Nu Delhi in Belfast

My Dad and I are travelling from Australia and we thought it’s the best Indian we have had in the UK. We would highly recommend

The food was quite bland but it was close to my hotel. No hooks on the back of the toilet door - putting my handbag on the toilet floor is not hygienic.

Seriously delicious. So many layers of flavors. We ordered the lamb Samosa chat, and the papadam and chutney and lamb desi Karahi and pashawari naan and keema naan and daal —- plus wine and gin and tonic. Everything was so full of flavor and yummy goodness. Plus the service was so incredible. We couldn’t be more happy with our experience here. If you like spices and flavor and excellent service - this is for you!

Good Indian cuisine, halal and vegan options available. Must try place. PS- reserve before to avoid in dining disappointments.

Nicest Indian meal in a long time and great service

It is one of the best places in Belfast for India cuisine, if not the best. Can't wait to eat there again. The head waiter has to be commented.

Wow pre birthday treat. Local colleague took us for ting curry night. Wow. Probably the best curry house I have ever frequented around the globe. Starter amazing food. Main same again. Every thing band on as the locals would say. Top place 100%.

Found this a short walk from hotel we stayed at not your typical curry menu and some good options on offer with choice for veggie/vegan diners too Excellent service too Only complaint was that menu had main course listed as lamb rogan Josh which I assumed would be the price shown on menu but was charged a £1 extra when bill came This was mentioned on the menu but didn’t say it related to all dishes ok the menu which is frustrating

An impromptu gathering of colleagues lead to a very good evening. The waiter, Adil, rapidly found us a table and kept us well served all evening. The food was good with my chicken tikka madras being a change from the normal.

This restaurant served us delicious food, with fresh flavours and beautiful presentation. It was the tasty meal I've eaten in a while. The restaurant was buzzin' even at half5. There were families and groups starting their night out. There were lots of staff who were very efficient and friendly. Our server Divya was great and very professional. I can't wait to go back.

Absolutely delightful dining experience at Nu Delhi! The service was both swift and friendly, especially thanks to Satyam and Arkam, who attended to us throughout the evening. Their attentive and cheerful service made our dinner even more enjoyable. Each dish was a burst of flavor, truly satisfying and well-presented. We were initially unaware of the 10% service charge and ended up tipping twice, but given the excellent service we received, we were happy to let it go. It's worth noting, especially given that genuine hospitality can sometimes be rare in Ierland. Highly recommend visiting Nu Delhi for anyone looking for top-notch food and service!

This was my second trip to this restaurant during stays in Belfast. Food was very tasty and decent portions. Staff were very friendly. Make sure to book ahead, it was practically full on a Monday night. Recommend highly.

Such a great place for a curry. We love a good curry and try and find one wherever we go in the world and this has to be one of the best ones we’ve had. We went on a Friday night and found it easy to book a table. We were seated quickly and the staff were really friendly. Food came quickly and was gorgeous. We thought that all the food we chose had a great amount of spice and flavour.

It’s a strange thing that people write reviews with one brilliant script and then disappear giving a place like this Nu Delhi top ratings. Well we went and were very disappointed. Soggy Onion Bhajis With smear of sweet chill sauce on a plate. Curries are smooth purred sauces with little texture. Seasoning was weak and flavours disjointed. Service is prompt and staff are encouraged to check throughout.

Authentic Indian flavors. Exotic and cozy atmosphere. Very loud sound making it difficult to communicate with the attendant.

From start to finish the service was excellent. In fact the service one would expect from a high end eatery. The food was also flawless. We had Tandoori lamb chops and tandoori prawns for starters. They were absolutely unreal. This was followed by a a spicy yet delicious Chicken Tikka Madras and a mild yet delicious Chicken tikka balti. Sides of garlic nann, pilau rice and masala chips. Highly recommend. Definitely on the higher end of the cost bracket but most definitely worth it.

Last night we had a fantastic meal at Nu Delhi, so good in fact, that we decided to eat there again tonight. We are only in Belfast for two nights, it's that good. Last night our waiter was Abhi and tonight our waiter was Iqbal. The service was great, they were able to seat us without reservations and the food was fantastic. Tonight I opted for 3 appetizers: Samosa Chaat (my favorite), Shredded Beef Mango salad, and chicken pakora. My husband had the Dum Puk Chicken, also delicious. Best Indian food.

We visited this place in March, the food was just so amazing, best place to have authentic northern Indian food. We met Neela, who recommended us good food items and was very attentive towards us and even Salma, thanks to them. We will visit this place, whenever we go to Belfast. Loved the Punjabi butter chicken.

