Arrogant, Unprofessional Bunch .

Visited Hyatt Churchill for the first time and went for dinner at Montague. Omg the food was amazing. I had the ribeye and sweet potato fries with broccoli. The portions were more than enough for two people. The atmosphere is between lounge and dining. The service and the staff were very attentive. I enjoyed my food very much definitely recommended by #kaalameriyan

This was our first visit to The Montagu and definitely won't be our last. The food was delicious, steak being the highlight which was cooked perfectly. The sides were perfect too and the quantity of the dishes were more than what we expected. The restaurant is worth the money spent. Special thanks to our host Ivanna who was friendly and attentive. Food was very nice, prices were reasonable for the food quality. The service was utterly inadequate. First, they seemed to lack knowledge of their own menu. Second, everything moved at a glacial pace. It took them 5 minutes to pour a glass of wine, despite the restaurant being almost empty. We had to ask 3 times for more tap water. When I asked about the sorbets available, the waiter offered chocolate or vanilla ice cream. A single scoop of vanilla took 15 minutes to arrive at my table. Funnily enough, the only thing the staff did quickly was take the payment at the end. The waiters seemed to value the style and form of their service much more than any effectiveness or personability. Avoid this restaurant if you value good service.

Not only that the food was great, but the service and the workers there were very professional and nice, after having my meal i lost my ring in the ladies room, after two days i visited them to ask about and they have been keeping it safe and they did so much effort to give it back to me at the soonest. I did celebrate my birthday there. The food was excellent, the staff's attention was impeccable and very friendly; also, the attention to detail was superb. I appreciated the details. The tables are well spaced and give you some privacy. Apart from that, as we were staying at the hotel, I enjoyed the buffet breakfast, which was great with a lot of variety and service, again, was exceptional.Thank you all!

I just have to say that this place is Extraordinary, the attention was exceptional, the food so delicious, and the best part of the evening was Giorgio, he is so kind, he explained every detail in the menu (because I’m vegetarian) so he was really helpful, and charming, if you come you will be very lucky if he takes care of your table. I really would recommend this place for any occasion.

Food was good but service is very poor for Hyatt Regency standard. Stayed here for 7 nights and every breakfast was the same. We had to fight to get the waiters attention and coffee usually arrived just as we’re about to finish our breakfast. They can do much better!

Service was great and staff were very friendly, got a few starters sides and mains. The starters were great, the sides were okay, as for the main i got the Halal baby chicken, it was very disappointing and the presentation was disappointing too compared to the rest of the things we ordered. I really would recommend you change the sauce on the baby chicken as its very unpleasant and does not work well as a dish

Went there with my wife on sat night. Atmosphere was not great. Lots of empty tables, bad lighting. Not romantic. The restaurant feels pretty much part of the hotel, like the hotel canteen. Food is overpriced and below average. All food was soaked in butter. We ordered scallops, a fillet steak, and artichoke risotto. All soaked in butter. The risotto was a soup!! They even asked me if I wanted to eat it with a spoon. Wine list is very limited and choice is not great. I would have expected a lot more from this place considering the reviews . May be we ordered the wrong things but we were both disappointed .

What a beautiful place with excellent service and food. So good in fact, we went back again and had a wonderful experience.

Everything was excellent. The menu had a great selection, and all of it was well presented and delicious. The staff were very accommodating and attentive, which was great as we were celebrating a special occasion. Would definitely go back again.

Fantastic free flowing champagne brunch! The restaurant was unexpectedly quite quiet. Maybe because it was the first weekend following the death of the Queen, but whatever the reason, the service was exceptional and the food excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed with soft music in the background. We had not been to the restaurant since just before the covid pandemic, so it had been a while. However, with a change of menu and there no longer being a partial buffet service, we felt the full table service worked better than before. The food was delicious, ranging from traditional brunch options to vegan options, it was all excellent. We opted for the free flowing champagne, rather than"bubbles" There is extra charge for this but we thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was attentive and generous, we never had an empty glass. We would definitely recommend this restaurant for brunch and we will definitely be back much sooner than before!

Picked this restaurant for a business lunch close to our guest's office. Helpful and friendly staff. Food was really tasty, served pretty quickly and great value. Relaxed atmosphere and quiet so easy to talk. Would definitely come back.

