The Quayside in Cheshire West and Chester

Showed up for a quiet drink one night and have to say what incredible staff they have. The guy on that night was called liam and he was so welcoming and helpful with his knowledge of drinks . I wish more places had staff like this . I will be back 100% 5 star quayside

I was only here late on weekend. Really liked the vibes! If I was around in the morning, I'd be heading here for breakfast.

The weird colour of lighting made the batter on the fish look like human skin. Trouble is it tasted like it too. Inedible.

Mixed grill: 4oz gammon turned out to be bacon, 4oz beef was thinner than a piece of tissue paper, had more flavour in my right boot than in the 4oz (more like 4grams) of chicken. Came here because whetherspoons was full, a handful of tables had people seated and its no wonder why!

A real favourite of ours for a tasty brunch when doing our weekly shop. Love their sausages in both breakfast and bangers ‘n mash lunch. Helpful, friendly staff and good service.

Both had a breakfast which came with unlimited coffee. Very good quality food and well cooked. The 'Mega Breakfast ' was just that. Very nice indeed. The staff, Gavin and Martin were both very pleasant and helpful.

loved quayside before i went out last night and the bar lady was so so rude i asked for a drink and she told me to say please next time even tho i did say please and thank you she was so rude when she put the drink down she slammed it and the drink went on my hand she was so rude never had a problem before last night

First time I've had chance to do this... turned up at random a week or so ago now as i had parked My lorry overnight nearby having ran out of driving hours. I was made to feel very welcome. The bar maid Shell was so nice to me. She was lovely. A real character. She instsantly made me feel a real part of the place going out of her way to accomodate me. She Introduced me to some of the pool team who were in practice that night and I joined in a friendly pool tournament and was made to feel welcome by a great group of lads. I really enjoyed what would otherwise have been another lonely night on the road. 10/10 for the banter from everyone there. Thank you Shell. Your a star. See u next time.

Great experience for lunch today. Food was great and very reasonably priced. We were served by Chelle who was very friendly and when I asked about the town even drew me a map of how to get around.

Service was a little slow but the food was great. So it was worth the wait. Served by Chelle. Really lovely and helpful.

A terrible experience with thug doormen making up excuses to throw people out. Don't go here in evening. Absolutely violent psychotic doormen. A disgrace to the town.

Wetherspoons serve better food at half the price. Would never go back even if it was free of charge. Toilets are cleaned once a year I guess. Their phone has been cut off as well, probably that many complaints.

Horrific. Pina colada festival or not, the woman in the pink shirt behind the bar was a disgrace. She looked at many customers saying ‘I’ve f’ing had enough i’m not serving you’ then walked off and then some woman in black hot pants and blue boots said in a very rough accent ‘don’t diss my staff’ when no one had done anything. So unprofessional it ruined a nice day / night out. Don’t work in a bar if you don’t want to work a weekend The place is rough as s***, don’t bother unless you want to be sworn at

If you love stepping on broken glass, this is the place to be. Not new to the place, but it was my partner's first time visiting. Everything went as normal as can be for Quayside, but during our visit my partner cut their foot on large, rogue pieces of broken glass scattered on the dim-lit floor, between the bar and the beer garden, that pierced her footwear. I went to the bar asking for first aid, managing to get the attention of the bar staff. As soon as they turned their back, they went right back to serving drinks. A further few minutes of trying to get their attention, strangers started trying to comfort my partner who was in tears. Even our friends tried to get the bar staff to help, but to no avail. Rather than waiting for the sun to rise, we sought first aid elsewhere. No doubt they weren't even concerned about cleaning the blood off the floor for the rest of the night. It won't be a surprise to anyone, Quayside is not the crème of Northwich, and running a bar/pub is painful enough in this town. However, when you care that little about your customers, you'd have them walk on broken glass, you've lost every ounce of respect from me. It won't be long before this batch of staff run the place into the dirt again, and maybe it's the best, for a coke-den.

