We popped in for a drink at lunchtime on a Saturday. Lovely décor and a good selection of drinks (ales). Only downside was it was cold there, there is a fire that wasn't lit and there were hardly any customers present. We were the only ones for some time. Would have been much more pleasant if we were warm. We did leave to go to another pub and huddled around a radiator.

Had dinner here and the food was spot on. The cheesey garlic bread was a highlight. We visited here regularly after an afternoon on the beach or a day out. Great service and friendly staff.

Room 8 is where I stayed,a comfy bed and good shower. Unfortunately, the room was very tired, and in need of redecoration as was the bathroom.It was also very noisy at night due to some extractor fans or kitchen equipment running in the nighttime. I was unable to have the window open due to noise. The breakfast was an extra at £10.95, which, given the state of the room I feel, should have been included in the price .The room was £70.00 a bit too much considering the decorative appearance. I wouldn't stay there again as I feel it wasn't value for money. The final nail in the coffin for me was the barman telling anti semantic jokes from behind the barI found them on bad taste and, unprofessionally and totally uncalled for considering he had no idea of who was in the bar,their background or religion.

Disappointed in our room. No window except for in the shower room. Must be the lumpiest mattress ever (room 10). Terrible flooring in the shower room and no mirror. View if the bins outside. Will not be stopping here again. No light on the stairs on the way down to the bar from the room.

Lovely doggy friendly hotel. Made us so welcome . Breakfast lovely. Samantha was so friendly and made a big fuss a terrier Tink. Will definitely return

Very helpful staff who allowed us to leave luggage before the check in time however the room was very dated. The carpet was very stained, large cracks in the walls and marked decor/walls, big cobwebs on the ceilings. The beds were very comfy though but definitely in need of some updating/refreshing.

We visited for dinner with our son. Ordered GF fish and chips which was really good portion size/ taste everything was great. Would highly recommend. Great gluten free options on the menu.

The hotel decore inside lovely used this place a few times but on return visit this time the table was sticky that you could feel it on your hands and when ordered a pint and coffee we sat waiting on the coffee and could clearly see the member of staff texting on her phone rather than the service even when I went back up to ask how long it was going to be she was making it and still on phone which when I did get it my partner had nearlfinished his pint so left hospitality customer service shocking no apologies just it’s coming

We’ve been to Hunstanton many times and this is our first stay outside of the usual caravan stays. The Wash and Tope is in a fantastic location, without a doubt. Right by the beach, town, and usual amusements. It’s on a main road, but not too busy at night, save for the usual (occasionally happy) passers by. Parking is free on road, but there’s a paid car park opposite. The pub appears to be heavily into efforts making money Friday to Sunday with their music acts in the summer months. Opening times seem to be ad hoc during the week. Pub garden is a car park with many tables and chairs and , again, aimed for the weekend music pull. Our room was ok. Sea view. En suite door didn’t shut properly which didn’t bother us but might bother some. Power sockets were tricky to locate behind furniture so maybe a rethink to to room layout would be useful. We didn’t eat here so cannot comment on that. The two female staff we dealt with were warm and friendly. Ladies loos in the pub 8/10! This place has such potential, but not yet realised….

This is a dreadful place. If the surface isn’t stained, it’s sticky. The barman was utterly indifferent to the needs of his customers. A joust-about-passable pint of Landlord, though always with the standards of hygiene in mind… The menu was as plebeian as it was unhygienic (simultaneously stained and sticky). My partner bore a genuinely startled expression when the menu she'd been looking at, seemed to have become welded to the table. Didn’t eat, chose to go elsewhere…

Great place to go when the sun is out. The garden is a sun trap and you are shielded from that chilly coastal breeze. Food is good, beer is good and service is good. Definitely recommend!

The heavens opened (Sunny Hunny) and I was in close proximity to Wash and Tope. On entry I ordered a drink and found the menu was mainly pizza or hot dogs. I had a hotdog which was bland and served in a stale roll. The rest of the plate. Was chips in a wire basket and a small pot of processed coleslaw. Ok it was cheap but it was awful. In contrast the guy serving was polite and attentive.

I’ve just stayed here for 3 nights and can’t fault this place! The staff are lovely and accommodating, the breakfasts delicious ( can’t comment on meals, as we chose to go out, but they looked lovely!) and the room is clean and very comfortable -all the things you would expect from a well-run, 3 star hotel. I would definitely stay here again and I recommend it to anyone!

