Nice pub with reasonable prices and good service.

Fab wee pub, and even better service the staff were so lovely and also decent prices for city centre. Overall good vibes been here a few times and I’ll be back again

We booked the mezzanine level for a large party for dinner and drinks. Staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. All the food was lovely as were the drinks. We were very impressed with the price of everything. We stayed longer than anticipated as the DJ was playing hit after hit. Great night, will definitely be back!

We always enjoy our city breaks to Glasgow and a visit to the Maltman is mandatory! The atmosphere is great with lots of TVs for sports and depending on the time of day you go there is music too! The staff are always lovely and Karen is always so attentive each time we visit! Looking forward to our next break in the summer and to visit the Maltman again!

Great food, lovely pints, plenty of tv’s.

The service and beer was good, but the steak sandwich was on untoasted grocery store white bread, was under seasoned, and the rocket salad that came with it was gritty (although it had a good flavor). There was also no sport being shown on the TVs, just live updates of all the games we weren’t watching.

Nice place in the city centre, wide selection of drinks, keen prices and one of only a handful of pubs in the city centre that showed the 6 nations rugby matches. Well worth a visit.

Visited this place with my friends and it was perfect for having a relaxed time catching up. The staff members were really welcoming, especially Elizabeth, who was very helpful and kind.

Even from the outside the pub looks inviting with its beautiful navy blue front! As soon as you walk in the door, the atmosphere is very jovial - I've been in a few times and the place is always decorated for the occasion! Be it some flag buntings or other, it's the little touches that make a place more welcoming. The service at the bar was quick, with them pointing me in the right direction of a very picturesque booth. The addition of movable back cushions is a fine touch for a pub establishment! We were a group of 6, and so a nuisance to cater for when it comes to food ordering, but the food arrived in a timely fashion, and perfectly cooked across the boards. It was extremely lovely of the server to also let us know that a portion of chips was not far behind (super servers are still only able to carry so much!). With a few check ins to make sure everything was okay from separate staff, the atmosphere is one which highlights there is true care from those who work here. The manager also came over to say Hi, which showed even more that the Maltman cares for its patrons, and was seen mingling with patrons at multiple tables. Nothing is more down to earth than seeing someone involved with the people who pay a visit. If this wasn't enough of a review, I thought it especially thoughtful that on the menu there was an option to order 'an invisible mac and cheese' to promote and contribute to the charity the pub sponsors. In case its not obvious, this pub is definitely worth a visit! Or multiple if you are me!!

I went here for a quiet night out and was pleasantly surprised by the excellently decorated pub and incredibly polite bar staff. Arlo served us drinks and was very helpful in recommending different wines for us to try, all while being very friendly and welcoming.

All around great service. Had lunch here and had the fish and chips. The staff were always accommodating and happy to be of service. I was served by Arlo and have no complaints. Made sure I was enjoying my meal and that I had all that I could want to accompany it. Lovely atmosphere here with televisions all around to be entertained while eating or drinking, even on your own. 10/10, would definitely come again and recommend to friends and family

Food was definitely great! Loved the fish and chips while getting served by Zaym with their great service and hospitality. The visit to the restaurant definitely made my day ☺️

We were served by fantastic bar staff member Arlo they were very friendly, welcoming and very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely come back with a group of friends on a night out highly recommend Arlo who took the order for our meal and drinks and was very patient and helpful while we took a while to decide. She was also very helpful in recommending amazing cocktails very warm and friendly over all good customer service. Would recommend Arlo and The Maltman to all our friends

The fish was fantastic. My mother said 'it was the best piece of haddock I have ever had'. It was beautiful. The batter melted in the mouth as did the fish. Thank you.

In to watch the football with friends. Great atmosphere with big TVs and great sound, staff are lovely. Food was great too. Would recommend. Definitely be back.

