Absolutely disgraceful actually cannot believe it got cod and chips twice chips where nice and in the past was decent gone down completely but there literally was zero fish just batter I pretty much paid £19 pound for some chips crazy clown world we live in now the fact you have the audacity to give me just batter with zero fish WTF scam

Despite the popularity of this place with Queuing outside my wife and I found this not such a great experience food wise. The chips looked as if we had purchased ealier made ones and had no crispiness to them at all with the fish very greasy. We actually received two small pieces of fish rather than the large cod on offer which was odd. We have had much worse but this did not cut it for us.

Good customer service and great fish and chips, good quantity, good fish and good overall quality at a reasonable cost.

My daughter had a 1/2 chicken and chips plus my granddaughter had nuggets and chips my wife had small fish and chips and i had a large fish and chips. Got worried right at the start when the chicken was taken out of the freezer and placed in the microwave. Had to wait a while but had expected it as was the same the year before when we stayed here. When we arrived home and sorted out meals my granddaughter only had 5 nuggets instead of 6 as advertised. The chicken was so dry you had to have a drink to be able to swallow it and my portion of chips which was a large portion was no bigger than my wife's portion.

Really nice food but alas long queues which I guess is going to happen if you're good. We had a regular piece of fish each and a portion of chips between us which was more than enough, also the good old chippie curry sauce to add a bit more flavour, very nice 🙂

Took our fish and chips to eat on the sea front - very tasty chips but fish just average. Very busy and a fair wait to get our order, but at least it meant it was fresh. Would use again as these were by far the best chips we had during our stay.

Giving up with this place after the last two visits have been terrible. Smaller than ever portions and prices going up more and more. Sausage and chips barely enough to feed a small child for £4.60! Ridiculous. I'm a local so have always supported this place and feel very short changed when still hungry afterwards!

Gluten free provided for which was worth the wait.

Fish was mushy which I believe was frozen before cooking not fresh.also chips fatty.. One customer lost here. Never again 24.00 in the bin.. A seaside chippy and not fresh for top money should be shut down.

I wish I could rate the food, but having arrived well before closing. I was gob smacked to find four headless chickens on the verge of a meltdown. It was ten minutes later that a customer asked me if I was next. I said I was waiting to be acknowledged. Only to be told that they had stopped taking orders. Fifteen minutes wasted and left without speaking a word to a member of staff. Good job they didn't because a few choice words were on the tip of my tongue.

You’d think if you pre-order at 5.15 for 6pm collection you wouldn’t then have to wait 28 minutes for your food to be ready. The owner was incredibly rude when I was simply trying to ascertain what the delay was. Seems it takes and hour and 15 minutes to cook a simple sausage. The food was very average.

We visited this chip shop the last time we came to Norfolk and so we promised ourselves that we would return on our first night. Drove from our little cottage to the village, parked car up and got our dinner in the village chippy. We order a cod and chips and a haddock and chips - as always it is cooked to order so I agree with the review that says it is common sense you will have to wait - and it is most definitively worth waiting for! I would rather wait for a cooked to order fish and chips any day of the week rather than having fish which has been under the heater for quite some time. As I entered the shop the staff were very friendly and chatty and the first conversation was the female behind the counter asking me how I do my hair because she loved it so much. Time waiting for my order flew by as we were all chatting in the shop. We ended our evening with a walk across the beach. We would highly recommend this chip shop, if your in the area and fancy some chippy tea this is the place to go!

Good chips, but discovered on a second visit that they were cooked in beef dripping. As a vegetarian we won't be going back unless this were to change.

This was my favourite chippy now my worst, my cod wasn't fresh and tasty the batty was soggy couldn't eat it, the chips weren't great either. Very disappointing

Been in for fish and chips absolutely delicious and first time trying the BBQ chicken which was absolutely scrumptious , service first class really friendly staff who went above and beyond we will be back ty so much guys

Fish dry over cooked way below the standard expected and didn't seem that fresh batter thick could well have been a fry up not there normal standard.

As a regular customer, I was very disappointed today. Checked they were open it said close at 2pm. I arrived at 1.26pm only to be told he had just taken last orders. I was not happy

Staying at Mundesley Holiday Village, we ordered Haddock and Chips by phone and collected 15 minutes later. Excellent quality food, very generous portions and extremely good value for money. Superb Customer Service. Highly recommended.

Freshly cooked, huge portion! We were staying down the road at Trimmingham, as it was a Monday out of season many places appear to be closed. This little place cooked the food fresh to order so a little wait. My large cod and chips was really two pieces! Lovely fish, crispy batter. Chips soft and delicious just how I like them. Worth noting they do cook in beef dripping, so no good for vegetarians or vegan.

Always a great service in here which can't be matched. Mike and the crew are fantastic and the quality of the food is unmatched!! Cooked in beef dripping and a great menu to choose from. Mundesley is always my top choice for a beach destination and The Village Chippy is always my top choice for food as well.