First time visit. Had a lovely meal and some great Adnams Ghost Ship ale. We both had Hunters Chicken and it was cooked and served very well.

Food remnants all over the floor, toilets disgusting, £8.70 for one pint of ale and a half cider, and ‘cornflakes’ in the bottom of the ale glass.

If I could give this a 0 star I would. Travelled here with my elderly father who is also a cancer patient, for 5 hours to visit his sick parents and we emailed twice in advance asking for early check in. Upon arrival the lady, who I presume is the manager, said they hadn’t received an email, no apology and nothing to try and help get the room ready sooner. Just didn’t care. Quite frankly the three women behind the bar stared blankly at us as if it not their problem. The level of customer service was appalling. Bit of advice - I wouldn’t recommend going into hospitality if you don’t want to be customer facing or give two monkeys to help people. The room was basic. Not clean. Thick black cobwebs and a toilet seat that didn’t stay up. 5pm check in to clean and it is laughable because the rooms were far from clean. This place could have so much potential with the right staff and a refresh because the location is great. It’s just such a shame that the staff obviously don’t care.

Difficult review to do really, the breakfast was nice although overpriced, the staff were welcoming and the beer garden was nice. The room was extremely overpriced for what we got. The bed was firm too. I wouldn't stay here again as you can get better accommodation for your money with sea views

Came here on super Saturday, the first day of opening after lockdown so was expecting chaos, however we were pleasantly surprised. Despite a lot of changes to coincide with social distancing and training 2 new team members on a busy day the manager Sherri was very polite and friendly, as was Giles when we returned on the sunday. We didn't eat but the menu had some unusual and tasty sounding dishes despite being reduced at the time. If we return to hunstanton we will definitely visit again.

As a group of 8, (2 vegetarians, 3 children) we found seating together quickly and easily. We placed our order for food and drinks at the bar and food was delivered in a reasonable time. Plenty of vegetarian and child portions, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Dog friendly which was a big bonus, and bar man (Saul) was friendly and very helpful. Place had a friendly atmosphere and clean.One mistake was made when ordering puddings but efficiently rectified. Thoroughly enjoyable visit and would definatly go back.

We went to the pub on Saturday evening for a meal with our dad who is 83The pub it self is very well presented after clearly alot of money doing the place up.There was clearly a lack of staff in the bar area and although they were very helpful it was clear hearing comments as one of the staff entered the kitchen all was not well!!!We ordered our meals which when delivered were ok. Nothing special but certainly acceptable. The pub is very much a sports pub with many tv's around. It clearly in my view needs a dedicated dining area that people eat at as the language from the bar area was very colourful.Would I go back.. yes but only for a beer and footy

Visited this pub yesterday evening for the first time since New management took over, based on my experience it will be the last time I visit. We called in just after 6pm and whilst there were a few people drinking there were not many people eating or ordering food at that time. We waited an hour before we received our ordinary meals of scampi and chips and a gammon steak. When they arrived whilst being served on warm plates the meals were barely warm, gammon steak was a glorified thin rasher of bacon. If there is going to be a long wait for food you should be told when ordering and standard should be higher making it worth the wait.

It was brilliant the food is to die for and Mia was excellent and I think was very helpful and I believe that this restaurant should win an award

Menus are now neatly displayed in the menu boxes outside - tick! Still dog friendly and staff helpful. New owners still clearly setting things up.Limited menu but it does say this is temporary and they were prepared to go off menu for my mother who just fancied a BLT.Food was OK. It took a long time to arrive, at least 45 min, and we were the only ones in the pub when ordered and was a bit hit and miss regarding temperature. That said I'm feeling generous and prepared to accept that things take a while to get into gear when ownership changes and also that this was the day after Boxing Day so maybe a stand in chef. It is also possible that the delay was due to someone having to nip out to get some lettuce for the BLT :-)Will try again next time we are in Hunny when hopefully everything will be in full swing.

A great place to go for a meal where dogs are allowed inside.Today’s menu was for a roast which was lovely. Choice of meat was turkey, beef and pork and served with vegetables, roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding.Nice friendly staff would definitely recommend you to visit!

Visited here with our puppy and noted how dog friendly it was. Even on the main door there was a sign saying that all dogs were welcome. Only shame was that out of 5 handpumps they only had 2 in use.

We have been to Hunstanton 11 times now and this was the first time we have tried the Wash and Tope, more on this later.

