Today I visited the phoenix there was one bartender name fardeen gave me the good service I was very happy with it thanks you for keeping such a nice people I’ll make sure to come back same place

Great location, for a low-key chilled time with friends, affordable pricing, Abdul and Sai were great at recommending us drinks!

Still the good old phoenix,used to be a regular since 1980 while working for John collier in Oxford street now living in Norfolk Have many happy memories, hope to visit again

This is one of my favourite burger places at the moment. Nice atmosphere, good music and really friendly staff. There's a choice of different gins and the beer selection is quite impressive.

Was there to see a comedy show downstairs. Nice pub with friendly service.

The Phoenix is a great place! I have been there a couple of times, and it never dissapoints. The food is great and the service is amazing. I recently went there with my work colleagues, and Chelsea who was our waiter gave us as a really great service that day. She was very caring and supported us on a quick service on food, as one of our colleagues had to leave earlier. Thank you Chelsea again for your genuine great service!😊✨️

Very pleasant staff, always polite and helpful especially the young lady Chelsea.

Padrón pepper have 2 ingredients: peppers and salt. They forgot the salt. The chimichurri sub was cold. The bread was cold, the meat (steak!!) was cold. The chimichurri had some kind of greens in it, but I couldn't taste any parsley (main ingredient!!) on top of it, it was blended. The bartender couldn't recommend any beer or ale, because he didn't know how they tasted like. It's all show and no skill.

EDITED IN RESPONSE TO THEIR REPLY BELOW There was no miscommunication on our part. The waiter moved the table and allowed us a full table. We ordered and whilst we were eating, the original waiter’s boss (ponytail, caucasian, glasses, started being very verbally aggressive with everyone and said “if you don’t move the table in the next two mins im going to get fired”. The fact this company is placing blame on customers for a mistake they made, is a disrespect. They also banned us from ordering more drinks because we didn’t move the table - MID WAY THROUGH EATING?!?! I will never be drinking, eating or recommending anyone go there. It’s a real shame because there was around 15 of us. There was absolutely no miscommunication from us, they knew the group size, they served us, then expected us to move a table mid way through eating. If they cared about health and safety, they’d have moved the table themselves, not ask customers to, especially a lady! I appreciate the offer a chance for a call, but won’t be ringing because it is apparent that the below wasn’t respectfully accepted and therefore, I’d like to end this discussion. Please take this as a note to be kind to customers and treat people with respect and not make anyone feel uncomfortable. ________ We had a team outing and one of the waiters served us. He moved a table to allow us to all sit and eat together. We ordered 7 fish and chips and then were told only 4 were available Then the waiters boss asked us to MOVE THE TABLE Whilst eating. Poor service. His name is Richard and he has a ponytail and glasses. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour arguing with our team, harassing members and asking me to “look him in the eye”. He’s very lucky we aren’t pressing charges for assault.

Their regular themed dance nights are great, provided it’s the music you really like. Nostalgic and fun.

This place is dark, no atmosphere, nearly 15gbp for 2 pints. The staff have bad attitudes, they will treat you badly and judge you on how you look. Spend your money elsewhere, where hopefully you will get treated better. The staff have a don't care attitude

The place was empty and the service was slow, we got looked at like we were something from out of space because of how we looked. I watched how others were treated and they were treated much better than us, we were discriminated for how we looked. The red haired girl wouldn't wouldn't serve us, she walked off. The other woman had to serve us and was miserable to us, but nice to everyone else!. Don't treat people this way. We were really nice and polite and you think it's ok to judge us on how we look?. I am not judging you, so please don't judge me and treat me badly. Pub empty and dark, no atmosphere, staff drinking and making personal calls on duty, loads of glasses just left all over the bar, looking messy. Staff have no manners and will judge you. Nearly 15gbp for 2 pints, go somewhere else, don't bother.

We've held many work functions in The Phoenix attending the SFMQ and each time you have dealt with our food pre-orders efficiently and punctually and your bar staff are helpful and friendly

A nice atmosphere pub, play nice music, but do not order cocktails in this place. Cost a lot but taste rubbish. Just basic drinks is a a good choice. Toilets smelled so bad it made me throw up a little.

We have been downstairs in a harsh rainy day and we have been welcomed with a lovely smile of Niki. She was very helpful and we can tell she does her job with her heart! Beer was excellent too. We will definitelly be back!

The best Pub for food in this area. Spite of being very busy service was really good. Highly recommended

We enjoyed the pub and met a really friendly American barman. However, the manager with a South African accent was incredibly rude and unprofessional, refusing to honour a simple offer. We paid instead at the first time of asking but he continued to be needlessly rude to us.

The burger was black and hard, the bun was rock hard, the fires were reheated, the onion rings were little fired pieces of old onion rings that were cold. Seems all the food was reheated. The manager was rude, saying in the history of the pub, no one has EVER complained about the food even once.