The Liverpudlian lady manager stole cigarettes of the table when people were sitting there. When confronted she kicked off and started calling us 'bitches' and homophobic language such as 'tranny'. She then tried to hit us after telling her they was not her cigarettes, then got the door staff to remove us for absolutely no reason. Think this lady needs some sort of help, not the way to run a pub. Disgusting.

Visited for food last week and had a lovely meal. I had the hunters chicken, my partner chose a burger. Both were amazing and arrived to our table cooked to perfection. The chef, Ben came out to speak with us at our request and he and the waitress, Shell, were both very accommodating. Shell really entertained us when talking to us and the service we received was brilliant. We couldn’t have asked for more. We shall defiantly be back.

I went out on a night out on friday with a few friends to a catch up. The service I received was outstanding, the bouncers were lovely, and the staff were very friendly. The member of staff who i think was in charge, was called Shell. When i went to the bar I was welcomed with a smile and a nice chat and she complimented my outfit which really made my day and she made all of our group feel really good about ourselves. We all had a top night out, the dj played such good music and I am definitely coming back with all my friends again soon. Thank you Shell! and Thank you The Quayside.

Visited last night to try the only cask beer on offer, Tatton Blond. Normally a very good local brew.. but not here. Informed the lady behind the bar that the beer was past it’s best, with a viniger after taste. I was told there was nothing wrong with it and people had been drinking it all day, sorry. The sorry wasn’t an apology, just a take it or leave it. So we did. (Leave it) and won’t be returning. So, not just bad beer.. appalling customer service.

Trying to watch boxing and got some melt on karaoke.Rude staff seems to have an ego problem.

We went for Valentine's day meal, from a fantastic menu. We went for a 2-course meal but it ended up being more of a 4 course with all the appetizers and complimentary dessert. It was fantastic! My fillet steak was cooked to absolute perfection! All the food was so fresh and tasty, you could tell a lot of effort had been put into the food. I wish I got a picture of the steak but I had to jump right in it was so amazing! The chocolate-dipped strawberries honestly changed my life and the desserts were so moist and just beautiful!

Went for lunch mid week with a few friends this week and the barman was so passive aggressive about us ordering food and about when it'll be ready, I think they need 2 bar staff on at lunch to help that guy stop being so passive aggressive to the customers coming in and paying for food and drinks

Very disappointed was going in with my friend and got asked for ID as it should be, the large bouncer asked my friend some questions: name, where he lives and date of birth which fair enough but then asked to see his phone for no reason (whilst this is happening a load of guys are just walking in and talking about them not getting asked for all that) and just because my friend questioned him about wanting to see his phone he got rude and told us to go home! Just unnecessary and we usually go there every weekend for drinks and now we’re never stepping foot in there again! Absolutely disgusting do not recommend going out in Northwich!! This is a very large bouncer btw all the other ones just ask for what they need and are absolutely respectful to everyone until they cross the line! Rated it with 1 ⚪️ because there’s no option for less than that!

Went for the soul afternoon very friendly and efficient staff, great music and beer.maybe advertise it a bit more as lots of people I have told about it didn't know it's on once a month.

The guinness here is beyong disgusting - vile doesn't even project the severity of my distaste. It is easily the worst guinness in Northwich. Me and my friend had to throw up in the toilet (2 pints in) after experiencing it.

Would give zero stars if I could, no hot drinks coz the machine doesn't work and no cakes! Waited over 45mins for food no wedges, ribs or wings.. other people asked for a refund aswell and said they won't be coming back either. Won't be coming back again anytime soon!

Toilets dirty. Food an hour late even a customer stormed off because hers was late. Food terrible and not worth the money.

I would have loved to give it a better review but when I visited the place seemed dead. I ordered Caesar salad with chicken and it never arrived and this was after chasing it up before I gave up after 30 minutes. I like to support local but it really should do better. On the plus side, coffee was good.

Love this place nice breakfast 🍳 , clean and good portions of food

Broken locks on toilet doors that never get repaired and worst of all no proper disabled lock on the disabled toilet just a hook and eye on the inside. No other way of gaining access if someone had collapsed inside. All this vandalism must go on in the evenings so definitely a place to miss as it must be a very unruly place.