It was ok but the batter was a bit dry, hard and crisp for our liking. The customer service was excellent and it was very good value for money, I think we just caught it at the end of the day when the oil was a bit hot. We will try again though.

We were really hungry so ignored the 3.9 rating. So glad we did! We thought these fish and chips were some of the best we have had! Generous portion, super crispy batter, delicious chips, mushy peas and curry sauce (not smooth but we are not fussy). It was a sunny Saturday night so we understood the wait time. Happy we supported this local family business after a swim in the sea. Remember the British seaside would not be the same without them ♡

We go back again and again. For a small venue it offers good quality food, chips always hot, fish nicely cooked in crispy batter and tender good size burgers which are provided by the local butcher. Commonsense will tell you that because it’s popular you may have to queue and because it’s only little you may have to wait outside. Definitely worth it, staff always friendly and very efficient.

We visited for Friday night fish and chips on a recommendation. Stood outside in the dark and the drizzle for over half an hour. Portions were small and it was the most disappointing gluten free fish and chips I've ever eaten. I ended up binning the batter. My (non gf) friends said it was the worst meal of the holiday, I'd cooked the other nights but wasn't even flattered by this backhanded compliment.

Friendly busy little place. Only about 6 parking places outside. Take away supplied in boxes. The fish batter was not what we are used too. Enough chips nearly left some but against my grain. Yes I would definitely return on next holiday visit

A very popular chip shop. Had quite a long wait. Lovely fish (although the batter was a bit heavy).

These were delicious! Great chips, batter was so crispy and fresh not at all soggy. Portion size was perfect. The cod special was such a deal. Yjr size of the cod was perfect, just enough. Curry sauce was delicious. I highly recommend it. Open on a Sunday (couldn't find many others locally) they also take cash or card.

Had to queue up outside in extreme heat with no shade. The food was okay, shame everthing was cooked in beef dripping (which it mentions on the window) which made everything taste weird

Our family take away meal this evening was utterly utterly terrible. One star is one too many - if I could give them minus stars I would. £48 wasted! The entire meal for a family of 8 was shocking. I actually cannot believe they would serve this up to paying customers. The thin hard piece of cod was tiny (about the size of a five pound note) - brown and chewy - and separate from the batter - of which there was lots, although equally inedible. The fat they cook in is obviously VERY old. The overpowering taste is as disgusting as the fact that everything is dripping in it. The chicken was equally rank - tasteless and oddly chewy. Same with the burger and sausages. Even our Labrador turned his nose up at it, and that’s saying something. A very disappointing experience. Stay clear of this place… a complete and utter waste of money.

On holiday in Mundesley used this chippy a couple of times. Food was very good, friendly service and clean. The cod special at £5.70, best fish and chips I've had in a long time, is an absolute bargain for a quick lunch. Highly recommended

Probably the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. White greasy, soggy chips, and fish that was coated thick in heavy greasy batter. Big portions and high on calories were the only redeeming features. If that’s what you’re after then good value for money!

Fish and chips cooked in the traditional way in beef fat, the reason why all good fish and chip shops still do this is because you can't beat it!! If you don't like it fair enough, go and.get.some inferior ones from elsewhere. This is the best fish and chip shop in the area for both food and service and my whole extended family will not go anywhere else. Thank you to all the staff for keeping fish and chips traditional, well cooked and for the service with a smile.

Great chips,fried in beef dripping, as all seaside chips should be! Fish was OK. Would have liked the option to add my own salt & vinegar, as a quick shake isn't enough for me, but overall nice enough.

Popped down to get a family take away. Waited quite a while which is fine (nice sunny day) but chips were quite cold and the £5 veggie burger was a limp patty with no alas, bun or relish! Not great!

Superb gluten free fish and chips (which are available every day !!!). Really big portions as well. Highly recommended !!!! (Large = two fish ! Who knew ?!)

Visited this local chip shop only a short drive from our holiday accommodation. The staff were really friendly, service was very quick and the portions were very large and really tasty!!! Highly recommend this chip shop if you looking for a quick, good value bite to eat 👍👍

We travelled 30 miles to visit friends in a village close to Mundesley. We arranged to collect fish and chips and take to their house. We decided to have the ‘half fish’ meal which, as the name suggests, is a half-portion of fish with chips....

Whilst working for the ambulance service, myself and my crew mate went into this chip shop during our 30 min break and the owner of the shop was very kind, they opened early and gave us a veryy!! Generous discount which was so kind and generous. Thank you, your kindness was very appreciated 💚

We had the fish and chip special, half a portion of fish, chips and peas or curry. Great value for money and very freshly cooked. We sat on a picnic bench, overlooking the sea, in the sunshine. Very friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

Delicious. Ordered X2 large cod and chips, portions were large and beautifully cooked. Chips cooked in beef dripping were very tasty. All cooked to order, nothing sitting in the cabinets keeping warm. This chippy came highly recommended, I can see why. Excellent value for money, friendly staff and worth waiting for our suppers to be cooked. If you haven't been already, go out of your way and pay them a visit, you won't be disappointed.