Absolutely fabulous, visiting Belfast and we fancied a curry!!! Food is incredible, service is superb and friendly and such a nice atmosphere. Salma, Azka and Humaira have been so kind to us and given us brilliant service. Hats off to them ⭐️⭐️

Everything is so fine and perfect specially for Indian 🇮🇳, and yes they have different level of spice and hot for local people. And with such bar counter it feels all like I am in India

Had a wonderful experience celebrating my Dad’s 60th Birthday. Iqbal who served us was a gentleman. He gave us the best recommendations & asked the chef to tailor the dishes to our spice preferences!

Great place very good service and food

We loved everything at this restaurant. Every step of this dining experience was exquisitely executed from the moment we were seated to when we left. The service and food were amazing. The lamb samosas were light and crispy and delicious. The lamb Rogan Josh was perfectly seasoned. If you like Indian food you must eat here.

Food was Hot and tasted really fresh. Service time is really quick as well! Arkam and Tabya provided an excellent customer service and will be back again soon. Thanks

It was just ok, food was very bland other than chilli, which i like but not on its own. Prawns over cooked, pilau rice was good just not much of it and their prosecco is disgusting! Service was ok, dont think i would be back

We turned up quite late without a booking and the staff were so accommodating, we sat at the bar for just 10 minutes and a table for 2 was sorted for us. The choice of food was amazing and tasted divine! Our server, Neela, was so lovely. She checked in on us and topped up our drinks, and made the whole experience so enjoyable.

The staff and the service was great. The same can't be said about the food. Lacking originality so then feels overpriced for the quality of the food that came out. Will not be visiting again.

Found this wee place looking through reviews and chose it because of what so many said about both the food and the service. They were not wrong. The food was delicious, best Indian meal we’ve had. The service was second to none, friendly and efficient. All staff checked in regularly but we never felt uncomfortable. Particular shout out to Adil who was our main server, lovely guy really friendly and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We will definitely recommend to friends and family and will definitely eat here again ourselves. Thanks you!

Delicious food, i specially love their peshawari naan. Great service by Salma, i appreciate her kindness. I like the atmosphere we had a enjoyable evening.

First time at this restaurant, the food was lovely and service was good. Only thing that would stop me going back was being asked to leave after 1 hour because it was busy. We had paid and were just finishing drinks, you really don't expect to be rushed out after an hour. Was a real pity as it was a good experience up until then. Hopefully they can work on this and not give this service to anyone else.

Excellent quality Indian food. The spiciness ranges from 🌶️ to 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. I tried the 🌶️🌶️ and you don't see. So four only for the brave.

I was very excited to try Nu Delhi after hearing great things and wow, the food did not disappoint! It was absolutely out of this world. Everything was amazing and I was stuffed afterwards. The balti was just the right level of spicy and I simply couldn’t get enough of the poppadoms. However I would suggest they re-consider the portions of rice as they were very small. We had to wait on a table at the bar as the placed was packed. The waiter was very apologetic and assured us we would have a table shortly. At the end of our meal he offered us some free shots to apologise for the waiting time. The customer service we received was outstanding and all staff members were extremely professional. The only thing I disliked about Nu Delhi was how loud it was. It is clearly a very popular spot but I personally would have preferred a quieter dining experience which is why I have chosen to deduct a star.

Very high quality curry experience. Decent amount of monkfish in the fish curry. Excellent dhal. Quite expensive, especially drinks.

Had dinner at Nu Delhi yesterday after being recommended this restaurant by the Holiday Inn. The food was amazing with a large selection of different curries, naan breads and sides. Service also made us feel very welcome, they made sure we had everything we needed and the starters, sharing platters and mains came out perfectly on time. The restaurant is energetic with a welcoming and lively atmosphere and a very hospitable staff, highly recommend!

Food taste and service was great, but the portion sizes were quite small for how much we paid, so this is why it lost a star. A bit overpriced

This is our third time over several years to visit Belfast and also Nu Delhi. Honestly it's hands down the best Indian restaurant on the island of Ireland. The staff are fantastic, the food is excellent, the atmosphere so nice -always full of people and buzzing. Ate here as a family of 3.. 2 adults and 1 x 7 year old. While they have a kids menu we actually opted for a couple starters for our son instead. He really enjoyed. Highly recommend samosa chaat for something a bit different and, and the paneer with peppers. Great cocktail list

Best Indian I’ve ever had - we got the vegetarian board to start, paneer butter masala & chicken tikka mashoor for mains. Spicy but delicious! Highly recommend.

