If you want a country pub with amazing,home cooked and fresh food then this is the place. The owner is very accommodating to all and it is even better to see a great pub back in Queniborough again Well done Kam and team

Booked a table last night, 4th April. Staff all very attentive without being overbearing, lovely restaurant and the food was amazing. We both ordered the Sirloin steak with all the trimmings and it was amazing, everything was cooked to perfection and extremely well presented, after a break between course we ordered desert, apple crumble with custard and chocolate brownie, again really lovely and well presented. A good selection of drinks on offer too, lovely draught Timothy Taylors. It was our first visit, but it won't be our last. I believe new owners took on The Brittania late last year and I'd like to wish them every success.

Me and my husband went there for lunch and we absolutely loved the food starters mains and desserts all absolutely lovely big potions as well and all freshly made staff were really friendly and helpful lovely atmosphere best pub food we have ever had

This was our first visit and will not be the last !! We were greeted by friendly staff and were made to feel welcome. The menu was amazing and we were spoilt for choice. We decided on belly of pork, fish and chips and the special of chorizo and beef lasagne. We all said it was one of the best meals and found room for deserts which were equally delicious. Service was excellent…the staff were all very professional. We had a great family dinner out.

The food was amazing. The gammon steak was a good size and very tasty, it came with pineapple and the most amazing egg, which was in a batter. Congratulations to the chef. An Excellence is well deserved.

Family birthday party for 19 people, many different meals selected, all of them quality and hot, all 19 of them provided at the same time.

Used to come here alot, and stopped, as it was going down hill. Visited on Sunday for the first time in a year. Food was great, lovely staff. The only negative was the fact it took nearly a hour to receive our mains, but it was busy. Will definitely be going back!

We both had a lovely & so tasty meal at The Brittania Pub, not been for agood while so thought we would try it again after the lovely reviews on fb. We were not disappointed, staff lovely & very helpful & could not do enough to help & advise on menus & ingredients etc. I had the curry of the day & hubby had the sea bass. Both were beautifully presented & they both tasted amazing. We will definitely be going back to try & taste more of there lovely food . We finished off by sharing a sticky toffee pudding & it was the best we have had by far. Well done to you all. 😃5*+ deserved.

Our first trip with the new owners but it won’t be our last! We had amazing food, service and the most friendly atmosphere this evening. The Valentines set menu was absolutely delicious 🤤 and my hubby is now a tofu convert! All hot, flavoursome, beautifully prepared and presented food (well done Chef) was delivered by the awesome table staff Ellie, Jess and Rhona. Great value for money. Well done to the whole team. We enjoyed the laughs too……SERVICE 🤩👏🏻

It was our first visit to the Britannia but it was well worth it. Everything was good. Food, presentation, friendly staff and atmosphere. It was quiet as we visited on a Tuesday in February. We were specially pleased, as was the Chef, when we asked for a vegetarian curry as it was a meat curry on the menu. We've only had that once before but it makes it much easier to want to go again. One up for the Chef!!

Visited last night for the first time ever. The restaurant was very warm and inviting, was seated promptly, service was good and was well taken care of. Food was delicious , lovely and fresh. Chicken was juicy and well flavoured along with the mash and vegetables! Wine was a good quality at a very reasonable price. The only slight criticism I can give and this is in no reflection at all on the food or service. We ordered a sticky toffee pudding in which was very nice and the cream served with it was lovely…… but it wasn’t really a traditional sticky toffee pudding, it was far too sweet and lacked the date flavour a sticky toffee has, more along the lines of a syrup sponge perhaps. Again it was nice just not what I would expect from a sticky toffee. Overall it was a really good experience, one I will be telling everyone about and very eager to go back to explore the menu and obviously try the curry! Will be returning 😊

Just visited for food with my girlfriend, not been here for about 4 years. What a great pub, this is definitely a new favourite. Had the porchetta roast and a brownie to follow. They catered for my girlfriend’s awkward food allergy too. Very nice indeed. Bups, the new landlord is a top bloke too. Fantastic atmosphere. Well worth a visit!

Really enjoyed the Sunday lunch here. Service was disappointing on entry. Being left by 2 unbusy barmaids to flounder whilst the over rushed waiter tried to get us a table. Overall service was really good by one individual in particular, shame they were so busy whilst some others didn’t seem so busy ! The food was all in all nice, not 5 star but definitely a solid dish. Would recommend.

5 of us went to eat on a Sunday, we had porchetta, chicken supreme, and the curry of the day red Thai chicken curry. All were excellent and reccomended by each diner For pudding, sticky toffee, crumble and brownie again all really good. A really warm welcome and enthusiastic servers. Well reccomended. If you've read Sheila's review below I would like to share some insight. 1 out of the 7 mains for Sunday had a spice, and that was "mild" that was the thai red curry. 4/7 puddings had cinnamon which is an extremely rare allergen (not top 13) 😉

This pub has been through several changes of ownership since it's heyday with generally disappointing results. It was great therefore to find it busy and back to something like it's old self. Service was friendly and efficient and food and drinks great. Welcome back The Brittania. We will be back!

