Room 54 in Bury

A lovely little cafe in Ramsbottom. We had the veggie breakfast which was lovely with the perfect poached egg, veggie black pudding, beans, grilled tomato, mushrooms and toast, all for £8.25. Anne and Mark were very friendly and helpful. My only suggestion would be to substitute one black pudding for a veggie sausage instead of 2 black puddings, then it would be perfect. The hot chocolate with marshmallows was also great. I'll definitely be calling again.

This is our go to for breakfast and lunch at the weekends which we travel over especially for at every opportunity. We love the food, which is amazing, the service, which is very friendly and the owners really try to get to know everyones likes and dislikes.

We didn’t even manage to get seated. My mum has had a few visits and I was excited to experience the amazing the sausage butties. In this particular day it was full to capacity, which is always a good sign. However when we spotted a free table member of staff appeared and said…”you can’t sit here this is reserved! They’ll be here in 15 minutes and I’ve nothing else at all.” When we asked if we could share with another table she said “I don’t know! And you can’t sit on table 3 either.” So we left. I understand it was busy and perhaps she was stressed but this is no excuse for being rude and arrogant. I now feel cheated and I have missed out on experiencing the highly esteemed sausages.

Very friendly staff and food was superb 👌🏽 highly recommend.

Made to feel welcome from the moment we stepped in the door. We enjoyed a lunch which included a special of Lancashire hotpot, full of flavour and tender pieces of lamb. It was up there with the famous Nigel Haworth Hotpot at Northcote Manor back in the day at a fraction of the price. Finished with tasty cake and coffee. Perfect 10 out of 10. Simply outstanding food and service. Will be returning with friends. Definitely recommend Room 54 too all!

Person who served us was rude. We did not feel welcome and we were hungry too. Yep, not great at all.

This is just a lovely place. The staff were very friendly and polite, and there was no issue bringing in our assistance dog - who was more than accommodated. We bought two "Scrummy Hot Chocolates" and their Beans on Toast with cheese (with scrambled egg, if you ask. Be aware that this is the best tasting scrambled egg ever!). Both were amazing and highly recommended as a light snack. The price was surprising at around £11, which was cheaper than A LOT of places. The atmosphere inside was very eclectic, with local art renders decorating the walls. It was very adorable how the customer WC had a proper little shingled roof on top; bringing an outdoor feel inside. This was just an amazing place to eat and relax from the busy main streets of Ramsbottom.

Had the table in the window on Sunday morning 3rd Sept with my family, lovely menu, great hot food, lovely service and a lovely village vibe. Will definitely be visiting again.

Great value, lovely atmosphere, friendly service and the best side slaw for miles. Came for lunch the day before. Liked it so much I’m back with my mum. Highly recommended. Ps. get in early lunch as tables go fast.

What a gem of a place. Called in for brunch whilst stopping off at Ramsbottom on the Steam Train from Burrs Caravan Park. We had Spanish baked eggs with tomato sauce onions and courgettes and Croque madam. The food was delicious! All fresh homemade food. All in all, lovely food and lovely service.

Just lovely. Randomly came across this place and the service was amazing, the food was lovely and the atmosphere was pleasant. The waitress was also very helpful with our dietary requirements. Definitely going again!

We walked past this little gem today and popped in for lunch. We didn’t even know this place existed. Lots and lots of breakfast/brunch choices with healthier options too. A smaller lunch menu was on offer. The staff are welcoming and helpful and don’t mind toddler tantrums. The food was great, really tasty, fresh and plentiful. We left happy and would definitely try this cafe again.

We have fallen inlove with this enchanting little room numbered 54! The food is absolutely 10 out of 10 EVERYTIME. Such a great menu and nothing is too much trouble, honey with my green tea and bacon cooked well done on request. The owners are the loveliest of people and always make you feel so welcome. We were searching for somewhere in the local area where we could have brunch and stumbled across this on tripadvisor and decided to give it a go after reading some reviews! All of our meals were excellent and the service was wonderful. Great value for money and delicious fresh food, a real nice tough was the chef bringing out the meals himself, couldn’t recommend enough! We even ended up buying some extras to take away including the Lancashire sauce (well worth a try). If we’re ever back in the area we will definitely be returning.

