Came here for an evening meal with our two children one who has coeliac they couldn't accommodate her more. The food was all good and tasty would recommend for a visit especially if looking for gluten free food.

A very warm and friendly welcome greeted me as soon as I arrived at this place. I highly recommend it to others as it truly exceeded my expectations. They even graciously upgraded my room to a more luxurious and spacious one. The accommodation, cleanliness, service, and flexibility with food ordering were all excellent. It's definitely a place worth visiting, and I am confident that others will have a great experience too. ROSE ORGaNICS LTD

Seen trip advisor recommended so gave it a try. Visit was a Friday night which had entertainment. The guitarist was amusing and played brilliant blues. The music did not spoil the meal. The menu was basic, but don't let that deter you. The home cooked curry was lovely with large chicken pieces. The steak pie was brilliant - chunky steak and rich gravy with fresh veg. Wish I'd had mash instead of chips. Thoroughly enjoyed the pastry too. Staff lovely. Well worth the drive - definitely recommend.

We went for the Burn’s night pies and wow is all we can say. The pastry so light I had The haggis pie and my husband had the venison pie. The lightest pastry encased pies packed full were simply delicious served with a choice of gravy, sauce and the veg perfect. My only comment would be to have the fire in the dining area lit for that real cosy pub feeling.

We have now stayed here on two occasions and are very impressed with the accommodation and the welcoming staff. Our room was quite large but it stayed warm despite the time of year. Everything was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order and was very tasty. We ate twice at the hotel during our four night stay and were impressed with the quality of the food. There were few people in the pub when we were eating which took away some of the atmosphere that there might have been but there was a roaring fire to keep us company. Our only complaint was the cost of a glass of wine: that did not compare favourably with other pubs and restaurants that we visited in the locality.

Booked the Wheatsheaf for Sunday Lunch to give it a try as we'd never been before. Atmosphere was typically "pub" which was nice. We ordered Traditional Sunday Lunches - one Beef & one Lamb. The Beef was good but the Lamb was well overcooked. The worst part was the roast potatoes and the poor selection of vegetables - cabbage and carrots. I don't know when they had been cooked but the potatoes and carrots were dried out and had a skin, typical of being sitting under a hot lamp. For £21 and £19 for a main course, I would have expected something better.

We really like the food here, we travel up to Norfolk every few months and since first finding this gem of a place, we come back quite frequently. The food here is constantly good & service is also great. Fully covid secure but my one complaint (only now that it’s winter) as it’s a one way system you have to walk along the road to get back into the car park. In the summer this was not an issue but it’s very dark so some lighting would be benificial or some better signs on how to get back to the car park, if there’s an alternative route.

After reading the positive reviews on TA, we contacted the Wheatsheaf to book to stay there. We emailed and spoke with Linda, the owner who was most helpful and arranged our 2 nights stay most efficiently. We stayed in the Crimson room situated on first floor with a side window view overlooking the front of the pub and partial garden. The room is spacious with just the right amount of furniture. There is a kettle and a tray of tea, coffee and hot chocolate refreshment and complimentary cookies!.The room and bathroom are kept clean. Due to Covid19, there is no room service, however, they replenish the toiletries and refreshment tray. We dined in at the pub restaurant on our first night, and we were looked after by the 2 staff very well. So glad there was curry on the special board that evening as we chose chicken madras which came out of the kitchen piping hot and spicy served with rice and mango chutney - delicious. We also had the antipasti platter which was amazing, so much choice of cured meat, cheese and chutneys. After the two main courses, we were stuffed, and could not manage any dessert. We did have a double JD and a liqueur coffee. Breakfast is served between 08.30 a.m. and 09.30 a.m. and Linda keeps everyone happy and well fed. She came round with a trolley with a selection of cereals, yoghurts and juices and cooked breakfast is ordered off the menu. Tea, coffee, toasts and jams are provided too. We both had the full English breakfast during our stay and they were plentiful and yummy. Something to look forward in the mornings! All in all, we have enjoyed our staff at the Wheatsheaf and Linda and her team ensured that every guest is well taken good care of and the service is excellent. We could not have stayed in a better place during our visit to North Norfolk and the Wheatsheaf is ideally located in a charming village, within easy travelling distances to Sheringham, Cromer and Blakeney. We highly recommend the Wheatsheaf for a stay over, food and drinks, all in one place. The Wise-Ones24th October 2020

Entrance and seating arrangements excellent. Staff welcoming and operating safely, including wearing masks.Although a short menu due to Covid restrictions it was well thought out and included various meals so that everybody could find something to like, unlike some of the other restaurants in the area which had a shortened but pretentious menu, seemingly copying each other with the same boring choices. Visited The Wheatsheaf for the first time, to celebrate a dear friend’s birthday this evening. The menu was basic but adequate. The setting was perfectly acceptable and the place was busy. Our waitress was polite.Reece the barman is very accommodating - and makes the best espresso martini for miles around!

Average country pub. Got the feeling it was a family run pub with the family mainly sat in front of the bar. Visited once for food (which was average) and took nearly an hour to arrive (it was during eat out to help out) but there was so much opportunity for some sort of interaction during the two visits. I’m not sure if we what have experienced over the past couple of weeks means it’s close to the coast means no need for customer service.

It was our first visit to the pub as we were on holiday nearby. The service was very attentive and we felt safe with all of the precautions they had in place. The food arrived quickly and we were delighted with our choices! I had the chicken burger and lemon tart, the taste and quality was fantastic! Was the best meal out we’ve had in a long time! The children’s menu had a good selection and portion sizes were generous! Would highly recommend, just wish this was our local!

Booked a table for an early dinner one Tuesday. Arrived and followed the signs to wash our hands then waiting where the signs directed us to, to be seated.A waiter was nearby serving food, and the landlady (I think) was at a table in the bar adjacent. Stood waiting for a while, assuming when the waiter was finished serving he would help us.The phone rang behind the bar, and the landlady squeezed past us to answer, had a long conversation . When she got off the phone I assumed she would assist us, but she squeezed back past us and sat back down. The waiter then squeezed past us apologising for doing so, and then sat down with her at the table for a chat. We were all still standing there like lemons, including one fidgety four year old.At that point we were allowed into the bar area as the man in there previously had finished paying. We gave our names and said we’d booked and he asked us where we were sitting. We said we were waiting to be seated and he was visibly annoyed and snapped that we could sit anywhere. There was one table left inside, it was sticky. It was a bit cold to sit outside, so we left.Felt very unwanted and uncomfortable.

I brought an elderly friend for lunch and we both had an excellent meal. The food was served piping hot, was tasty and well presented. Service, too, was excellent - attentive without being over fus
