Bon Accord in Glasgow City

Simply put one of the best whisky bars in the world and a great pub to boot. The staff know their stuff, are attentive, friendly, welcoming and funny. The whisky is keenly priced and you'll find treasure everywhere behind the bar - and if you're not sure, ask the staff and they'll have great recommendations. The food is great and well priced, but I've taken one star off just in case anyone reads this and thinks they're getting some fancy fine dining stuff - you're not, you're getting proper quality pub grub. There's always a great atmosphere, any night of the week. Get along!

Soup and a main course for a tenner. Not haute cuisine, but decent wholesome food. Tried a few malts. The only problem with 600 to choose from is making the choice.

What a perfect spot to enjoy a good dram? This pub is large and even has tons of bar seating. Over 600 whiskies to pick from and prices that are incredible

Really nice pub been meaning to visit for ages.

It should open at 11 AM but it was still closed at 1PM no message or information on the door. Disappointing...

We went to try some Scotch Whiskeys and they treated us EXCELLENTLY!! They selected a few for us, explained each one and let us take photos in the bar (it was full) and we even spoke with the owner. Recommended! It was an unexpected Whiskey tour.

Fantastic pub, with imported beers including Moretti (why I don't know, maybe in Scotland it's considered very good). Very good food, haggis cooked well and very good. Lots of meat and abundant condiments in the sandwich, the only sore point are the thin fries and not the usual and delicious "thick cut fries. I will definitely be back!

Cannot fault the Bon Accord. Service, food and comfort. Would highly recommend.

7 of us had a meal and wine. Food was excellent and staff lovely. Well done to Jonathan who looked after us all, attentive with a pleasant sense of humour. Thank you. Worth a visit and handy for King's Theatre.

One of my fav pubs in Glasgow. Food is such a reasonable price and delicious, service is so friendly. The beer and whisky selection is pretty much unparalleled in Glasgow.

Had an unscheduled stopover in Glasgow due to travel issues caused by storms. Fancied heading out for a bite to eat and a drink in the evening- pub came up recommended online. The good reviews were spot on as it's a lovely pub. The place looks great and historic, inside and out. Lots of cozy spots to sit and chill, my type of place. Everything was clean and well-kept, including the toilets. Quite a few customers were there for food and the meal I had was excellent (Cajun chicken and fries) and pretty good value. Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Pub is obviously known for its large whisky selection- it's pretty impressive and I sampled a few. Amazing selection for whisky lovers. Plenty of everything else too if you're not into whisky. Can't really criticise anything. It's a lovely pub, not far from major transport hubs, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Also has football on TV. Staff are excellent, foods good and if you're into whisky, it's a dream. Recommended.

Lovely hospitable Scottish service in a cosy venue. The sweet potato and carrot soup was incredible, and I enjoyed the Haggis, neeps, and tatties. This place has the most extensive whisky selection for sale I have ever seen.

Absolutely the best bar in Glasgow, if you like proper beer, whisky and rugby. Was really busy but service was quick, and what a choice of ales.....about 10 on draft. Whiskys......more than I can count. Definitely recommended.

Visited The Bon Accord as a friend's Mum worked there in the 60's. We received a warm welcome, and sat through the back on a cosy sofa. We had some lunch which was so fresh and tasty. Looking at the photos and awards it's clear this is a great place to both work and visit. We will definitely be back when we visit Glasgow again.

Loved this place. Friendly, attentive service matched by really great pub grub. Good atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon, with couples and groups but not overly noisy. The burger is huge, with two giant onion rings on top. The fries were hot and fresh. Came with a lil pot of coleslaw and some salsa. However...if you're getting any kind of potato or dippable thing, make sure you get some or Brendan's Whiskey Sauce. Heavenly, like a thick and creamy sauce you'd find on a good steak or meatballs.. If they bottled this stuff up I'd have bought some. Speaking of, they've won tons of awards for their whiskey, which you can buy in the pub itself.

Great choice of ale and whisky.

A must for everyone visiting Glasgow. Easy to reach (close to Charing Cross Station), family business, great food variety, as for the drinks I've never seen so many in one place. If you're at a loss of what to choose, just ask any of the guys or girls at the bar, they're super competent and so happy to helpp you out. I'd be in there every day for a pint and some drams if I lived in Glasgow.

