Mill Hotel & Spa Destination in Cheshire West and Chester

Friendly staff and a nice bar area. Unfortunately the room we had was grubby and very dated. Some worrying stains on the curtains, thick dust down the side of the wardrobe and on the plugs behind the TV. Incredibly noisy bathroom fan which was also thick with grime. Very old bathroom decor too. It was a great location as it's close to the centre but not somewhere we'd stay again.

One night B &B to meet up with friends. Room basic but comfy beds. We had been allocated a family room although it was just a 2 person booking. There were 2 single and 2 single pushed together to make a double. Hanging space enough for a couple of item's. Recently decorated with black out blinds to the windows. We had a look at the pool but didn't have time to use it. Definitely would if staying longer. Looked lovely. Breakfast was good although no orange juice only apple, cranberry and water. Don't know why this couldn't have been brought from either of the 2 bars. Did mention that (as happens in many hotels) there wasn't an electric plug anywhere near a mirror for hairdryer or hot brushes etc. Reception efficient and friendly. All in all a very good stay. Parking cost £9 per night. Short walk into city centre.

Just got back from a weekend away at this hotel check in was quick and friendly room was very clean breakfast was good staff very friendly will stay again in the future

Had a two night stay here and would highly recommend. The staff were helpful, room excellent. Parking is a little expensive at £9 a night, but it was near the centre and secure. Breakfast had everything you would want.

Long weekend away with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Stayed 3 nights at the hotel. Thoroughly wonderful experience. All hotel staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to help us. Had use of the pool with its hot tub, steam room and sauna. Very relaxing. My wife had 2 treatments in the spa, again very relaxing and professionally delivered. Thanks to Danny in the Spa for his restaurant recommendation for our anniversary meal. Great Italian. Simple 5 minute walk into centre of Chester. Great walks around the town and around The Rows. Lots of great shops and restaurants. Very surprising to see a town centre buzzing in the evenings. 10 minutes in a taxi to Chester Zoo. A must if you're staying in Chester. A great weekend, highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at this hotel. We had a large room for four adults (a double and two singles) with plenty of room to move around; it certainly didn't feel cramped. The style of the decor/furniture was perhaps slightly dated but it wasn't shabby or in need of a revamp - unlike other comments I've read. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was powerful. The quality and selection of the self-service breakfast buffet was good; the big plus point was that tea was served in proper pots, none of this hot water from an urn palaver! We ended up having an evening meal at the hotel because the weather was just too horrible to go back out into town. The menu was good and prices not high - we all enjoyed our meals. There is a large bar with plenty of tables and chairs for guests to socialise – outdoor seating is also available. We used the spa facilities which we really enjoyed. The changing facilities are good and towels are provided. There's very little space for chairs or loungers in the pool area but we were happy to go from pool to hot tub and use the steam and sauna rooms. As most of the hotel guests were braving it in the rain at the Chester Races, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Parking is £9.00 per night and there are plenty of spaces available. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We definitely felt that we got value for money and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

I've been past this establishment quite a few times and thought It looked nice when walking along the canal. We decided to stay, parked with no problems and checked in. This was abit slow, but nothing major. Given room across the glass walkway (537), got to the room, and I have to say that we were a bit disappointed due to the decor, Very small windows made the room very dark. The furniture was very outdated, and in need of a major upgrade. There was also what looked like a manky single bed/ futon thing. Not great, considering the price paid for 1 night.... It wasn't all bad, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. Just expected better than we received. Dunno if we would book again.... it might have been that the rooms are going to be upgraded, and we came just before it was about to happen, but we weren't as impressed with the inside as we're were from the outside..

Stayed here for our honeymoon and were really pleased with the comfort of the room and the friendliness of the staff. Breakfast was really nice too and very well organised. Town Centre is only a short walk away

We have just stayed at this hotel from friday-sunday and overall it was a pleasant stay. Things we liked: Short walk to town centre Decent sized car park Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice Resturant was very clean Bar area was lovely and the food in there was nice (drinks and food fairly priced) Spa area AMAZING - steam room, sauna, pool and jacuzzi, we made use of this area a lot! Bed was comfortable Shower was powerful and hot! Staff all friendly Things we didn't like: Our room was quite dated - tv was old with not a very good picture, Furniture was old and dark, could do with a little modernisation. No fridge in the room, we bought bottled water due to the heat and had no fridge to store it in. No air con in the hotel whatsoever, wasn't as much of an issue in communal areas but the room was unbearable at night time, couldn't have the window open due to the noise of the road. We would definitely stay again but not during a heatwave! Overall we were pleased with our stay but we would choose a different room next time.