Room 54 has always been a great place to have breakfast over the years, but the ownership seems to have recently changed. It’s worth saying that the new owners are very friendly and we really enjoyed our breakfast. Definitely recommend Room 54 if you are looking for a bite to eat in Ramsbottom.

Popped in for the Rammy version of a well known fast food outlets breakfast bun. By far, the better of the two comes from Room 54. I know who gets my vote. Don’t waste your money on that other place, visit Room 54. They even serve hot Vimto. A winner all day long. Lovely atmosphere. Lovely lady serving, happy to chat and explain the menu. We have lived in Helmshore for 10 years and only started going to this lovely little cafe in Ramsbottom last year ..we go for breakfast and it’s always nice served by the lovely couple who own it .. great value to … happy customers

Small but very good cafe. Great quality food and plentiful sized portions. Had a slight wait for a table, but upon return a table was reserved for immediate seating. Recommended for a great breakfast!

Made time for coffee and breakfast with a friend and Room 54 didn't disappoint. Jackie and Dale remember everyone and even when busy, take the time to chat. Breakfast was lovely and it was nice to sit in although their takeaway butties are always amazing!

Dale and Jackie are so friendly , I work in cafes restaurants and hotel catering establishments and have done for the last 35 yrs and these two people are right at the top along with 1 or two more proprietors of similar places I have visited over time. Excellent food and service , highly recommended and absolutely guarantee you wont be disappointed .

Have been to Room 54 a few times and take family and friends there when they visit - it’s easily one of my favourite local places. Delicious food, perfectly cooked every time, and so good and safe for gluten free which I really appreciate as a coeliac Good value too, and lots of options on the menu Lovely atmosphere very cosy and comfortable And to top it off, Jackie and Dale are marvellous, so welcoming and friendly Highly recommend!

I popped in here with my children after we had been to nuttall park, I was in desperate need of coffee and they fancied juice and a cake. Room 54 did not disappoint! We will be back soon, the red velvet cake was my 5 year olds favourite ever cake!!!!

Nothing less than 5* for this gem of a cafe. Low prices (even with the rising costs) and warm and inviting. The owners are friendly and welcoming and treat all their customers like valued family members. Nothing is too much for them. Highly recommended 😄😄😄

Room 54 is a gem of a place. The food is always made with love, of a really high standard and amazing value. You feel like you are in somebody’s home as a cherished guest. I can visit with friends and work colleagues and always know it will be amazing.

It's been a while since we paid Jackie and Dale a vist, but before the eldest returned to Uni, breakfast barms were a must. Never a bad experience, service was quick despite it being a busy Saturday and the food did not disappoint!

What a delightful cafe in Ramsbottom! A delicious selection of cakes, sandwiches and treats and also catering for gluten free and vegan with delicious flapjacks and cake selections. I love coming here with my children, the owners are the loveliest and friendliest hosts I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, absolutely wonderful place, absolutely worth a visit!

Walked up and down the streets looking for nice place for lunch. Initially wanted takeaway to eat in car but once inside just had to stay! Ordered ciabattas and coffee. Really impressed with what was served. Side salad (didn’t expect) was really fresh and much better than most. Ciabattas we’re lovely. Great portions and served by really friendly owners. Would highly recommend this little gem of a cafe/restaurant. Great coffee too!

Having had the worst over priced butties EVER at Hebden Sarnies, Hebden bridge, I walked past Room 54, saw vegan options at around £5-7 & had to sample to compare!! I’ve had the vegan sausage butty with caramelised onions, she’s added additional grilled tomatoes, the ciabatta is large, with vegan spread on too & there’s tons of sausage! Served on a large plate with a well presented dressed salad. Hebden Sarnies take note, this is how you do butties simply & well. Can’t believe HS charge £8 for their absolute jokes - Both of these towns are historical towns, tourist traps, with plenty going on. The price difference for the quality I’ve been served is huge. Service here also fab, asking if I wanted extras on my order & checking if everything’s ok! Leaving stuffed & happy, will be back!