I used the Bon Accord as my local when I lived locally 30 odd years ago. I loved it. The real ale was the big attraction for me and you always felt welcome. I moved to the east end and for some reason thought that the pub had closed! imagine my delight to find you are still open. The Bon Accord fed and watered me for 15 years. Thankyou.

Solid tasty plate of mince and tattles followed by a rich mint chocolate cheesecake washed down by 2 pints of real ale from titanic. Value for money is great.

Eigentlich nur kurz aufgrund des Regens was gesucht. Ambiente war top und Personal freundlich. Nur das Burger pattie war Tod gebraten.

Our hotel recommended the restaurant and we were very happy. We all enjoyed our meals. I recommend the "steak pie", it was a bit different as it wasn't cooked inside a pastry but I think I preferred it this way. Very tasty. Beers were good and tons of Whisky to choose from. It was busy and bustling and have a good vibe. We were lucky enough to have a table but people were waiting for it when we were done. I recommend the restaurant and will be back.

Undoubtedly one of Glasgow's finest pubs boasting the largest selection of whiskies and real ales. Has won multiple awards over many years. Tonight's deal was soup and a monster serving of Steak pie,Mash and peas for £9.99. There is an extensive menu to suit all tastes with a great grill selection.. Atmosphere is amazing. A real old school pub with a terrific ambiance ,decor and furnishings. Situated close to the Mitchell library and only minutes from No.2 bus route from St enoch at city centre.

One of the best pubs I've been in for ages. Brought my mom in here while on vacation, her first time in a pub. She loved it. Great food and beer selection, super nice staff, cozy atmosphere with very comfy armchairs and good ambiance. Incomprehensibly delicious butter chicken. 10/10 If I lived here I'd be a regular.

Cracking place we found by accident. 2 courses for just under £9 and really reasonable for a pint. Not that busy, but it was a Monday night, but the staff were friendly and welcoming. If your nearby pop in. You won't be disappointed.

Not been here for 40 years ! Was recommended for simple tasty good value food . My son lives round the corner - we were not disappointed. Very friendly service . Food was tasty and not expensive. Only criticism is its very dark , however in winter I imagine it will be cosy . Will return definitely- I hear the breakfasts are good!

Great local pub with a wide range of draft cask ales and lagers. Quality food at reasonable prices. The steak pie is delicious. There is a specials board for 2 course meal at £8.95. delicious chocolate cheesecake as well.

Pleasant place. Great whisky selection and wonderful staff. They couldn't find the whisky I had requested at first, so I chose something else, but they kept looking, found it, and presented a pour at no charge. The haggis bonbons were delicious as well.

This was a great place with great food. Prices were also convenient and well priced. Had my wife step away to make a phone call and when they brought the food out they asked if we wanted to put the plate under a warmer to keep it warm until she got back, which was super nice. Overall great experience.

Best pub I’ve been to in Scotland.

We heard that this was a brilliant place to experience good quality spirits and pints alike and it did not disappoint! We had a couple of unusual (but very tasty beers). We were looking to trial a few different Whiskys but weren't sure which options to go for as there was so much choice! The staff were partient and highly knowledgeable to help guide us to some fantastic new Whisky's to add to our growing list of favourites!

Haggis, neaps and tatties a real treat

Food was okay, staff were either run off their feet or just not attentive but either way staff were not friendly or helpful. Whisky and drinks selection was amazing so it's an okay place to go.

One of the best collections of single malts I've ever seen. This place came highly recommended and did not disappoint. A must visit in Glasgow whether you want to to get your hands on a rare/sold out single malt, or even a chilled beer! Their gin collection isn't bad either. Just wish you could hear the classic rock music videos that were playing on the TV. Overall a great place I'd love to go back to.

Typical pub with a good atmosphere and good food. We had fish n chips and a locate brew. Located by the University and the clientele are mostly college students having fun.

A must visit whenever I'm in Glasgow, I first visited in the early 1980s and it's been a favourite ever since. It's just a pity that the motorway cuts it off from Charing Cross station, but it's not too much of a walk. Great atmosphere, great beer, and a good range of different breweries. No rating for food as I've never actually eaten here.