Everybody has pet hates when it comes to Hotel rooms, Mine are 1.No AC and too noisy from the traffic to open window onto the main road, so we boiled at night. 2 Nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom. 3. Towel rail looked like it had not been cleaned for months. 4. For us oldies nothing to grab hold of to get in and out of the shower, and no anti slip mat in the bath. 5. Tea and coffee tray very high. and kettle on the other side of the room. Likes. 1. All the breakfast staff were very good and did an excellent job. 2. Its an ideal place to stay for the town centre which is in walking distance.

We booked to stay here due to it's location, a five minute walk to the town along the canal. The hotel is split into two and we stayed in room 245 in the annex. Very quite and the room was a good size. Sadly the wifi was very poor and we decided not to use it. Better to use your own data, my laptop was not having a great time trying to upload stuff. Parking is across the road at £9 a day. We had dinner in the restaurant which was ok.

Good quick service at reception. Room a good size (501) not sure about the double door entrance. Very clean. Unfortunately there was no hot water for a shower in the morning. Told reception twice but still no water. Reception advised they tried to call us to say they had a room we could use the shower in. Sadly we were at breakfast at the time. As we were leaving they said we could use the room. We declined as we were all packed ready to leave. Hotel restaurant good. Good food in the evening good service. Breakfast was good and service quick. The staff were quick at clearing tables and making sure everywhere was clean. Breakfast itself was enjoyable.

Whilst we had a poor experience there seemed to be a lot of people enjoyed the hotel. However we found the room for 186 a little under par. It had a very shabby bathroom with no air con and the fan provided didn't work. It didnt have a fridge and this was carried in and plonked into the room? The Spa had been an attraction but robes and slippers are charged at 8 pound a person. But the facilities have no loungers just a few plastic chairs and the overall facility was so tiny we didnt use it. Again it was shabby and overall the hotel compared to most is poor and the pricing shouldn't be equal to other hotels at 4 stars and with excellent facilities. Other high points at breakfast tinned fruit and toast only toasted on one side. Overall very disappointed given what we had paid.

Stayed over in town as came by train and this hotel is only a 10 min walk from Chester. Check in was very quick and no issues. Advised that I would be leaving at 4am and had breakfast booked so reception team offered to get me coffee ready but said no, as I had more than enough to carry, but was a nice touch. The site is split between two buildings with a enclosed bridge across the canal connecting them. I was on the spa side so just wandered over. Room was really nice, really big and bathroom was good as well. Had biscuits with the team making stuff, which was nice. Area is quiet nice and my working hours did not allow me to have dinner on site, but there were some pubs along the canal, all within walking distance. The main shopping streets was also only a short walk away. There was parking out the back, but did not seem loads so maybe one to check if you are driving. Come to Chester with the family occasionally so would consider this hotel, certainly if coming by train.

Just returned from a city break to Chester, stayed at this hotel which we found brilliant for its location for the centre of the city. We visited during Covid restrictions were in place . For this reason the restaurant boat wasn’t operating , we had breakfast which had a very limited choice but what was there was nice. We also ate lunch one day and had an evening meal another both were lovely. The room was modern and spacious we booked a twin room but had a king size and 2 singles. The shower was good. , I didn’t like the fact the heaters were limited and were either on or off at 25* . This was not adequate and storage was also an issue with no drawers and limited hanging space. The other negative was that there was no appointments mon -thurs for treatments in the spa we were told they were fully booked however we later found out they don’t offer massages Mon-Thurs. These are the only reason I rated this hotel lower . The location is excellent walking distance from the train station, bus station close by and really central for town and restaurants

Nice enough hotel in a good location, though it does look slightly dated on the inside. Room itself was comfortable but the shower wasn't the best.Breakfast was absolutely terrible, microwaved scrambled eggs and two dried up, overcooked rashers of bacon that would've doubled up nicely as shoe soles.

