Avalon in Darlington

Comimos aquí más Sábado cuando estamos en tiendas de la ciudad. La comida es fantástica, generalmente comer hamburguesas pero he probado las brochetas. Mi hija que tiene 5 dedos de pescado le encanta la. Comida hermosa, gran servicio amable y una excelente selección de bebidas.Nos encanta estar aquí y se lo recomiendo a parejas, familias y amigos

Llamado a Avalon para Sábado almuerzo mientras compras como habíamos visto nuevo menú anunciado.Buena selección de artesanía, cerveza y premium lager.Pedí pollo hamburguesa con queso azul y salsa de cebolla caramelizada, la esposa tenía pinchos de verduras y haloumi, ambas comidas venía con patatas fritas caseras y eran muy buenos. Dos comidas y dos cervezas cada unopor menos de 25 libras, altamente recomendado. Personal muy amable también!

Always enjoy an Avalon burger, great to sit outside and enjoy the sun.. foods always tasty and service always with a smile. highly recommend

After a couple of hours shopping, we called in for a bite to eat, mam and I both got the sandwiches, I chose the chicken bacon and Brie, my mam got the pulled pork, both served in brioche ( think that's how it's spelt) buns, salad and delicious skin on chips..great value, very staff, worth calling in!

Pensé que le daría una prueba como habían de estar afuera y fue un día soleado. Fuimos al bar y me cobraron £4.40 para la peor pinta de cerveza siempre como té frío. Y nos llevamos a la pinta de Stella y s que no era mucho mejor, así que me fui sin beber

Comimos aquí ayer, era la segunda vez que he estado y estoy muy impresionado con la comida. Gran relación calidad-precio y chili hamburguesa casera con patatas fritas caseras delgado. fabuloso Muy bien presentado en una bandeja de madera con un personal muy amable. No es un menú variado pero masivo o lo que hacen es preparado muy bien. Volveremos la próxima vez que esté de compras en Darlo y te gusta la hamburguesa.

Mis amigos y yo fuimos para el almuerzo y tenía una hamburguesa deliciosa con piel de patatas fritas! Tan delicioso! El personal era muy amable y alegre. Sin duda volveré!! Ofertas especiales! 2 por 1 los miércoles con folletos de descuento y precios razonables en bebidas.

Fuimos para un encantador almuerzo con mi madre como un regalo y en un lugar diferente a donde ir.El servicio era genial, la comida parecía muy bueno y bien presentadoque tenía la carne grillada y mi madre tuvo la barbacoa de cerdo desmenuzado y lo disfrutamos tanto burger. Sin duda volveremos!Se lo recomendaría a mis amigos y otros miembros de la familia

Had a wonderful burger with delicious homemade chips which were presented fantastically. Staff were very friendly. Great meal at a reasonable price. Will definitely recommend to others and will visit again 😃

Comimos aquí porque el sol brillaba y había asientos fuera. Todos nos recogieron en la selección de sandwich, y aunque el bollo de pan estaba bien para el cerdo desmenuzado realmente no van bien con el queso de cabra y Pimiento Asado, pan plano más adecuado que hubiera más. Dicho esto, que todos sabían muy bien. El personal era amable y el servicio era bueno.

Popped in tempted by the 2 for £10 offer and tried out the build your burger menu. Staff were helpful with suggestions (yes, the blue cheese sauce was delicious!) and service was quick and efficient. Friendly bar and food was fast, but not bland fast food! We'll be back!

I called in for a light lunch whilst shopping and I am really pleased that I did. The atmosphere was up beat with the music playing in the background and not too loud. Staff were very attentive and bubbly and couldn't of done anymore for me. I asked for a salad of tomatoes and mozzarella with no dressing as I am on the Slimming World diet and wanted to stay on as much as I could. This was no problem at all for the chef and when it arrived it was eye-catching and a good looking plate of food. Thank you for excellent food and service and I will certainly go back and encourage friends to go.

Trying to be a hipster hang out, but more dingy than cool. Burger was grisly. Skinny fires fat and soggy. Pilsner in a beer jug. What can you expect in Darlington. They probably think this is as good as it gets.