Attended for a working dinner and found the staff to be very accommodating and pleasant and professional. The seating area provided was clean, warm and allowed us to discuss in a safe space. The food arrived well presented warm and very tasty. The cost of the food was very good and I would highly recommend this as a venue for either business or pleasure. Will be back next month for a different event thank you to your staff and manager for making our visit pleasant

Stopped here for something to eat with the family. The food was very delicious and not one of us in our group had any complaints. Staff were also very friendly. Will definitely be back in again some time soon. Keep up the good work!!

Was in here the other day playing the gambling terminal near the door what a complete scam £200 for the bonus to hit on 50p stake and it pays £2.50... Eye of horus mega ways what a scam and a joke I told the Co manager to his face it was bang out of order the Co manager I put 300 into that machine that was 1000% scammed me least to say I am very annoyed and the manager doesn't deserve your business he would want EVERYONE to go broke on his machines! Ive actually been starving for two days last meal I ate was macdonalds Wednesday night at 11 becuase of this horrendous multiple bonuses.... (like 5) but none of them paid what they should.

Spent Saturday night in the Maltman. The atmosphere you want in any pub. The place was really busy, the soundtrack was excellent and not too long to wait at the bar to get served. Everyone in our party who had food really enjoyed it. Very close to central station for the train.

Quite quiet when we were in so not much atmosphere, but it was nicely decorated. Had the steak pie with mash and peas and it was excellent - highly recommend it.

Went there for the first time 3 weeks ago had a brilliant time. Drinks were a reasonable price,bar staff were friendly . Has a DJ every Fri, Sat night, good atmosphere, clientele are a mixture of all ages. Have to give this place 4 stars 😁

This pub is quiet but I think footfall is down following the aftermath of the pandemic. You should go along if you like a quiet meal of pub grub.

Lovely pub. However, not impressed with the food or food service. We ordered sharers. After ordering and paying, we were then told there was no turnip for the haggis, neeps and tatties. Our food arrived (minus 2 of the dishes) and no side plates. It was luke warm at best. My partner had to go seek someone out for the 2 missing dishes. By the time they arrived, along with the side plates, the other food was cold including fried cheese which was no longer soft. I complained to the waiter who simply said "sorry" then asked how long our other food had been out. I told him sorry wasn't going to solve the issue of cold food. To which he simply walked away, with no offer to try to resolve this. We therefore ate the cold food, which was OK but I'm sure would have been better had it been served hot and together, along with side plates, in the first place.

Had a few drinks on Saturday night. place was jumping, music was great, and the drinks were decent priced.. definitely be back

Amazing atmosphere, music good bar efficient and friendly

I havnt ordered food because you need to have a table number and we don't get a table for an hour or so as it's already packed. Once you've had a few drinks the atmosphere takes your mind off the food anyway 😊

The quietest i have ever seen this bar. Only a handful of people actually in it. Used to be rammed and an excellent wee bar. Still good service and lots of drinks just needs some more customers.

I had a fantastic experience at the pub. The goijons, wings, and squid were all exceptionally delicious. Tom, our server, was a true professional – wonderful and friendly. When we visit Scotland again, we will definitely come back to this place.

Group of 4 Aussies had the best morning and afternoon at the Maltman - Friday 15 September 2023. My birthday and my AFL Team, the Carlton Blues defeated Melbourne Demons, to progress to next week's elimination finals against Brisbane Lions. The staff couldn't have accommodated us anymore with their professional and friendly service.

Stopped here for a couple of pints today. The bar tender was super courteous and we had a really good time. We didn't have any food, but what we saw being served looked really good.

Went in for the Scotland game and a lovely young man named Finlay gave us 10/10 service, very polite and was excellent throughout the entire time i was there.

Went in for the Scotland game last night and the service was amazing, there was a young lad called Finlay who made sure me and my mates were sound throughout the night and was very chatty and a all around good bloke.

