Himalayan Nepalese and Indian Restaurant in Belfast

I have to be honest with myself - I've never had such a sweet, jammy tikka massala in my life, I thought I was eating candy, awful, awful. I didn't feel the spices, just the sugar in there.

Very average restaurant, not sure why there are some 5 star review from previous visitors, maybe things have changed since. Service was ok but food is very average, expensive for average dishes.

The food quantity is not enough for the price, as the prof each dish is really high. Also I felt like all the curry dishes tastes like same kinda sauce. We have tried garlic chilli chicken and king prawns puri; which both was taste the same.

Pushy staff rushing to get you in and out the Tali was poor and lacking portion sizing the mix grill average and under size I guess it's all about profit get them in get them out. Won't go back

I’d rate the food as pretty average, but the prices are well above average. Then they add 10% service charge, because there was more than four of us. This took a pint of Cobra from £7.00 to £7.70.

"The worst 'Indian' food ever. They cook anything sweet and give Indian names to their dishes. Yuk! The food was so bad, it all went in the bin." Also,they put so much of red food colour.

We booked online and got a call a couple of days before our visit where Pakesh reassured us that regarding Gluten free dishes. We arrived at the restaurant and the atmosphere was amazing, we did have a short wait but when the food came it was amazing. The staff were very attentive and Pakesh was a Star, he made our night he was so funny. If you want good food , entertainment & want an excellent choice of Gluten free dishes this is the place to go.

Fabulous meal, relaxed environment, Pakesh was amazing and helpful with suggestions. The food was gorgeous, our 3 boys all sampled delightful food (as well as their usual chicken nuggets) we tried one of the hymalayan specials and it was delicious along with a biryani which was gorgeous. Went on a friend's recommendation and will definitely return when we are back to Belfast

Yummy food, nice atmosphere and calming music. First time trying the food here, greeted by friendly staff and menu has a wide range of food options. You can also choose the spice level. Definitely worth coming by if your in the Botanic area.

Amazing food! The staff are so lovely and super welcoming. The music was a little too loud for my liking but that didn't take away from anything. Staff sang happy birthday to my friend, user party poppers and brought out cake and prosecco.

This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had, ever. Food was amazing and the staff were absolutely incredible. Very attentive and friendly but not pushy at all. And the food was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend and I are traveling across Ireland and ended an extremely busy day in Belfast. We were exhausted and just wanted some comfort food (were both big Indian food fans) and ended up at Himalayan Nepalese and the restaurant made both of our nights. The prices were very reasonable for US standards but I’m unsure how they land in Northern Ireland. All of the staff are super friendly and it’s the type of dinning experience that leaves you happy you went out instead of ordering take away. Fully recommend, 10/10 stars, we will go out of our way to come back when we visit again.

One of the partners greeted me at the door with a wide-smiled ‘Namaste’ and let me choose a table. An attentive waiter took my order and a cook came to check about something I had asked about. Murals of the famous Machapuchare mountain and relaxing music took me back to happy days spent working in Nepal. The food was as delicious and as authentically Nepali as top restaurants in Kathmandu. I don’t know how they make dal bhat and momos so good outside of Nepal. I ate here both nights that I stayed in Belfast and I took some packed up momos several hundred miles home to share with my friends. They appreciated them as much as I did. Thanks for making such a wonderful Nepali dining experience outside of Nepal.

I have loved their momos. It is my regular. If you are from Delhi and someone who keeps craving the momos. This is the place to go and get your momos. Even the other items on the menu are good and should be tried. Hope you have a good experience.

First time visiting ,we took a chance and nipped in without reservation on valentines night, we were made very welcome, the manager made us feeling like we regulars ,the food was fantastic , service was fast and staff very polite, we received complimentary drinks and my wife was given a fresh red rose , we even got a hug when leaving, couldn't fault this place , definitely be back

The staff were very welcoming. We were made to feel special throughout the meal. It was my birthday and when they learned that I was given a banner, a slice of cake on a plate wishing me a happy birthday in chocolate sauce. We were lucky enough to get a table here because we went for an early dinner but you would be well advised to book as it’s an extremely popular place! And rightly so, tasty food, a great atmosphere and very nice staff.

Expensive! We have eaten in some of the worst and best restaurants in the world. While the food was good, the bill was extortionate. There were five of us incl. three children. - £15.95 for a bin veg platter for two. It had three prawns and four pieces of a sausage. The rest of the platter was chopped leaves- hardly £16 worth. - £5.00 for four poppadoms and a few tiny dips. Often these would be complimentary - even with a Take-Away. - A mysterious additional £2.00 charge on the Debit Card receipt. Though a small sum, in principle, charging for a Debit Card transaction (as this seems to be) is nothing short of 'sharp practice'. In total, £128.95 incl. four soft drinks & two small glasses of bog standard wine. We will NOT be back. Proprietor - you're very foolish. Belfast has lots of good value restaurants.

I don’t usually write reviews but I felt this was justified. For reference the order came to a total of £45, luckily enough I got £10 off on Deliveroo (which makes me feel a little bit better, but I’m still not happy about it) I ordered a take out. I ordered 2 chicken starters which I’m honest hadn’t got much flavour.. The potato dish was just peas and potato, again hadn’t got much flavour either.. It was my first time trying onion Bhaji so I don’t have much to compare them to, but they were okay although I wouldn’t order them again. The Nan was okay. I did enjoy the butter makhani chicken, it was tasty. The price that I paid for the food does not represent the quality of the food, at all. Overall, the food was mid at BEST, I am not happy with what I got for what I paid and I definitely would not return or recommend.