Called in on a dark miserable day for lunch. What a warm welcome we received. The service was excellent and the food was scrumptious. We enjoyed reading all the witty quotes on the wall too. Brightened up our dull day. Would recommend strongly and we will be returning soon.

We went to Ramsbottom hoping we'd find a cafe for some lunch - as we walked past Room 54 we thought it looked like our kind of cafe and we were blown away - the food was delicious, the portions were big and it felt like we'd been invited into someone's home, we left feeling really cared for and happy. We took my 4 year old son who hasn't stopped talking about the how kind the people in the cafe were - they knew exactly how to negotiate with and feed a 4 year old! I honestly couldn't recommend this beautiful cafe more, thank you!

A lovely boutique cafe. We stopped for lunch and were really impressed with the generous portion sizes and quality of ingredients. The owners are great and clearly care about providing excellent service and food. I also bought some coffee to take home and it's the best coffee I've ever tasted!

Cosy place, only managed to eat in once before lock down, but the food was good. We stop by now on our walks for coffee and teacakes, they are not only the best option in the area but probably the best value.

What can I say about room 54 that would make you understand how much love is shown to their customers...We started to go in there a few years ago, actually we called in one morning on the way to my daughters speech and language appointment. Jackie came over to speak to Gracie(my daughter) Gracie didn't really talk back due to her lack of confidence with her speech. I explained to Jackie she had a speech and language delay and isn't confident in talking to new people. On our way out Jackie came over with a treat for Gracie for after her speech and language appointment - that little gesture made a big difference and we are now regulars and it's Gracie's favourite place. On Gracie's 7th birthday during lockdown she asked for Jackies scrambled eggs - apparently they're the best(better than mine) and it came with a birthday card. The food is always amazing and Jackie will change any item to accommodate your needs. My eldest daughter is autistic and only likes her food a certain way and Jackie gets it right everytime and goes above and beyond to make sure we feel comfortable. I must also add you get served of a lovely gent named Dale - always cheerful, makes a mean latte and always remembers what you normally have! Honestly we always feel like part of the family when we go in!

Best cafe in Ramsbottom by far... we drive 8 miles to it as its that good...and fantastic that as of tomorrow, despite the 'lockdown' they will still be doing their delicious cakes and sandwiches, teas and coffees to take away 😃 😃

Popped in today for a bit of lunch. So glad we did. Best mushroom soup I have ever tasted, great chicken sandwich, bursting with tasty chicken. Soup so good, I ordered a carton to takeaway. Reasonable prices and best of all, lovely hosts who are still providing excellent friendly service, despite the obstacles Covid presents to small businesses. Definitely recommend and certainly be back.

Visited room 54 and loved it, the food was great and very friendly staff. Clearly very COVID safe with all the relevant guidance and guidelines in place, I felt very safe and would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family. I look forward to coming back very soon. BBQ chicken ciabatta was beautiful and a lovely cappuccino. Thank you Jackie and Dale for such a great lunch :)

I went here today with my daughter for the first time. Due to covid there were only 2tables available to sit in. We were warmly welcomed and directed to the available table with menus. After perusing the menu my daughter chose a ham, cheese and mushroom omelette which was served with fresh salad and crisps and a cola. I chose warm chicken and stuffing on a brown bap with salad and crisps with an americano. The food was fresh and delicious, coffee perfect, not too weak like you sometimes get. The bill just over £15! What's not to like. There was a steady flow of take away customers and the proprietors were professional, pleasant efficient and friendly. We will certainly return.

I reviewed this place back in June '14 when we first moved here and it wasn't very good. That however was when it ran by the previous owners. The 'new' owners have transformed it into somewhere very welcoming with lovely honest comfort made with care and love. I've used it a lot during lockdown and it always it fab. The Vegan options are decent especially the cakes and the coffee is excellent. All round a great place to get something to eat from with lovely and welcoming owners.