Food was delicious and staff were friendly & accommodating. Nice variety on the main & kids menu. I had a steak which was really tasty and cooked well. Really enjoyed our evening at the Brit!

A big improvement on the previous owners. Very clean and welcoming. However, lots of spicy dishes. Even the steak pie. Not good when you have allergies. Therefore, my options were limited as many dishes were made in advance. Prefer a pub to serve a variety of meals. Did they notice that every dessert contains cinnamon? I don't mind it but others may.

As residents of Queni, we have seen and tasted the results of our beloved local pub switching hands several times in rapid succession. The newest owners, Kam and Bups, we hope are here to stay. It’s SO lovely to have our local back to its former glory. We have been twice thus far, both for their regular menu and for the much anticipated curry night. The food is well thought out and beautifully presented, definitely worth coming for both from near and far. Thank you, team Britannia!

Lovely meal of fish and chips...really crispy batter on the fish and yummy onion rings!

OK food but quite expensive. It feels as though the new management are trying to be a gastro pub but missing the mark. The food sounds fancy but was overcooked. The sea bass was good but the fondant potatoes mentioned were just roast potatoes that were dry and the dish as a whole lacking in sauce. My son's chips were overcooked and so he left them. The pub is very dark and old fashioned inside which doesn't suit the menu. Perhaps it would be best to do fewer dishes really well rather than offering so many and not getting them right. A shame.

Great home cooked Sunday roast. Large plateful, tasty & well presented. Friendly welcoming staff. New owners have brought this pub back to life.

Had lunch on New Years Eve, 5 of us. Good selection on the menu, large servings that were presented nicely. Good luck to the new owners. 2 of us had the curry and they said it was delicious. Curry nights coming up on Tuesdays starting 9th Jan. No photos unfortunately, I was too busy hoovering the food! New owners so good luck to them and give the place a go, it’s better than previous food.

Well Stubbies (sorry locals still call it Stubbies and not the Britannia) is back with full force. 4 of us visited for my husbands birthday after seeing good reviews and it didn't disappoint. We found the food was fresh and hot and flavoursome, we all had something different and it was all presented beautifully. The price was the same as the other independent brewery establishments. I would happily visit again and again. Thank you for looking after us.

Went there for lunch today as a group of 3. I'd booked just in case but there were tables available for walk ins. Very nicely decorated, warm & inviting. Tables spaced well so you can have a chat without having to listen to your neighbours. Great service. Great menu, something for everyone. Fabulous food, they must have a very good chef as all dishes we had were well presented & tasted excellent.

Went here for our work Christmas do dinner. we had the full Christmas turkey dinner. It was well presented and the food excellent. Our first time here since the new owners and what a difference. The staff were helpful and friendly. We will definitely go back.

We ate at the Britannia on Saturday 2nd. We have been Customers for over 30 years. Since the retirement of Phill and Kate there have been several attempts at running the Pub/Restaurant with little success. We had 2 x Soup starters, Brisket Chilli and Gammon Mains, 2 x White Wine and 1 1/2 pints of Landlord. All the food was well cooked and presented. Service was fine. The bill was for £63:45. The new owners have made a dramatic improvement since our last visit, having only been operating for a week. We enjoyed our evening at the Britannia and it is highly recommended. We will return. Highly disappointed with the service and quality of food at the Britannia inn in queniborough the bbq and pepperoni pizzas we ordered today on the 2/1/23 where given to the wrong table they had both been touched and coughed on by kids and only the bbq pizza was offered to be swapped after waiting 25 minutes for the food we then had to wait another 15 minutes for a new bbq pizza which came with tomatoes on which shouldn’t be on the pizza as it doesn’t say that on the menu and the chicken was pink so we will not be visiting the Britannia in in the future and we only got the refund for the bbq pizza when we want a full refund as all the food wasn’t worth the price we payed

The Britannia Public Pub& Restaurant as recently been taken over by new owners .We tried this place teatime of Monday 27 th November . We ordered a meal , I can honestly say this was the best tasting food we have eaten for a long time . The chief definitely knows his food flavours ect . Customer services is rare these days in the UK , the Chief took the time to come out of the kitchen to our table to ask how our food once . Priceless customer services from a fanstatic busy chief . The new owner and bar staff were so helpful and accommodating . The owner is showing real leadership being at front of house to speak to his customers . This business will go from strength to strength, people must go and try the food . You will not be disappointed . We will be back 👍 I doubt in the summer months you will be able to get a table inside or out without booking . Good luck with this beautiful pub in a beautiful village setting , you will be successful congratulations x🌷

We’ve lived in the village for more than 30 years and this is the finest food we’ve eaten in this pub in that time. The fish and chips were excellent - but beware the pizza. Says it’s hot and it is, but tasty!

Service was very slow, waited 1.25hrs for food to arrive and when I checked up on it 45mins in I was met with a mediocre attitude from front of house staff. Poor standard of hospitality. The pub would only deduct £2 off the bill. We...