El hotel en sí se ve bien al entrar, estaba en la recepción temprano alrededor de las 12:00, nos encontramos con una señora que no parecía muy contenta con el registro, pensé que estaba bastante despreocupada. Nos dijeron que teníamos que pagar el estacionamiento a las 7:00 porque reservamos a través del libro. com Pagué 110 por una habitación por una noche, con vista al Canal, así que la idea de tener que pagar esto al enviar tanto por una habitación me pareció un poco llamativa. Luego, cuando llegamos a la habitación, nos dieron la llave de la habitación y el chico de la recepción fue encantador. Deseamos tenerlo desde el principio, la habitación en sí era grande, luminosa y limpia. La cama no era cómoda en absoluto, la cama era muy dura y no podía asentarse porque la calefacción era muy alta, pero intenta encender el aire acondicionado y hacía bastante ruido. El desayuno nos encontramos con un chico encantador y nos llevó a un asiento sin problema, la comida debe haber sido antes de COVID - 19 era autoservicio bien, todo era diferente era que una dama estaba sirviendo comida del autoservicio y el general parecía una escuela cena. He desayunado mejor en hoteles más baratos y he dormido mejor en un premier en, así que la próxima vez me quedaré en el premier en cuando visite Chester.

¡Pasé 3 noches en este hotel como parte de nuestra estadía en 2020! Teníamos una habitación deluxe con vistas al canal. La habitación estaba muy limpia y ordenada, con una cama grande y cómoda y unas vistas preciosas al canal. No comimos en el hotel más que el desayuno. El desayuno estaba bien, no era genial, pero estaba bien. El personal era amable y no tengo ninguna queja sobre el hotel en general. El hotel está en una excelente ubicación. Práctico para el centro de la ciudad.

Paramos aquí para una estancia de 2 noches para un breve descanso de la agitada vida comercial y nos detuvimos en una habitación de lujo con vistas al canal. Al entrar en la habitación, era más pequeña de lo que parecía en el sitio, pero no estaba mal. El baño era de buen tamaño y tenía una buena ducha potente, pero tenía un problema con el grifo del lavabo ya que el agua fría salía tibia en el mejor de los casos, lo cual no era bueno si tienes sed para beber agua tibia. .Desafortunadamente, no dormimos bien porque el colchón era duro como una roca y las almohadas eran muy finas, como de unos 2 cm. . La comida estaba bien en los restaurantes pero nada especial.Lo que encontré peor fue que al hacer la exploración habitual por la habitación antes de irnos, encontré un par de bragas de mujer que sobresalían del costado de la cama que no eran mis compañeros. Entonces, obviamente, la habitación no se había limpiado adecuadamente, lo cual es preocupante dada la situación actual de covid.En general, tuvimos una mejor experiencia en una posada de primer nivel la noche siguiente de nuestro recorrido a un cuarto del precio del Mill, con camas mucho más cómodas y comida más agradable y fresca en los restaurantes, y también el estacionamiento era gratuito y abundante, a diferencia de el estrecho y caro aparcamiento del hotel Mill.Así que, para resumir, el molino está cerca de la ciudad y el personal es excelente, pero las habitaciones y la comida son una decepción, así que disculpas el hotel Mill, pero no volveremos.

Excelente de principio a fin .Todo el personal fue amable y profesional. El lugar era encantador y limpio. Hicimos uso del gimnasio, la piscina y un increíble tratamiento de masaje de espalda. También almorzamos en el hotel como parte del Spa Day, que también fue muy bueno. Definitivamente lo recomendaría

Este fue un hotel agradable sin embargo afectado por las restricciones de Covid. El personal era servicial y bondadoso en circunstancias difíciles. Digno de mención fueron Alex en la recepción, Vickie en el bar y el gerente Ian. La comida en el restaurante fue un poco decepcionante y el desayuno fue muy inconsistente en su cocina. En general, un buen descanso a un buen precio.