We visited The Wash and Tope whilst on holiday in the area. We couldn't believe how the place had changed over the years. I ordered a Rump steak with salad and chips, and my husband had the All Day Breakfast. Both meals were cooked and presented beautifully. I found the staff very polite and helpful. It was great to find a place which accepts dogs. We wouldn't hesitate to re-visit if in the area again

The Wash and Tope Hunstanton is the worst place I and my friends have ever visited. Us 5 respectable working and professional ladies went to this awful place last Friday 16 August before going to the Princess Theatre All five of us ordered a meal. Four meals came and we were constantly assured our friend’s meal would arrive Unfortunately it never materialised We enquired as to why They said it hadn’t been prepared and grudgingly said would she like them to cook a meal for her, bearing in mind we had all eaten which meant she would eat on her own, and we had to go to a show so there wasn’t time or would she have her money back and a glass of wine. There was no apology. Our friend finished up eating the remains of our food. The owner of this dreadful place was rude, arrogant and unapologetic and asked us to leave. This was highly embarrassing. We had already been advised not to eat there and wished we had taken notice Since Friday we have heard that the landlady is saying to people that we swore at her in language none of us would ever use which is very upsetting and derogatory It was their mistake and the owner should have admitted it and apologised. I just hope no-one else has the experience we had at this place Awful experience which spoilt the night for us all

We have recently relocated to Hunstanton and have been exploring the local area. We were looking for a pub where we could watch the football. Went to The Wash and Tope. Dogs welcome which is a bonus as our little dog accompanies us out on most days.

We visited the wash and tope during our stay at Hunstanton with friends. The restaurant is part of a bed and breakfast but you couldn’t tell. The interior is well looked after and very tastefully decorated.

I really do not rate this place. Owner misleads you that there is off road parking then tells you some story about a drunk customer who was driving around so the police shut the carpark two days ago!! Look at the reviews and see that it has been shut for a few weeks but they don't tell you. Or offer to reimburse you if you have to pay to park. Even getting angry with me when I complained! As for "boutique rooms"

Myslef and my boyfriend vist Hunstandton ever 2 or three months for a weekend and always have a drink in the Wash & Tope we find it to be a very friendly pub the staff are always very helpfully

I’m a fairly frequent flyer for the Wash and Tope as it’s a great location to meet up with family and friends. Great atmosphere good food which is well priced clean and well presented. Staff friendly and willing to help - highly recommend

Me and my partner come up to hunstanton quite alot for day trips, this time we decided to make a weekend of it and stayed at the wash and top and wow what can I say , great rooms ,great food and great staff we were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked in and was shown to are room and we walked in to a well presented tidy and clean room with a view to die for, looking out to the sea. We wondered around hunstanton a while and decided we would eat at the wash and tope as it looked like a really nice and comfortable setting and this was 100% the right decision, the food came out and it was amazing and well presented and was also great value. The staff were all so nice and friendly also. Breakfast the following morning was also amazing and set myself and my partner up for the rest of the day. Would strongly recommend the wash and tope to anyone and cant wait to get back there. Thank you guys for such a great stay .

Not a great stay. Just one night by the sea so thought it would be fine. Dirty bathroom, could not use the sink and dirty carpets. No hairdryer.Staff ok , breakfast cheap and nasty. Won't be back, the pub itself had nice decor and position good in Hunstanton, though very noisy at night.

Worsted B&B; I have stayed at. I booked two rooms both were £95 each for one night . The rooms were so dirty !!! The bedding had staines, the wall had red wine on it , the radiator was leaking so the floor was wet . The breakfast was basic the sausage were cheap and there was no fresh fruit or yogurt I would expect that if I’m paying £95 a night !

Car park closed for hotel guests had to park in public car park at a cost of £6 had to remove car early hours of Sunday morning to make way for market, hotel room ok ,apart from the water stain on carpet ,radiator leaking carpet wet, paint peeling on door to bedrooms, breakfast not got used cheapest ingredients (bacon /sausage) ,paid cash on arrival had a job to obtain a receipt Sunday morning

2nd year we have spent our new year in the Wash & Tope and once again didn't fail. The band were amazing and even allowed us to join in, get involved & pick our own music which the played. Child friendly & dog friendly. We had an amazing night. Visiting new years day to watch the football and the food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelt amazing. Will definitely pay another visit when we return to Searles this year.
