Never left a review before but feel this place deserves one… food has always been amazing, but over the past few months they are on another level. one of the best Indian takeaways I’ve ever had consistently.

Not sure if there has been a change of ownership but we used to eat here regularly. Last night was probably the worst Indian meal I have ever had. We threw the entire lot apart from two spoons full. Shame but will never go there again

Just ordered from here and the food was amazing. The food was really hot when I got home. The quantity of it was perfect. The man in the shop was really welcoming and kind. The lady behind the counter was really nice a talkative. 10/10 recommend.

Got a takeaway from hear as we have many times before, the delivery driver said she had been hear 3 times and rung the buzzer and my husband was waiting by the window,then the food was cold because it had been around Harwich, the onion bargees were so hard they shot across the floor my lamb was so tough I couldn't chew it the nans were burnt won't be ordering from gear again used to be the best Indian in Harwich but this was awful

This place has been great for years, but it's got new owners and unfortunately it's gone downhill overnight. Our order took 2 hours and 4 mins to arrive. We were told several times it was out for delivery or being packed as we spoke over phone. When it did arrive I found after delivery 2 dishes were missing anyway! The bombay potatoes were basically inappropriate watery sauce like a soup... never seen anything like it. Won't be back, which is a shame as it was a good takeaway before :(

Two phone calls chasing our food later and food arrived with some main dishes missing. What was there was not great. This takeaway was wonderful a few years back and now it is so bland. We kept biting on whole cardamon pods that taste like soap. The chicken chat didn't have that lovely freshness and zing it used to have, the lamb palak was slow cooked rather than lean chunks of leg meat. Anyway, i spent to meal trying to get through on the phone to get our missing dishes. Got through after half an hour, complained, rest was finally delivered when we were all finished. Safe to say won't ever be ordering again. We don't often get takeaways, this was a celebration and our dinner was ruined, so disappointed. £45 wasted.

last nite curry didnt have taste naans soggy bit doey,onion barg are smaller now ,ive had better,but last nite a let down

I love this take away. The food is a amazing, service is quick and the gentleman who runs the place is welcoming. I can recommend the Balti Chicken Tikka Bhuna and the Chicken Danzac.

First time I had a takeaway it was pretty grim, tasteless food and certainly not a representation of what the dishes should have been. Thought maybe they were having an off night so was happy to try them again. It was no better, in fact it was probably worse. Bland Bland Bland. Suffice to say I won’t be using them again.

I have eaten curry weekly for over 50 years and spent quite a few years in London near Roman Road where every other shop was a curry house so to get customers they had to be good. Thaal of Spices is up there with the best of them, its standards did drop for a few months last year when the owner went to his home country of Bangladesh but it was still the best in the area. Happily the owner is now back and standards are back to being excellent. Shame you cannot eat in, Indian food does taste better when served straight from the kitchen especially the breads. Hint to the owner, "open a restaurant"

I have just had a home delivery of balti meal for one will have to eat it cold later on cos there was too much for me to eat very good value for money thank you.

We have been loyal customers for years and I don't know what has changed but the last year the food has deteriorated. Tonight's was flavourless, chewy lamb, overly tomatoe'y sauces with no spice. So dissapointed. We have had a few meals like this over the last year and I messaged and was told it was because the manager was away and the food would improve again but he has been back some time now and we gave them the benefit of the doubt but it's still awful. Sadly will be trying other local Indian restaurants from now on.

Waited 1hr 40mins when was told 45mins. Everthing greasy. Rong nans sent Lamb has been replaced by beef absolutely shocking service tonigt lost another customer

Often used this place but never again. Maybe it's changed hands but our experience last night was ridiculous!!! Ordered a delivery at 5.30 pm ,was told an hour ,fine we said. At 7ish we rang to see if it was on its way, another half hour we were told.Rang again at 8.30 to enquire what was happening and was told another 20minutes by a very don't careish delivery driver apparently!! At this point I ppolitely requested a refund and was told there was nobody there who could do a refund. Then... actually there was but he was helping in the kitchen....I said I'd hold on the line to make sure the refund was processed and was left waiting 20 more minutes until a very abrupt person came on and said I'd have to wait until the end of the day as the person who issued refunds didn't come in until late!! At no point was anyone apologetic ....and I still have no sigh of a refund. Appalling service.....

Fantastic place. One of the best in Harwich.

First time in a couple of years. Ordered 2 x meal deals which used to be excellent but now only fit for the toilet cutting out the middle man which it did with a vengeance a few hours later. Butter chicken more like a korma with processed chick, dall sag/ ball bag, just a continuously disgusting array of vomit inducing crap. Better quality/value from Iceland. Never again!

Tried to place an order on the phone but apparently "no curry can be made vegan". I assure you, they must certainly can. This would lead me to question whether ANY of their curries are made fresh.

Fantastic! The flavours, portions, smells and colours of all these dishes are excellent...order now! After a long week we fancied a take away to not worry about cooking tonight; well tomorrow is taken care of too because we had so much leftover we are going to be spoilt once again:-)

Used this place while holidaying in Dovercourt over Christmas. Picked the food up to ensure it was hot and found it to be very good. We were told it would be ready in 45 minutes (it was a big order (£70+) and it was. Wouldn't say it was outstanding but it was just what we expected and needed, portion sizes were good. Would use again.

Best Indian takeaway in Harwich.

Placed a large order this evening (£74) food arrived. Certainly nothing special. Personally found it tasteless and not spicy as requested in the vindaloo. Portion size of the main tandoori mixed grill was same size as past orders for the meal deal, but paid extra for full size. This is the 5th time we have ordered and this was by far the worst. Not sure we will be back 😏

Really lovely food never had a bad meal from here. Clean and modern takeaway. Warm and friendly. They also offer delivery. The specials are great value and portion sizes are large too.

This used to be our favourite takeaway Indian but now it's too inconsistent so now we stay clear I'm afraid !

We fancied some authentic Indian food and there is nowhere that gives the same quality and value for money. We took advantage of the £10 deal which is meant for one person but there is easily enough for two people. I highly recommend this establishment.

Yet again a brilliant meal served up by the nicest people around. I cannot praise this eating experience enough, the tastes are wonderful, the quality outstanding, the surroundings delightful. The staff and management are a credit to their profession, well done all and six stars to the chef.🤗

Amazing food we tried it and now completely hooked we moved in across the road so lucky to have this place so close now a regular eating place for us 10/10 place and Mohammed & the staff very welcoming

Sólo una pequeña outlet y que nunca había utilizado antes, pero ahora! Todo de muy buena calidad y muy sabrosa comida - no sólo caliente como muchos sitios. Todo muy bien presentada y el personal muy educado y servicial. Todo parecía limpio y elegante. El aparcamiento es carretera pero no difícil.

Es la mejor tienda de comida hindú en la zona. Otros no son tan buenos como este pero también más caro. La comida es muy sabrosa y de buena calidad.

Good value and they accept Amex but the food quality isn't as good as other local indian restaurants. The butternut squash dish very good but we find that dishes can sometimes have more oil than we'd like.

Unfortunately this is only a take away,but wow what a great one!!! Had a Sunday night special,which is £10 per person,you get a starter,main course,vegetable side dish,rice and a naan bread.Myself and my wife have one each and there is so much food,this however does not take anything away from the quality the food is absolutely gorgeous.They also do this deal on a Wednesday and Thursday night as well.Would highly recommend.
