Good place to eat Indian food Highly recommend it

Was always a regular customer weather that be coming to the shop or delivery. Disappointed badly £4.50 delivery charge 2.5 miles. Very last order I will be placing. Pity I really loved the Shimla.

Don’t expect Indian food as there is no Indian taste in any food. Specially curries are very bad, we have ordered curry which is spicy but it was just some pieces with sugar syrup. Nan is also very hard to eat. Worst experience ever.

It is not at all good if you are expecting Indian food. I have ordered Goan Chicken, which was showing spicy in their menu but it was just chicken with sugar syrup. Worst experience ever from an Indian restaurant.

The best Indian food I have ever had, outside of India itself. Cuisine leans to the northern India style, and is to die for. Absolutely amazing. Highly recommended the tandoori chicken wings, and the tandoori chicken main. Lamb tikka was also excellent. I'll be back for sure, any time that I'm in Belfast!

First night in Belfast. Required nutrition. Literally the first place that came up in our search for Indian food. Bring your own alcohol, a convenient store close by catered for a few beers. The food and service were both exceptional.

shimla usually does good lamb but this time it was poor, chewy and not the best. in the past it was proper chunks of lamb but this was off a skewer stuff in my lamb curry. doubt i would return and gamble my money on this place anymore - a shame(la) as it used to be our regular spot.

Gone to the pits , been eating here minimum 10 years , last 2 orders , 1 wrong , the other 1hr n 25 min wait arrived cold and soggy apparently there computer system crashed online orders , sorry to say the least and sorry to see as was always good for years but now it's not so good , 50% offered of next order doesn't cut it for me completely disappointed wether Ill go back is another thing shocking.

Waiting for the order was longer than stated 20 minutes, suggest ordering before collection. They prefer cash but as we didn't have enough, they accepted card payment. Friendly staff.

Got a lamb korma and lamb Brianne out tonight it was a very pleasant change from Chinese,tasted first class , I'm not one for spicy but the korma was absolutely beautiful and the lamb Brianne was also beautiful.

Went here with my partner for a sit in meal. We were told by the server that there was an offer on if you get a starter, main and side, the whole bill gets 25% off, so off we went and ordered a starter, main and side each, as you would! The food was decent, and we ate most of it. The issue came when we went down to pay. The bill stated £51.00 but then the discount brought the total to £37.75. Upon going down to pay, we were told by who I assume was the owner that the offer is only if paying in cash, which we were not told when ordering, and if we were, we wouldn’t have ordered the starters. Told there was a cash machine outside, we only had our phones as we use Apple Pay for everything. When I explained this, he proceeded to say that he felt sorry for me yet continued to put £51 in the machine. Just let people know the offer rather than hoodwinking someone for a tenner.

Warm welcome by the staff. This restraunt is BYO. The menu had a great choice, Food was tasty and so good highly recommended. We Enjoyed our meal, and took a great portion home as it was very generous portions.

: A Disastrous Dining Experience at "Shimla" Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5) Date of Visit: July 23, 2023 I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at "Shimla," and it was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment I stepped foot into the restaurant, the rude behavior of the staff set the tone for the evening. Upon arrival, the hostess greeted me with an attitude as if I was interrupting her personal time. She barely acknowledged my presence, mumbled something about having to wait for a table, and walked away without even taking my name or offering an estimated wait time. I stood there awkwardly, feeling like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. After what seemed like an eternity, I was finally seated at a cramped table near the kitchen. The waiter assigned to our table was equally impolite. He barely cracked a smile and seemed bothered by every question we asked about the menu. It's as if he had better things to do than attend to our needs. The worst part of the evening was, undoubtedly, the food. It's difficult to put into words just how bland and uninspired the dishes were. It felt like they put zero effort into the presentation or flavor profiles. Each dish lacked seasoning, and it seemed as though they were using subpar ingredients. When we tried to express our dissatisfaction politely, the waiter dismissed us with a condescending tone, as if we didn't know anything about food. To make matters worse, it took ages for our orders to arrive, and when they finally did, they were all served cold. It was evident that the kitchen staff didn't care about serving a quality meal or the satisfaction of their customers. I couldn't help but feel that they were deliberately sabotaging our dining experience as a form of revenge for pointing out the obvious flaws in their dishes. Despite all these issues, the management seemed equally uninterested in rectifying the situation. When I asked to speak with the manager about the poor service and food quality, I was met with a dismissive response and a complete lack of accountability. It was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority for this establishment. In conclusion, I would strongly advise anyone considering dining at "shimla* to steer clear. The rude behavior of the staff, coupled with the abysmal quality of the food, made this one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Save your money and your time and choose a restaurant that values its customers and takes pride in serving delicious food. SHIMLA is undoubtedly a place to avoid at all costs. THE MANAGER DIDNT AGREE TO US AND DEFENDED HIS ARGUMENT AND ASKED US TO PAY THE FULL AMOUNT AS WELL WE DIDNT EAT ANYTHING TO THE FULLEST. STINKY MEAT STINKY FOOD. WORST PLACE EVER

Family called unexpectedly we sent for a meal and got a banquet, simply brilliantly cooked meal now our number one Indian takeaway, do try them ,you won't be disappointed.