Hay muchas tiendas vacías y muchas de las atracciones y restaurantes estaban cerrados, probablemente debido a las consecuencias financieras de COVID.Este hotel estaba limpio y las habitaciones estaban bien. Una vez más, debido a COVID, nos dijeron al llegar que el restaurante de barcazas del canal turístico estaba cerrado. También estábamos limitados a la cantidad de tiempo que podíamos pasar en la piscina, en espacios de tiempo de 1 hora. Solo la piscina estaba abierta, por lo que no había sauna ni sala de vapor como se anuncia. La piscina estaba fría y la zona de la piscina necesitaba atención (faltaban mosaicos).El desayuno estaba bien, pero el servicio era lento y las opciones de comida eran muy limitadas.Me siento un poco difícil en general, ya que este hotel no tenía muchas de las características anunciadas.

¿Una posada de viajes / posada Premier ofrece un mejor servicio por una fracción del precio? El check in se apresuró, la habitación fue decepcionante. Reservado Albornoces y zapatillas - ¡Los albornoces estaban manchados y no incluían zapatillas! Intenté reservar con anticipación nuestro espacio para nadar antes de registrarnos y me dijeron que no era necesario, ya que podíamos hacer esto en el registro, pero al registrarnos me dijeron que estaba completamente reservado y que solo tenía un espacio en este momento, pero hubo problemas ¡Solo tengamos 15 minutos de uso de la piscina! Reservé como un regalo para el 40 cumpleaños de mi esposo, pero esta experiencia me echó a perder. Otros huéspedes también se quejaron de que no volverán a visitarnos y recomendarían encarecidamente a sus amigos que NO se alojen en este hotel. !

Una estancia media pero con muchas frustraciones ya que no sería difícil hacer mucho mejor la experiencia.Normalmente no nos quedábamos aquí, pero el hecho de que la piscina estuviera abierta nos convenció de intentarlo. La ubicación está bastante cerca del centro (5 minutos a pie aproximadamente), aunque la zona no es la más atractiva.Las frustraciones comienzan desde el principio: el estacionamiento se cobra (7.50 por día en el momento de la revisión) a pesar de que el hotel es propietario del estacionamiento; prefiero que lo oculten dentro del precio de la habitación que mostrar descaradamente que están apretando dinero de los clientes. Si tiene la audacia de quedarse después del mediodía del día de salida, son 5 más. . . por hora (!) (nuevamente en el momento de la revisión).Debido a Covid, el registro fue lento. Tendría sentido distribuir el registro a lo largo del día, incluso si las habitaciones no estuvieran disponibles de inmediato, para garantizar que se haya realizado el largo proceso de papeleo. Hubo cola en la puerta de las 3 durante más de una hora y no fue posible registrarse antes.La habitación es básica, sin nevera ni aire acondicionado (no me gustaría estar allí durante el clima más cálido, ya que hacía calor incluso cuando el clima estaba húmedo) y estaba cansada en términos de decoración, pero estuvo bien por un par de noches.La piscina estaba bien para lo que necesitábamos, aunque limitada debido a Covid 19: no hay vestuarios, por ejemplo, y el hotel solo alquilaba batas y pantuflas (!) Otro ejemplo de exprimir cada gota de dinero del cliente por muy poco a cambio. Tenía un sistema de reserva debido a restricciones que funcionaba bien.Solo desayunamos, que presumiblemente suele ser buffet. Para nosotros, debido a las restricciones, se sirvió y fue lo suficientemente adecuado. Nuevamente, hubo un sistema de reserva debido a restricciones que funcionó bien para nosotros.No usamos las instalaciones del bar, pero se veían muy bien y eran populares en todo momento.En general, nuestra estadía estuvo bien, pero no sentí que obtuviéramos mucho por nuestro dinero: una estadía costosa para el estándar mínimo para llegar a 3 *. A menos que no hubiera otras opciones, dudo que me quedaría aquí de nuevo, lo cual es una pena, ya que solo unos pocos ajustes en el servicio brindado ayudarían mucho a mejorar este hotel y la experiencia.