The food and presentation were excellent. The tasting menu was inventive and delicious. The other members of the party split the aged ribeye for 2 and would order the same again. This meal exceeded my expectations

We had diner at restaurant The Montagu and the staff was so kind with us. When we arrived the lady, what I think is a hostess offered us to take our jackets and give us the perfect table for which we had asked. The lady wich served us, her name was Angelika was brilliant. She recommended us wine, the wine was excellent. The food what she recommended was amazing as well. We asked Angelika to move us to the bar if that is possible, was possible and she escort us to the bar, where the service was gorgeous as well. Thanks to the whole team from Hyatt Regency London and mostly to Angelika for that you made our night magical.

Hmm... Been coming here many times over the years. Will be back - but not for Sunday brunch. Food sadly a bit hit and miss, and we're not convinced by the concept. Despite the restaurant being really quiet, service was a bit... awkward. Definitely a regular a la carte lunch next time (not available on a Sunday though)

Came with my mum for the Easter Sunday Brunch. The food was high quality, however it was not as good as the Mothers' Day brunch from 2019, which primed my expectation. There was a decent selection of tasty starters, with prawns, mussels, oysters, gravad lax, charcuterie and salads. We had the roast beef for the main course which was lovely. Probably the lamb and the cold poached salmon would have been nice too, but there were only these three mains! There was a nice selection of three bite-sized desserts, a chocolate fountain with fruit and marshmallows, and a cheese board. For drinks you could go for either bottomless soft drinks, or bottomless champagne, which we chose. The price was the main problem. £90pp for the food, £40pp for the champagne, plus service... came to nearly £300 for the two of us! Good though the food was, this just wasn't worth it - I'd have been content to pay £200 but not £300. You could tell the rest of London felt the same way, as there were only five tables occupied! There was a jazz trio, they weren't great but were unobtrusive and added a pleasant vibe. If they could have had just a couple more choices in all three courses (but *definitely* the mains), and charged say £70pp for the food and £30pp for champagne, it would have been a winner and they'd have been full. As it is I probably won't come again for any special occasion brunches. A pity, as the 2019 Mothers' Day was so memorable.

Food was fine, service lacking. Not being in the "British service side" felt ignored. Possible lack of staff, but higher priced area had more people in suits attending tables.

The Montagu continues to be an oasis of calm and spacious comfort in the centre of Maryebone, very conveniently situated on the edge of Portman Square. Beautifully appointed, and fairly recently redecorated, in muted tones with large tables and vey comfortable chairs. Quiet, relaxing ambience with unobtrusive background music. Very professional and attentive staff. Always on hand to see to client's needs. An imaginative menu with a range of smaller dishes to mix and match. Beautifully cooked and presented food and an equally good wine list. Quite expensive but value for money in terms of the quality of food, service and surroundings.

The food was outstanding and the dishes were very well balanced with careful attention to details. The new menu of the head chef Gianluca Augello was simply fantastic and the tasting menu is strongly recommended. The service was very good and the ambience comfortable. Very good value for money.

The restaurant is both welcoming and sophisticated, the food was delightful and our waitress was very friendly and attentive; she made us feel extra special by bringing out a celebratory cake and then walked us through to the Churchill bar after our meal and very kindly presented us to an awaiting waiter in front of the whole room which certainly made us feel somewhat important! Thank you :-)

Best afternoon tea in London! We will come back !!

We have eaten here a number of times before and used to good food and service. But the menu has changed and become avantgarde and just too much when you just want a good dinner. You are advised to order 2 or 3 starters mouthfuls and 3 main courses. Who wants to do that much thinking!? Might be good for a special meal but we won’t be back as just too difficult to navigate.

I had the most great experience. My sister was visiting me in London, and I wanted to take her to a nice place yet somewhere with nice British food. So we went to The Montagu Kitchen. The food was so delicious, meat was so well cooked, the scallops were made in perfection as well as scotch egg... Everything was very tasty. The service was great. Joao was very attentive and looked after us very well.. I highly recommend the place and definitely will be back soon.

Although the staff were pleasant and attentive the menu left a lot to be desired. Total confusion as to what was being offered and when it did arrive it did not appear to bear any relationship to what our party thought they were getting. As far as the prices were concerned, certainly not value for money. Sorry, but would not return.