Hi atmosphere was brilliant watching Scotland game but sadly food was really poorly we was hungry when we got there my wife got scampi which was level above cold and my steak pie 8 bits of meat alot of flaky pastryand jst above cold not nice at all

The food was absolutely amazing! I had a steak cooked to perfection, and the wife had an outstanding burger, really excellent value for money. Staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful. First time visit, will definitely be back

Bit short of atmosphere, good beer and vodka

Stopped off for around 6 pm for traditional Scottish pub food for the last meal of our vacation. Made our order at the bar and had to change it four times as they were out out of half the things we wanted. They were apologetic about it and brought out our dinner. Although it was tasty, the mushy peas were missing from two plates and the homemade relish was missing from another. Prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was good but too many letdowns. Men's room smells of an overused litter box.

Still my favourite pub in Glasgow. We took our American friends and they had never experienced such a friendly and fun night out. Always good for a dance

C'est un pub, donc le plus important la bière: un bon choix avec du classique comme de la Guinness mais aussi une excellente IPA en pression, la beaverneckoil. La nourriture, ben c'est de la bouffe de pub, grasse et roborative, mais c'est ce que l'on recherche...et c'est pas cher. Les plats enfants ne valent rien, même pas 5 pounds si je me souviens bien. Had a works night out celebrating a birthday and Hen night. Food came out a bit slowly due to our numbers (15 -18 people) . Basic pub grub, but not the best as some fish was over done, sparse portions of chips with the meals, just a basic bowl of macaroni no trimmings 😏. Ladies toilet had one disgustingly dirty loo and another which you had to hold to close and a few light bulbs not working over certain cubicles. The upside is the music played by the dj. We had a good time on the dance floor ( apart from the guys who think it's OK to dance with a pint in your hand. In my day (80's) you were never allowed on the dance floor with a drink in your hand. Used to go here loads for the music about 4yrs ago , but it has gone downhill unfortunately 😔

Waren eerst binnen bij de buren om de hoek, maar daar was het erg druk maar wel gezellig. Toen we even wilde gaan zitten gingen we hierheen. Van buiten ziet het er uit als een gezellige pub, en heeft het werkelijk alles, goede authentieke uitstraling, locatie en ruimte. Vervolgens loop je naar binnen, misschien 15 mensen binnen, en dat op de vrijdag avond. Maar erg gek was het niet want er stond 00 hiphop aan, zo hard dat je trommelvliezen bijna uit elkaar spatte. Hierdoor krijgt de pub een ontzettend zielige uitstraling een hele grote tent, met gigantisch harde muziek, en dan met 15 mensen binnen. Het lijkt wel alsof de pub een identiteitscrisis ervaart. Wordt of een goede discotheek, of een gezellige pub. Maar niet halfbakken er tussen in, erg zonde dit….

Nice and clean. Great atmosphere. Really nice cider. Plenty of choice of drinks. Did not order food. Staff nice too. Will definitely be back on my next visit.

Went in on Sun nyt wacth the playoff with County n thistle. Order a burger n chease was kind of overcooked 2 onions rings and a very small portion of chips. For the price was not even thet great. The pint was good. During the game, it ended in pens. I cheared on county, but to other idiots wanted to have a go with me for no reason, given bar staff unhelpful part v being told I should go. WHY??? THE PLACE IS EMPTY...ONLY FOR TO THUGS WANTED 2 SPOILT MY NYT.....WONT B BACK ..DUE TO THIS ....THER SORE LOSERS....

Un excelente bar para pasar un buen tiempo, las bebidas bien servidas, la comida muy sabrosa , el ambiente es formidable, el personal es muy atento, los precios son muy accesibles, el el corazón de Glasgow, Escocia.

What a fantastic visit. Great welcome from friendly staff, child beer and the most delicious food. I had the new Balmoral chicken served with a whisky sauce, chips and the freshest garden peas. Lol. My partner had the Balmoral burger and he said it is the best burger he has ever had!!!!! High praise indeed. Thank you fir a great visit. Sorry about the photo - forgot to take one before we started. ;)