Only had a coffee and hot chocolate... The toilets leave a lot to be desired. The disabled one, NO LOCK!! It's next to the pool table and outside smoking area.... Not good at all. Anyone can walk in, and it's not particularly clean.... I think it's used by anyone and everyone, coz the main toilets are upstairs

Cracking nite on the karaoke 2nite!

Arrived and ordered food was told it would be no more than 20 minutes wait 30 minutes later still hadn't arrived when asked where it was we were told it was being done we had to go to the football at barnton so asked to take away another 10 minutes wait. Fish was Small chips not that nice under cooked. Only giving 1 star as there is no option for 0 stars. Definitely stay away.

I was spoked to like dirt when a bouncer GAVE my coats to the wrong person! 150 quids worth of jackets given away by staff and I WAS apparently in the wrong for blinking as they were taken way from my seat! Absolutely fuming!

My fiancé and I went for a meal for his birthday and In Conversation I wished him happy birthday. We had finished our meals and we just about to leave when the manage said wait there a minute please and the chef came out with a piece of cake with a candle how lovely.Thank you to everyone who made my fiancé day special.

THE most distgusting food ever served. Dried chips, pastry on steak pie soggy on the bottom and dried rock hard on the top. Yellowy over cooked broccoli. Gravy congealed in the pie. We will never be eating here erav again.

This has to be the worst food I have ever been served. It looked like it had been made first thing in the morning and kept under a heat lamp all day.We hat to wait 30 minutes for the food to arrive and when it did it was terrible.The pie upper crust was so hard the knife would not go through it. The chips were hard on the outside and the vegetables looked as if they had been in water all morning. We should have refused the food and demanded our money back. I did a review a couple of years age and standards haven't improved. I will not ever be going there again and I would advise others to give it wide berth. Not sure how this rates a 5 star as the tables were dirty and sticky.

Popped in for a breakfast, quick service and the breakfast came out fairly quick also. Best breakfast I’ve had in a while. Happy my mate recommended it to me. Definitely worth the try

It was a great night out quite friendly too

I arrived just after 1300hrs on a Saturday, and stood by the "Wait here" sign for some time before I was noticed, and called forward to the bar. My drink order was taken, and I was told I could sit anywhere, and the menu was on each table. I selected Ham, egg and chips as my main course, and ice cream + chocolate sponge as my dessert.The ham was extremely thickly cut, which is not my choice, and the chips were served with the potato skin on them, again not my choice. The menu gave no hint that these types of food would be served. The dessert was delicious. The venue was almost empty; perhaps it is a place that is much busier in the evening. The staff members that I spoke to were very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely awful! We have been here many times in the past but this was our first time since Covid! It was 7 30pm on a Saturday night, the place was empty apart from a small group and an elderly couple I ordered a Guinness for myself and a dark fruits for my wife, on sitting down in a corner by a window my wife pulled a face and said the smell was unpleasant, it smelt damp but had a strong tobacco smell at the same time, I made a joke that the staff had probably smoked to disguise the damp smell! On the first sip of my Guinness I was almost sick! It tasted of washing up liquid! I took another sip just to make sure I wasn't imagining the taste! I have in 30 years never taken a drink back to the bar to complain but this would of poisoned me! On handing the Guinness back to the barman a lady who i believe was in charge took it off him and had a smell, she said she didn't drink Guinness so wasn't sure what she was smelling?! The barman said they had complaints about it from the night before but they had changed the barrell! The barman went on to say he drank Guinness so he would taste it, he almost threw up on the spot and said it was disgusting! I was then offered an alternative drink. Just when we thought things couldn't get any worse my wife went to the toilet and came back horrified that none of the ladies toilets had a lock on the door! We left our drinks and went elsewhere and will not set foot in this establishment again! Shame as it was a nice pub once

Great addition to Northwich, Some top shops have moved in e.g., Sports Direct, H&M, The Coffee House and even we have a new cinema ( Odeon )

Decent enough pub, located at the top of town. Has a good selection of beers, wines and spirits and serves standard pub grub.