Good service , live music, delicious Sunday lunch

I had never heard of this place, until I realised I had some Hyatt points due to expire soon, and started searching for restaurants at Hyatt hotels (of which there are not many in London). We ended up visiting for dinner on a Sunday evening. The restaurant section was pretty much empty throughout the meal, although the adjacent bar/snack area was much busier. The décor was nice, with soft undertones, giving the place a cosy feel. I liked the menu structure, split into distinct snacks, veg, seafood and meat sections with the recommendation to pick a couple of items from each section. The two of us ordered the bread, bubble & squeak, potato croquettes, artichoke, seafood scotch egg, lemon sole, scallops, baby chicken and the lamb. It sounds like a lot of food, and it was, but the portion sizes are quite small and we did finish it all. We also both tried the chocolate hazelnut dessert. The food was excellent! Many different items, but all of them were really well done and professionally presented. It was hard to pick any faults. We had our two young kids with us, and even the stuff we ordered from the kids menu was very good. They do a really nice Old Fashioned as well. Service was friendly but a bit slow. Our server was also attending to tables at the adjacent bar area. He seemed to be thinly spread and it was difficult to get his attention. That said, the food was delivered at a reasonable pace, especially considering each ‘section’ of the menu was served individually, effectively making it a 5 course meal. The bill (before deducting Hyatt points) came to £285, of which £85 was spent on drinks. This felt a bit excessive, definitely ‘hotel prices’, even though this was not a particularly posh hotel. Although I can’t knock the food, I would have expected far more attentive service, and a more refined atmosphere as well at this price point. Overall, this was a surprisingly good meal. We came in with average expectations, just trying to use up some points, but ended up enjoying some excellent, Michelin star quality food. Shame about the service and pricing, but I would still consider a second visit.

Sadly we arrived and the lunch menu you had booked us for had finished. After an awkward 5 minutes of us feeling like we had done something wrong, we were sat at a table and they started the kitchen back up to accommodate the set lunch menu. Food was lovely, as was the setting. We were asked if we’d like to see the dessert menu, but it was never bought to us. Thankfully we were full from our first 2 courses, so it wasn’t a problem to us.

Tried to force everyone on the table to order food even though some of us weren't hungry and our family was staying at the hotel. Would really expect a bit more understanding from this type of an establishment.

Nice place and lovely staff but just about average food and service. Asked for the kids menu and we never received. Had to ask twice for other things, didn't have any juices available for brunch time, food was average and incredibly expensive for what it was. In summary nothing about this place differentiated it here from other places. Not worth eating here... for brunch anyway.

Lovely open space, great service but disappointing food. The dishes were nicely presented but the portions were small. The main course was the most disappointing. Chicken wasn’t cooked well and the souse was to salty for my liking. The corn was very tasty, but difficult to eat. Salad looked interesting and the desert was quite nice. I wonder if we would enjoy the food more if we have chosen different option.

Nice upmarket restaurant and service was quite good. However……. Asked for a table with a view and got sat by a mirror. Ordered the bone in Rib-eye that was meant to take 40 minutes to prepare. It took much longer. .

Staff were so wonderfully welcoming, attentive and made us feel so special on our birthdays. This is the 2nd time we've visited and so excited to go back!

We particularly wanted a Kir to drink but the bottle of cassis was at the bar 10 mtrs away and could not be served in the restaurant. Not the best start. Next the menus were presented and immediately introduced by the restaurant manageress. This was not a relaxing experience. She was very forthright and kept telling us how small all the dishes were and how we were going to be hungry. It was completely the wrong tone and felt absurd. She then asked if we wanted 2 glasses of champagne at £22 a glass. We have never experienced such a misguided introduction. We knew other people dining and have since discovered they felt exactly the same. We orders the tasting menu and it was sublime. Excellent value for money and we had the rosemary bread as an extra. I can’t praise the food enough or the other serving staff. Simply fantastic. Fix this one issue and grab the cassis and perfect

There are many fine dining options in London, but I came back to the Montagu Kitchen at Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill for the second time within a week to host a visiting friend. Taking care of our table, Anisa was very professional. All dishes were beautifully decorated and absolutely delicious, confirming the consistency of food quality. If you often stay for months at a hotel or dine at a hotel’s restaurants several times per week, you will soon get bored with having the same food over time. Hence, you certainly notice that the Executive Chef at the Montagu Kitchen well understands customer perception by offering multiple lunch menus throughout the week, allowing frequent customers to enjoy the familiar 5-star ambiance of a Hyatt hotel while stimulating their appetite with food excitement. Whilst seeing many hotels’ restaurants rarely changing their menus due to conservative views or complex operations, perhaps? I guess, by thinking out of the box with this clever strategy, the Montagu Kitchen could attract and retain many gastronomy lovers.

Absolutely amazing experience at The Montagu Kitchen! From the welcome to the very last bite. Staff was very knowledgable and explained detailed their new concept of the menu!Must say it’s phenomenal! Every dish is a masterpiece! Many options for different taste! Especially loved the scallops and beef tartar served so artistically! And they also focus on sustainability which is so much important for our world! Can’t wait to comeback!