Dónde empiezo ! Nuestra habitación definitivamente no se había limpiado a fondo, el tocador y el espejo tenían polvo y suciedad, el baño estaba muy anticuado con baldosas sueltas y silicona sucia, la parte posterior del armario se estaba desprendiendo obviamente había estado así durante algún tiempo ya que había un acumulación de pelusa y suciedad entre las uñas y la parte posterior del armario no se limpió de nuevo, pedí una toalla adicional ya que solo un riel con espacio para que una toalla se seque, ¡pensarías que le pedí un riñón! la comida en el restaurante era mala, podías jugar al tenis con la hamburguesa. el distanciamiento social por parte del camarero del correo era inexistente, él manejaba todos nuestros platos de comida, pelos en patatas y en jarra de leche. y al hacer el registro de salida, intentaron darnos una factura de bebidas reservada en nuestra habitación, ¡3 no habíamos tomado una bebida en el hotel! Por 165 cada uno muy decepcionante

Money making racket. Despite country on lock down refuse to offer money back or change of date. Keeping my money even though it’s impossible for me to visit because of government rules. DONT VISIT EVER. THESE PEOPLE NEED EXPOSING FOR WHAT THEY ARE

Stayed here for one night really enjoyed it located right next to the canal & only 5 minutes walk to the centre of Chester, it took me a few attempts to find my room as there are two parts to the hotel one half on one side of the canal & the other half on the other side joined together by a glass covered bridge. The room were clean tidy and quite modern the food was good & had a good bar area. I used the leisure centre the gym was well equipped something for everyone even for a obsessed body builder the pool and sauna were ok which I made use of them all oh and the staff were very helpful, would I stay here again definitely.

Six of us stayed here for my husbands birthday. We booked deluxe canal side rooms. I didn’t like ours and was immediately and without fuss or extra charge put into a better room. One of our party found the mattress too soft, again it was changed without fuss. All the staff were friendly and helpful and for a three star hotel it was lovely. The hotel is very central just five mins walk to town. We also booked the canal boat for a meal which was excellent value with delicious food.

The room was lovely and cosy. Staff were very friendly and the leisure facilities were wonderful. The bar has a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend the canal boat dinner cruise. The food was delicious, the view wonderful and the whole experience fabulous, and all at a reasonable price., would definitely book again. The hotel is within easy reach of the city and all the bars and a lovely walk down the canal.

Had christmas dinner food was excellant service was fantastic the salmon and prawn starter was fantastic the turkey just melted in your mouth the desert a fantastic choice

Stayed here as a city break to visit Chester and to take advantage of the Christmas Market. Stayed in a double room which had a settee as seating (and I believe it could change to a bed). The decor of the room looked tired and for over £100 a night I’d of expected more. The bathroom had a small bath with a shower coming from the taps (so gravity fed mixer style). It had ok pressure but not amazing. Grouting and sealant wasn’t great and the towel rail came free from the wall and maintenance promptly repaired. Couple of the plug sockets didn’t work although maybe they do for future visitors as I reported the fault. A major fault with the room was the lack of lighting. No main light in the bedroom area and the bathroom wasn’t very well lit either. It could definitely do with a mirror light for those who use makeup or would like to see clearly to shave. The extractor for the bathroom remains on at all times so there’s always a background hum. We are in the bar restaurant on our first night and this was nothing spectacular- dry chips and lacking taste scampi. Breakfast is buffet style although you could order other things which we didn’t discover until the last morning. The most annoying thing was the seating in the breakfast area. Chairs were covered with a stretchy nylon material which appeared to be a base for dressing them for events. When you have friends with limited mobility it’s really hard to get up and down from these. They were also too low for the tables. The only outstanding thing was some of the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, in particular the reception team and the cleaning staff. This place could be so much more and overall it was a let down. A travel lodge would have offered more!

I went on the canal cruise. Was excellent value for money. The food was lovely and the tables were decorated appropriately. The drinks were minimal but they allowed you to buy drinks at the bar before getting on to the boat and bring them on board.

I have to say we have had a fantastic stay at the hotel and would definitely recommend it.We had a meal in the restaurant and I had one of the best steaks I have eaten, however the accompanying mushroom sauce was awful and was replaced by an even worse peppercorn sauce but who needs it with a steak as good as the one served up. I personally only use the sauce for my chips when the steak is so good.My wife had sea bass and it was delicious. On the whole an excellent meal and we would definitely eat in the restaurant again.The hotel is in an excellent position for access to Chesters town centre being on the banks of the canal.We are already planning our return visit and will be back soon.

Stayed for a weekend break. Great hotel,clean,great friendly staff, canal river cruise was fantastic well worth the money. 4 course meal served as you sail up the Shropshire canal.whole trip lasted about 3 hours. Staff area credit to the hotel. Food and drinks reasonably priced.