On the website it gives the closing time as midnight. I arranged to meet 20 friends for an aftershow drink only to be told when we got there they had stopped serving at 10.45 and were closing. I pointed out the time on the website and was told rather rudely they were closing anyway. Really dissatisfied

Looking for a good place for drinks after a day of wandering. Found it. Excellent, friendly staff. Top selection of drinks at half the price of places that are a hundred yards away. Had a great night there.

Went there after a musical to have some food and drinks. Great music, good selection of craft beers and amazing food, the mac and cheese blew me away, sorry not pictures as I was starving.

Myself and a large group of people visited this venue for my 40th last year and had a big problem with getting our food, which was not a great start to the weekend. Since then, I have been in a conversation with Lee the manager and was asked if I would fancy returning at a later date, for a better experience of eating at The Phoenix: Yesterday was that visit. My immediate family and I came for lunch and one of the managers Lydia looked after our food and drinks orders: She was super nice, bubbly and very efficient. We received our drinks straight away and our food turned up in good time: It was very tasty and a good amount. Lee made a point of coming to talk to me in person, which I really appreciated and apologising for the situation last November (as well has telling me about some changes that have happened since then). He was really nice and said that our tab had been sorted, so we didn't have anything to pay. It was so lovely, as we had not expected such a kind gesture for the whole of our group and something you rarely see, even when good restaurants have provided a bad service. I have been coming to The Phoenix on and off for years and this experience has renewed my faith in the venue. I don't know what magic Lee has instilled on the venue since my birthday, but we will definitely be back (everyone sends another Thank You to you and Lydia) and we look forward to our next visit. P.S Sorry no photos, we enjoyed the trip so much, we forgot to take pics of the food.

We visited on Saturday to watch the rugby. Such a good atmosphere and the two members of staff Lee who i think it is the manager and the lovely American girl who never stopped smiling were fantastic considering how busy the place was. Love the chicken wings and loved the vibe around the pub. We don’t normally come to the area and normally stay in Camden but next time we do we will be back, thanks Phoenix

Great evening - staff at the bar were friendly and helpful to help get my group seated. Food was great. Club downstairs was brilliant too - everyone from security guard, bar staff, DJ were great. All my friends commented on what a great night they'd had. Even more impressed with Lee the GM when he found and returned my purse the next day!! Thank you to all at The Phoenix for a great night. x

Really nice and set away from the madness of Oxford Circus, food menu really good and a bit different from what I was expecting. All Gravy Burger was unreal.

Took my daughter there for Sunday roast as she’s been in kings for 2 weeks with her baby , the staff were lovely , waited 40 minutes , food was disgusting , waste of £40 , when told staff all they said was oh sorry

Last Friday, we arrived at The Phoenix for a table booking for 14 people, to start off my 40th birthday celebrations. When we got there the place was quite packed. We waited awhile to get someone's attention and were in the end told to head to the back of the pub. Some people were sitting at our tables, but they quickly moved and a staff member came and wiped down the tables. We didn't have enough chairs though, so I had to try and acquire these from other tables across the next hour. The tables had no numbers, so after one of our friends went up to order food, they said "We just have to point at our tables and they will make sure the food comes to us". Weird but ok. Not just to help the pub, but also because my group were arriving in drips and drabs, we staggered ordering our food. Shortly after my friend had ordered my food, a server came over and I got given my sweet potato fries, but no burger, even though other burgers came to the table at the same time. I thought it would be over shortly. It wasn't, I waited ages for it. I this had just been me, I would have though, these things happen. But several of my friends waited AGES for food (one, waited over an hour and then found out her food had been given to the wrong table). Multiple times there was hot food just sitting on the hot plates, with either staff standing round it looking confused or staff noticing items, looking at them and then walking away: I've haven't seen so much madness in a pub in ages! I have no idea what was going on. Several of my friends went up to staff at the hot plates to pretty much say "That's my food, can I have it!". I have had drinks many times in this pub over the years and also chose it, as we were all going to Age Against the Machine Club after downstairs. It was so embarrassing to say that I knew and liked this pub and then for the service to be so shambolic. There were no apologies at any point, no offer of taking money off our orders or anything: Absolute disgusting! The food when it actually got to people, was good, but that really doesn't make up for the fact that some of the people who ordered just after we got there, only ate just before we went downstairs (2hrs 30mins after we arrived). I hope you can do something with the service, as the food is good, but this kind of experience puts me off coming back for food. With people being more careful with their money at the moment, I want to spend my money somewhere where you are treated well and we did not have that experience. It was also a rubbish way to properly start my 40th birthday weekend.... luckily my friends, family, the club night and everything else made up for this.

Service in this place was fantastic. Even though they were so busy, the manager seemed happy to make me a very specific cocktail I wanted. I pointed out that my wife was jealous (she can’t drink because she’s pregnant) and he refused to let me pay for her soft drink because he said I wa being mean … lovely guy it was much appreciated.

Loved the vibe in this place as a solo traveller the team made me feel welcome and chatted to me while I waited for my food. The padrón peppers were lovely as were the crispy mushrooms x

Visiting London for a shopping trip and discovered this place by accident. I really fancied a Bloody Mary and was blown away by the care and attention that the bartender put into making it and the presentation was so pretty x x Lovely service