Really nice staff. Decent menu. Not too expensive at all. Can't argue with that.

Very relaxed and friendly staff

Unclean and unsafe. Poor standards of compliance and people not following the rules but place doesn't seem bothered. Cheap food, drink and other things available and in some cases free including Corona. Next review will probably be of the facilities on the former council depot down the road as will have to visit there next.

Absolutely love the service here. The young lady that served me was absolutely amazing, didn't get her name but she has blue hair. Very friendly and felt very relaxed. Definitely will be going back x

Was in early today with my kids,absolutely disgusting food,staff were rude and running round like idiots because they let to many people in,not covid safe at all,reported to the local council and police.

I visit the quayside weekly and have always found the food to be excellent and the service to be very friendly. Always a welcoming smile and a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend it to anyone, especially the breakfasts! :)

Visit quayside very regular, what a great place and great food. Even with all the caous going in atm they go above and beyond to make sure your well catered for. The owners and staff r great. Defo be going back soon 👌👌

Despite all the previous comments I have read....we always find the service impeccable and can not fault The Quayside for upholding Covid measures!! Always attentive and friendly and the food is absolutely delicious! Many thanks go to Dixie, Ingrid and all the team for doing such a FANTASTIC job!!! I am a regular visitor to the Quayside and have always found the staff extremely polite and well mannered.The food is excellent and the prices are very very reasonable indeed. I'd certainly recommend anyone to visit this restaurant bar. In my opinion, certainly the best eating place in town

Called in for breakfast on Thursday with my mate. Had 2 breakfasts - one large and one small. Both came with unlimited drinks (tea or coffee). Superb food and excellent prices. Best value in Northwich - you will not be disappointed!

Went for breakfast with friends this morning sat outside to adhere to the guidelines, all the relevant requirements are in place . Sanitiser , spaced out tables and staff wearing masks Our order was taken and delivered very quickly and the food was delicious 😋 especially the sausages.

That really tall barman, Morgan, was extremely kind and helpful with the speed of recieving a pint, music was too loud though, ended up with tinnitus.

Came to quayside with my partner and son for a breakfast. Not a thing to complain about. The sausages where the best I have had you can tell fresh produce is used. All covid safety measures in place and staff all friendly. Will deffontatly be back.

I am absolute infuriated to be writing this review. I never ever write reviews but I am livid. Not only is the doorman shocking at customer service, the manager is the most sexist person I have ever met. I tried to explain something, no need to go into what it is, however he Turned away with no acknowledgement of what I had to say. But when my male friend had something to say he was all ears and even responded. I am absolutely disgusted, this needs sorting and needs sorting ASAP. I am furious, especially in this day and age. Disgusting. Do NOT recommend one bit. STAY AWAY!

Great friendly staff and one of the best bacon butties I've ever had

Visited for lunch today, ordered 4 meals; 2 were cold and had clearly been left on the side for a while, the 3rd, a burger was raw in the middle and blood poured out when my husband but into it. The 4th meal was just about edible.The only bit of PPE was sanitiser when you walked in. Staff were not wearing any PPE and I never saw any tables being sanitised. The staff were too busy talking, well shouting, to one another and just really didn't seem to give a damn about the service, food or taking precautions to do with coronavirus. Just as well I wasn't from the Council as raw food plus lack of safety measures wouldnt have ended up so well for them. Do not waste your money by going here, you'd be better off at McDs and saving yourself £35!

Went yesterday and had the steak pie and chips. Proper homemade food, generous portions and the pie filled to the brim with a beautifully tender meat. Staff are so pleasant. Had a nice chat with the young man who loves Northern Soul! The place is spotless with great safety measures in place and spacious enough to feel comfortable. The prices are similar to Wethers but the food, service and decor a million times better. Will definitely be returning.

Food is fabulous, proper homemade - and you can tell. Prices are incredibly reasonable and lovely, friendly staff. Spacious, tasteful surroundings and great covid safety measures in place. Highly recommend. Thanks for the best steak pie we've tasted!
