A real gem! The best Thai food I have had since Thailand, very reasonable prices and Pat was lovely, highly recommended! We had Tom Yum and Massaman curry, both of which were delicious!

Just had the most delicious birthday meal here. The food was amazing and having several dietary requirements, I felt safe and totally accommodated. The service was friendly and professional and this is totally going to be a regular place we visit. Thank you! OK Walton being in my words a quinticiel town this restaurant after reviewing on Tripadvisor had good reviews? The restaurant website doesn't show the menu very well but still we called in at 8pm. Yes it was a cold night and the restaurant is small but with the door opening with clientele coming and going it was to be honest VERY cold N|O BLODDLY COLD. The food and service very good but was very crampet with the mens toilet needing modernisation. Didn't pay the bill but small bottle of beer £3.75 wow no draught so a less pint would be £7.50 Not on my watch lol Burger bar opposite which looked good Happy days Victor Meldrew

Love this local, small, family run Thai restaurant! Have been a couple of times and the food is great, service is good and I would recommend it if you like Asian food and are in Walton on the Naze.

Wonderful!!! we holiday in Walton every year and always have 2 visits per week stay. We take the grandsons and the staff make sure they are well looked after. Food and service is always excellent, the best Thai food we have every tasted!! CANNOT RECOMMEND ENOUGH!!!!

This lovely little family run restaurant gets better and better every time I go there. 5 of us went for a family birthday last night and we had a wonderful time. The best Thai food i have ever tasted, the waitress was delightful too, nothing was too much trouble. 3 alcoholic drinks each, with a decent tip and so much food we had to get a doggy bag it was £33 each. Amazing value for money. We would definitely recommend a visit to this little gem of a restaurant.

Returning to the Pearl of Samui after a while away shows that little has changed. It’s still an excellent family run Thai restaurant with great service, delicious food and sensible prices. Be sure to try it.

The Thai food here is delicious. It has great flavours and is much more authentic Thai than a lot of other places you find even in London. The family who runs it are very friendly and amazing hosts. I would definitely recommend this place as a food haven tucked in the area.

Out standing would definitely recommend on the beach. Staff are excellent manager, especially nice nothing too much trouble.will 100% be back .

I have been to a lot of Thai restaurants and In full confidence I can say this was my favourite. What’s not to love about going to a long established family run business! It was my girlfriends birthday and they made it special by bringing out cake and providing such a personal service. Food 10/10. Service 10/10 and atmosphere 10/10. This is the fourth time we have eaten at the Pearl and we are never disappointed. Fantastic food and a warm welcome.

Visited today for evening dinner, couldn't have been more impressed. Excellent mixed starters with amazing satay sauce and the mains were brilliant. We had the penang and red curries along with one of the noodle dishes and they were full of flavour, fresh and just amazing. Really loved the food and this will now be my go to restaurant when back in frinton and Walton. If only the local Indian and Chinese takeaways could use this place as a reference. Brilliant, thank you.

My wife and i went here for a meal last week and it was wonderful the food was cooked to perfection i had the stir fried salmon and it was really tasty and for a dessert my wife had the shefs special which was deep fried ice cream it was the size of a tennis ball and she said it was lovely

Very small so booking is essential, great food friendly staff. reasonably priced. If you are staying or passing through Walton its well worth a visit.

Ordered a takeaway for two - food was lovely and good value. Pork dumplings were especially good, will definitely return if we are in the area again.

Delicious food, friendly staff, great value, buzzing ambiance on a Friday evening. Seriously good Thai restaurant tucked away on the Essex coast. Better than any other Thai I have visited, including in London.

Have just had a takeaway which quite frankly was overpriced for the portion that we received of green curry. I don’t think that I can quite describe the grease cakes we got that don’t resemble Thai fish cakes served in Thailand. Having been to Thailand...

Went based on good reviews on trip advisor but disappointed overall. Food average and service slow and unfriendly. Pad Thai greasy, sweet and flavourless, red curry lacking in substance and amount of chicken negligible. Sadly could not recommend.

Booked a table a few days beforehand and lucky we did as every table was reserved. Friendly staff and good service. The food was fresh and tasty. Highly recommend (don’t be put off by the shabby exterior).

Had a delicious takeaway this evening. Delivered to the entrance of the caravan park we are staying in for the weekend. Delivery driver wearing a mask and very Covid secure. Food was delicious especially the beef Massaman curry, meat was so tender. Very punctual too. Highly recommend 5 stars

Hadn’t been here since the Covid Lockdown and it was still as good as ever. The food was exceptional, it was tasty and there was plenty of it.The service was excellent, and when the bill came we had to check it as the price was so reasonable!

Staying in Harwich with very few eating out choices so popped down to Walton for this gem. Cosy, friendly place with absolutely delicious fresh and tasty food. Good veggie /vegan choices (no fish sauce) and filling portions, excellent calue. Glad we went!

Don’t let the somewhat dusty exterior and interior put you off, this is the real deal, a family run Thai restaurant. Food is excellent and authentic, and it’s not as expensive as many Thais. After ribs and soup for starters, my wife had a stir-fry and I had the red curry, all very tasty.Recommended. You may have to book as it a small place that is well spaced.

Our food was delicious apart from the fish cakes which tasted very rubbery and processed.We were also given spicy prawn crackers (complimentary) which were really good to snack on.The restaurant got busy very quickly so we were glad that we had booked an early slot.

We were looking forward to a lovely takeout after reading and hearing rave reviews. It appears that it changed ownership a couple of years ago and unfortunately it doesn't live up to previous standards. The food was greasy and bland. The staff were friendly but we won't be going back.

I can’t comment on the food as it never arrived. I do want to let people know about the chaotic ordering/wait system though so you can decide if it’s worth the wait.I ordered food to collect (they said delivery would be a 2 hour wait) and was told to turn up in an hour, which I did. I paid and waited outside for a further 20mins when the food didn’t arrive I complained and was told it would be a further 30mins. With two small children eating 2 hours after they asked for food was not an option. There was no apology just a ‘we’re really busy’. I would avoid for now until there systems have improved. I was not the only person in this situation.

The most authentic flavor I have found outside of Thailand. This place serves high quality food. They should be in a much bigger area. Talent this good is wasted in such an area, really is too good for this town.

We had a short break in Walton and opted for a takeaway as we had dogs with us. Food was ordered and ready at the time requested. Good value and flavoursome. Staff friendly too. Was disappointed that they were closed on the second night of our stay!

Just had the most wonderfully tasty meal here. Heard the staff were really nice on other reviews.and they absolutely were.mum dad and 3 children. The food was outstanding and had such a lovely time chatting with Mum and having her daughters play us some music on the piano. Really great night.wasnt expecting it to be so great. Highly recomend a nice relaxed meal there.