It's probably the 6th or 7th time we visited Nu Delhi and it never disappoints. Excellent service from all staff. Food is delicious and freshly made, portions are great and good selection of drinks. I usually have the chicken korma, which is absolutely perfect and chicken is super tender and yummy and hubby has tried chicken balti, tikka masala, desi chicken masala, traditional biriyani and loved all of them. The 3 course banquet menu is a perfect choice if you want to try different starters. It's the best Indian restaurant in Belfast and highly recommended for a visit.

Amazing food and lovely service from denye

Food was very good only surpassed by the service. I haven't eaten anywhere in recent memory where they were so attentive and it was busy too. Kudos to the staff.

The naan and kadhi paneer were disappointing as they seemed to have been reheated rather than freshly prepared. The lack of freshness was evident in both dishes, detracting from the overall dining experience.

The food was amazing and not too expensive. Excellent service, the staff were very nice and accommodating. Would recommend and definitely be visiting again.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at this place. The food was delectable, and the service was outstanding, with special mention to the excellent staff - Neela, Salma, and Sazal. The ambiance and customer service were truly impressive. Highly recommend to all!

Visited this restaurant about a month ago and had an outstanding experience! The food was absolutely fabulous, and the customer service was exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. They were knowledgeable about the menu, and provided prompt service throughout the meal. Additionally, they went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was enjoyable, checking in regularly to see if we needed anything and addressing any concerns promptly and professionally. I would definitely give it a 10 out of 10 and highly recommend it to others!

Everything about this place was great from the service to the food. I was not expecting to find such an amazing Indian food restaurant in Northern Ireland but this is one of my top now.

1st time trying the Nu Delhi last night and we were not disappointed! The food & service was incredible. We asked for a dish to be made to our taste and they delivered! Beautifully presented, just an all round great dining experience. One very, very small criticism, 90 mins isn't quite long enough as you have to vacate your table after this time, that's maybe just a personal thing though. Sunila, our server was exceptional. Friendly, very helpful and just added to our visit. 10/10 would recommend and we will definitely be back!

TL;DR - very loud and inappropriate for a nice meal. Asked to move twice, when there were tables available in a quieter part of the restaurant, first time ignored, second time told not possible? Take note of the amount of reviewers on this page with only 1 review (suspicious?) Some have said it’s overhyped, its beyond that. Terrible experience. Only appropriate for large groups on a stag, or out for a rowdy night. Loud R&B music, not authentic, overcooked chicken and lacking flavour. more like a pub that happens to serve Indian inspired food. Staff didnt care if we were having a nice time or enjoying our meal.

Got takeaway for treat for family birthday. The best way to describe the food is that it doesn't taste like any Indian food I've had before The chicken dishes had plenty of chicken, the pilau rice was yellow and very sticky, the mushroom rice was the same but with a few chopped mushrooms thrown in ? The garlic , chilli dish had jalapeño peppers almost raw chopped in, very Mexican just odd and didn't enhance the dish at all. Tikka masala was bad, under seasoned and almost bitter. It really lacked the gentle wonderful flavours of Indian cuisine. Even the little spicy onion chutney was strange, very sugary but hot. 4 of us ate the takeout and no one enjoyed it. Wouldn't order again.

Ordered the Chicken Tikka and some rice - got home and saw the colour of the curry which I knew was just wrong, its bright red and sugary. Hardly taste spices at all. Pretty tikka’d off mate. Won’t be back.

The guys here helped us out at getting 12/13 of us around a table. The service from the team was great although we all did find that the curries were all too hot (hotter than we're used to in North London). Either way, great service and atmosphere and would love to go again but not have to rely on yogurt to get me through the meal!

Cannot speak highly enough of this place. Down to the little things, they get everything right. Menus that cater really well for vegans and gluten free, great cocktails that don't cost the earth and really friendly, personable service. Prices were really good for a place that was so high end. Big shout out to Adil for looking after us, especially on the recommendations and being so tuned in on the dietary needs at the table. Exactly the kind of banter we were looking for in Belfast. And to whomever decided to put honeycomb in the jawbox cocktail - you're a genius

We had a beautiful dinner here which was made even better by the brilliant service. Our waiter noticed I found my dish too spicy and offered to make it more mild for me. He brought out a whole new dish and could not have been nicer about it. We had the butter chicken and monkfish curry which were both delicious. The atmosphere was great too! We would return.

Came across this restaurant whilst visiting Belfast and it was one of the nicest foods I've tasted. Amazing menu, good prices and even better service. Satyam was brilliant and recommended some great local places to see! Would highly recommend.

This restaurant was a 10/10 in terms of ambience, food and customer service. The food was fresh, tasty and well-priced. The service was amazing, particularly our server Humaira who was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place!