We booked for 7pm and the menu was given at 7.15. We were told six items on the menu were not available. We got our starters at 8.00, which were all so salty. We then waited ages and watched as two tables that arrived after us, were served their mains. We didn't get served our mains until 9:00. After waiting two hours for food, the chips were cold, and a lot of them were hard in the middle. Three of us ordered fajitas, the fajita that came was build your own, there was no salad and almost no meat (just onion and peppers) and it was more of a casserole. None of us ate many of the chips and the fajitas weren't really touched. When they came to ask how the food was, we told them this and were advised they'd take the drinks off the bill. We had already paid over £50 in drinks at the bar, there were only 2 drinks on the bill. When she brought the bill over, the drinks were still on it. We complained again and said that we weren't happy to pay for the fajitas, we waited 2 hours and it was awful. She refused to take any of the fajitas off because the last time she did that she got 'bollucked', so not sure if this is a regular occurance. They took the two drinks and the onion rings off the bill, removing £14 total and that was it. We asked for a refund on the drinks we had already paid for and she said she doesnt know how to do a refund. They offered a voucher it was laughable. Disgusted, we almost walked out of the pub waiting for the food, and was definitely not worth the wait. We will never be returning and will be advising other people not to go either. It's a shame because we used to go to this pub quite often and it used to be nice.

Restaurant was empty , lots of staff standing around but very slow service, had to go to bar to ask to order food took ages to bring sauces , condiments, forgot extra gravy despite preordering, food was warmed up , very poor quality cauliflower cheese...

First time we went there at lunch time fish and chips were excellent, so much so I encouraged my family to join us this next time in the evening. How disappointing. The fish was just like frozen supermarket fish, half the size and no sign of the beer batter. The only thing that hadn't changed was the price! Won't be visiting again too inconsistent.

Very good food very good and hot.

Can't say any better than OK. There were dishes missing from the menu. The starters were the best part of the meal. One of the main meals arrived visably overcooked, however it was quickly replaced (microwaved?) The portions were generous. I don't think we saw The Britania at its best for a Saturday afternoon lunch.

Went for a meal with family we at to wait hour and a half for dinner, veg was very hard wasnt much veg as well and a little bit of mash, yorkshires was burnt we ordered pudding the only 3 come out unstead of 4 pudding while we eaten ours the person who was doing the pudding couldnt understand 1 pudding so the other person come out and ask about the pudding and then he went and done the pudding then come back to explane that the other person couldnt understand what was writen down so we refused to pay for our meals so only payed for drinks and puddings and we wasnt the only ones what complaned about the meals we wont be going there again

It felt like some staff didn't like that we were drunk.......in a pub!

New owner with new menu that looks posh & prices gone up, but the food was terrible. Cold water prawns, full of fish / prawn eggs, they were tiny & once the shell was off were minuscule. I returned them & was told it was a bad batch. We were offered a free drink or pudding, we asked for a refund. No rotisserie chicken because they haven’t got a rotisserie for the chicken! Ham, egg & chips came out as packet sliced ham, ( one slice ) eggs on top in a pool of oil and the rest dry chips. No salad, no peas, nothing. Lasagne was burnt on the bottom & congealed, with no flavour, which I left. We both felt sick an hour eating here, & won’t be returning. It was the worst meal we’ve had out for a long time. Tables & floor outside were dirty.

Very disappointing we are old customers trying again after a years absence. On a Friday evening it was quiet yet service was slower than expected nothing on the starters appealed so we went directly to mains and had Scampi ok but looked a bit small...

Amazing service with amazing food, definitely be going again, lovely area and very well cleaned… 10/10 recommend Food was filling a delicious and being a Yorkshire bird there was enough gravy on there to keep anyone happy, smiles all round.

I went on a grill night,only one menu avaliable and they had one option out of 3 steaks avaliable- it was early hours. Ordered 2 plates of cheesy garlic bread. Only one plate came with but with 1 cheesy garlic bread and one normal. Did get the other plate eventually, but we did have to to ask for them to check our bill for it. The toilets were closed. Overall the food was hot and nice enough pub grub. Reasonable price .Food was out quickly as it wasn't too busy Wouldn't again though on grill night.

Best roast dinner I’ve had out in a long while, Not many places do mash and roasties and this for me is a must, cauliflower cheese as a extra was lovely, meat cooked beautifully, all hot and service was amazing Will definitely be back!

Had a lovely late lunch on recent Saturday afternoon. The fish and chips were very tasty with home made tartar sauce. We had a grandchild with us who was well satisfied and then we realised he ate free with us! Very nice friendly staff, good service and a pretty little village. Very nice food and friendly service

Popped in for a quick lunch one Friday. Plenty of tables available and a good range of food. I had a steak ciabatta and skin on fries. Husband had a burger and fries. Generous portion sizes, food was delicious and staff attentive. Good value and a lovely location.

It's been a year since we ate here but the pub has changed hands since then. The menu was much improved. The staff very friendly and informative regarding food intolerances etc. I chose the beef stroganoff, my wife the lasagne and my son the gormet burger. We all found the food to be well presented, good quality and very tasty. We will definitely return.