Shimla used to be my go to but the food has really went down hill massively! Last time I ordered the veg pakora was so burnt it was unbeatable but give it another chance and this time The onion bhaji was just full of oil and was tasteless only good thing was the chilli dip The chicken madras was okay, spicy like I asked but again just bland and the fried rice was freezing not worth the money (delivery driver was nice)

The best lamb biryani in Belfast! Succulent tender lamb with an accompanying vegetable curry sauce, we always ask for plain curry sauce but tonight got vegetable… busy Saturday and acceptable. Chicken tikka is also a cut above the rest. Moist and fresh. Proper restaurant standards at takeaway prices.! Good food comes cooked to order. Order early and you won’t be disappointed.

Extremely tasty dishes, rich in flavour with succulent meat. We were really impressed with the quality and value of this place. The warm hand towels and chocolate mints at the end made the experience even more special. We will definitely be back!

Friendly &welcoming staff. Ordered takeaway vindaloo chicken, biryani chicken and peshwari nan- all dishes were amazing. Great portions, high quality meat and very decent price. Tried many Indian restaurants in Belfast but this one is by far our favourite. I will be definitely ordering again- I could not recommend enough.

Had high expectations based on other reviews but the end product didn't really hit the mark. The service was great, friendly staff. However the food was takeout quality at best with restaurant prices. The portions of rice were far too small (one small bowl for £3.50), and something was off about the peshwari naan. As a takeout the food is probably fine, but for the extra you pay for dining in, it's a miss.

The service was horrible. The manager is very arrogant. Even after mentioning them that we were there just for starters, they brought in Papadoms with sauces. In the end, they charged £6 extra for the Papadoms. When suggested that they should mention to the customer before hand that they would charge for papadoms, (as it is given for free usually when we sit in at Shimla) the manager behaved rudely saying nobody comes here just for starters, you should not sit in for starters alone, you should sit in for main meals. I have not seen anyone do this in last 17 years, you can only sit in if you are having main meals.. blah blah.. I ordered chicken pakora for which they gave just 4 small pieces and charged £5.54 for it. Quantity wise it's way too less. Very disappointed with the service. Never going back again.

I came across this Indian about two years ago and haven't ordered from another one since. Lovely food and the onion bhajis are literally to die for. Highly recommend, lovely staff as well. Give out a free drink when collected my order as well. Excellent service.

As Indians, we are very apprehensive trying out our own cuisine abroad because more often than not, it disappoints. But this restaurant really truly impressed us. From beginning to end, we were taken care of like never before and the food was so delicious. Further, a food allergy was tended to so well, that we really couldn't have asked for more! Worth every pound and much much love ❤️

We live 5 mins from this place but the rice and naan bread were cold by the time we got them home. Thank heavens we have a micro wave! We will be taking our next meal away from o ur regular place in future.

Didnt get my order correct even after 3 attempts on the phone, rang up when delivered to be told some of my order he didnt place! Partners chicken in his korma had lots of veins in it and wasnt plesant! Id avoid at all costs!!

The only Indian in N.I. that I don't regret the next morning (you know what I mean). Is there any better endorsement than that? I've only had takeaway vegetarian meals from here, but they've been unfailingly good, sometimes excellent—seems to depend on the availability and freshness of the ingredients. Very nice staff at front desk. Orders usually ready early.

Food was fine, BUT wanted to take some food home, as was left a good bit. The weiter put three different sauces in one jar. And mixed two meals in one. Please, let the customers put themselves food in the jars if you don't know how to do it properly

Quality food an sevice, never fails!!

This is my favourite restaurant, the best Indian food can be found here! I love the veggie masala and my mother adores the Chicken Korma. We usually stop by for the takeaway, but we went here for my birthday as usual the food was beautiful. The staff are amazing and it's great to have such a gem like this locally. There are plenty of places to park if you're driving or the 6A bus will literally drop you off at the door. There is also an app you can use to order your food too and a delivery service is available as well.

Absolute quality beautifully cooked indian & fantastic customer service so friendly couldn't recommend them highly enough & very good value for money, if you enjoy it hot i recommend the phal.

What a deceiving place this is a real hidden gem the food is unreal and the staff were so attentive will definitely be back again.