The black pudding bacon egg beef burger is arguably the best burger I have tasted. Despite a mix up with our order the staff could not have sorted it any quicker top burger, top staff, top lunch

Just wanted to point out to the staff, that whoever the guy was last nite that asked people to clap to a band that couldn't sing a note was horrendous, I have never been in a bar where the paying patrons were actually abused by what seemed to be the owner or bar manager...... It was farcical, still dumbfounded.....although to be fair is likely the type of service that would be expected from the majority of the clientele.....do yourself a favour and spend your hard earned beer tokens elsewhere!

I recently came into Avalon for some food. I would normally go here for a night-out but I heard that they were recently pushing burgers and skewers on their Facebook Page and had a look. I was amazed so I just had to try them. I went in and was great by very polite staff and sat down. I had a Swiss Cheese and Bacon Beef Burger. My girlfriend had a BBQ, Bacon and Cheese Lamb Burger.They were both amazing! the chips tasted fantastic too.I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a taste of an American style diner!

After seeing photos on Facebook I decided it was time to visit Avalon for a burger. I wasn't let down- fantastic variety to chose from and I really liked the layout of the menu! When our burgers arrived they were truly the most delicious I've had- scrumptious coleslaw and chips to accompany - couldn't fault and will definitely be returning.

Came for lunch with a friend few days ago, had the burgers. Mine was a bit over cooked but the chips were nice. Great decor inside

Went for a night out the Door staff are rude & so unprofessional..A lot of drug abuse in the toilets I wouldn't go again on a night out.

My colleagues and I have visited three times now in the last 2 months and each time we've felt welcomed and been served the most delicious burgers. We've stopped going anywhere else for team lunches. The toppings and choice of meat are excellent and they're more than accommodating for fussy eaters who want to amend the toppings. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Came here on a Groupon one Saturday lunchtime and was really pleasantly surprised. The menu was interesting and well thought out, burgers and sides lovely, good drinks and great service. Really good value for money too. Well done Avalon! Will definitely go back.

Only serve spurious brands and the quality is definitely lacking .Add to poor quality the hefty prices and it's not difficult to see why one visit is enough

Had a quick lunch here with a burger and it was one of the nicest burgers I have tasted. I had the beef burger with bacon rashers and melted swiss cheese, it came with skinny chips that were cooked with the skin on and a lovely relish. The burger was delicious very well cooked nice and juicy and very large. The staff were really pleasant as well. All in all a very decent burger at a very reasonable price. Well visit again for sure.

We went as a family using a Groupon voucher on a Saturday lunchtime, first time I've been but my other half has been with her Mum. It got quite busy while we were there. Quite a small menu so they can specialise. Very impressed with the food, I had a chicken burger which was really nice, my partner had a regular beef burger and was equally impressed. They had a kids menu, which was really nice to see. My daughter chose fish fingers, which sounded pretty ordinary but when they came they were large pieces of fish in batter. They looked and tasted really good, but one slight downside was that - as a kid - she was expecting your regular fish fingers and as such, didn't want to eat them which was a shame. There were a couple of soft drinks and I had a pint of Shipyard, nice to see some craft beers on the pumps. Disappointing that they don't offer payment by card, this is standard these days especially in restaurants so should be offered, it felt a bit demeaning to have to walk out and go to a cash machine over the road. The Groupon makes it a very good deal so you can't be robbed. Nice food, we'll probably go back again

Couldn't comment on the food as i've only been at night but it's very nice bar with good staff who work hard to ensure you get what you want as fast a possible. The patio is nice to stay out on in the summer/spring for a good drink and they have heaters too for the winter nights! DJ is good and they usually provide live entertainment during the summer which is awesome! Great little night out before exploring the rest of Darlington!

This is a great bar in Darlington, has a large beer garden in the back with plenty of places to sit, bar outside aswell and their is always live music or a great Dj . Definately recommended to come here for a night out and try the three course drinks.

Great food deals during lunch. Very happy friendly staff. Amazing drink deals on a night, the place to be from 9-1. Great music on, the best beer garden in town.

After reading reviews called in for lunch. Arrived just after 12 and it felt a little soulless. The radio was on, 6 music I think, but it was a chat/interview which wasn't really conducive to dining environment. The food was okay, home cooked and hot. Nothing exciting, but there again was very reasonably priced so value for money.The toilets had been cleaned, if a little worn with chips round the sinks, one toilet temporarily out of order, and the other one with stain marks, which didn't look pleasant. Also, access to toilets is tricky for anyone with walking difficulties as a number of steps involved.Finally, they only take cash which is not obvious on arrival

Visited here with a groupon voucher. The food was great and homecooked. Only downside was that they could do with more staff as the guy wasn't able to take orders serve drinks and clear tables by himself very efficiently.Lovely terrace to eat outside.Will definitely return.

We visited this restaurant for the first time at lunch time today and we had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. We sat outside in the sunshine and were very well looked after by the staff. The food was very good and very reasonably priced as we had 2 meals for £10. We thought that the drinks were a little expensive though! My only negative comment is that there was a lack of toilet paper in the ladies' toilet area. It was a good thing that i had tissues in my bag!!!!! Still, I would certainly recommend visiting this restaurant and hopefully the staff will remember to check the toilets a little more often.

We enjoyed our Groupon Deal at Avalon, they do nice looking burgers and a Chicken kabab on a stand that looks nice, we went for Lamb and it was delicious. We also had cheesecake for dessert which was also fab. Its a little different to the usual pub, we enjoyed it and will return.

We visited Avalon on a groupon, really enjoyed the food, the staff were excellent, we will definitely be back, even if it is not on a groupon.

The place is sticky and often a bit dirty. The attention to detail is missing and the cleanliness has gone down hill in recent months. Refurbishments often look rushed. The staff are rude and don't seem to care about the pubs image. On a night, the place livens up on occasion, however, I have been charged to enter in the past which is a ridiculous idea for a pub the size and quality of Avalon. Even when you do get charged to enter, the back of the pub is regularly closed. The food is also poor and looks cheap.

Have just come back from a wonderful lunch at Avalon. Having read a couple of the reviews i thought i must have been in a different restaurant.My wife had posh fish and chips and i opted for a parmesan. Both were absolutely gorgeous, and as a good smoggie lad i am a self proclaimed parmo connoisseur!!Great service, staff couldnt do enough for us.We will definitely be returning

A Saturday and there is only one person taking orders, serving food and drink. Waited for so long to be served. The tables were sticky, order posh fish and chips and prawns, the prawns were not fresh and very hard.

Popped in for lunch place looks really nice had a juicy homemade burger called the bad xxx was topped with bacon BBQ sauce and cheese served with redslaw and homemade fries sorry I ate the lot

I am a regular in the bar, staff are polite and friendly and the place is always very clean. Great for a spot of lunch (chicken and chorizo kebabs are a delight) and also for a good night out with DJs and live music on every weekend. Try the 3 course drinks menu...gets you well on the way. There is also a big beer garden out the back which gives it a great outdoor vibes night and day.

Several mates recommended this place for a spot of lunch - really glad I listened to them!!! Good mix of tunes in the background, staff were attentive and welcoming.Food was awesome.... home-made chips & big classy burgers. Very tasty. It turns out everything is made fresh, not frozen and microwaved like most pubs. I'm back in Darlington next week and will defo be back for more. There's a great beer garden out the back as well

I went for lunch yesterday and well I was disappointed to say the least. This place smelled funny - swety...I've since found out its more of a nightclub than a restaurant.

I love this bar and have been coming for years now. however i was in last week and have to say i was appaled at the service of one member of staff in particlar. Rude girl on the outside bar, dark hair. Stood texting on phone while customers waiting. when i complained to her about it she spoke to e in a disgusting manner, she also got my order wrong as i asked for double vodka lemonade and she poured a single.I watched her do this. When i asked her about it she was again very rude and argumentative. All night she seemed to be miserable and not approachable at all and happily pouring herself drinks. very unprofessional.

Took my partner out for lunch, we were quickly seated in a VIP style restaurant and were served incredible food in a very unique environment, the presentation of the food was immaculate and was the best parmo in town! Great chef called simon, popped out and said hi and asked how out meal was.Would Deffonalty recommend this to many friends!

Nice to see a bar in the centre f Darlington doing really nice lunches at a good price and offering fresh not microwave meals very hard to find these days and served in a unique way
