Wouldn't be running back for a takeaway. On the order was Jeera Chicken Wings, we received tandoori wings, these were supposed to be for my 6 year old, therefore wanted something mild. The chips were drab, looked like they were cooked earlier in the day and just left. The hariyali chicken was pink inside. For curries, the Keema, Lamb, Chicken mix had no flavour to be honest, you could still taste that lamby taste, needed much more spices to get rid of that raw meat taste. Garlic chilli chicken was ok again needed more depth of flavour Ive had the Harrow Inn as a takeaway when it first opened and we really enjoyed it, but today was a big disappointment. The order was £55 which is alot for a take out, and disappointing that none of it tasted to the standards of their prices.

Disappointed with this place to dine out as BIG prices SMALL portions. We ordered a LARGE Boneless sizzler paying £18.50 but in fact looked like a small portion which was wrong. The price of drinks very very expensive like £5.50 for a pint of Gunness WOW and hardly any variety on bottled beer apart from Tusker. Place needs a full decor and proper comfortable seats, really needs alot doing inside. Summit did look after us after complaining about food portions so credit to him. Food OK but I will NOT be coming back in a hurry as other good places to eat around Leicester.

Food is very salty, inexperienced staff and decor has not been changed since it was a pub. Peeling wallpaper and damp on the ceiling and walls. Very poor experience.

First time visitor, all the starters that were ordered had the same sauce. The mains were bland which were left over hardly touched. Ended up paying for food that was not even worth paying for. Shall not be going back.

Very disappointed in the quality and quantity in the food. Do not order lamb on the bone, because you will just get bones. Customer service is not acceptable, not professional at all. Will not be going to this restaurant again.

1st time going here and here we go food is tasty portions do not equal the money charged, DO NOT order lamb on the bone all you will get is a bowl full of bones and curry, lamb curry is not lamb it's actually mutton, so it more fat than meat. Butter chicken is nice but 5 pieces of chicken and there was 6 of us. Staff are rude up themselves you have to chase them rather than them looking after you. We went in having a laugh and walked out angry and let down as food was tasty portions were ridiculously small and staff are letting the place down

well what can i say. this is the first time in many years of going to the curry houses of leicestershire that we were asked to move from our table because they had another group waiting after an hour and three quarter! we booked at 7.30pm and intially all ok starters and main good . but the waiter starting picking up plates when one of our group of 4 was still eating and the bill was brought to us without us asking for it. felt a bit like we were being rushed and then the waiter came over at 9.15pm to say there was a group waiting for our table and we could finish our drinks at a table my the bar! talk about spoiling your customers mood. after 2 hours i get but 1.45 hours so wrong. wont be going back here again. plenty of other places that dont rush you like this place

went with three other friends. nice place and all ok at start but started to feel rushed when plates being cleared when one of groop still eating and bill brought to table without us requesting it. then asked to vacate our table after 1hr 45 mins as another group waiting for our table and we could finish our drinks at a table near the bar. most places give u at least a 2 hour slot at a table but not this place. never been asked before to vacate a table within 2 hour. spoilt our mood and so disappointing

Excellent food quite busy as it was a Saturday night only issue raised was a dj turned up and it was extremely loud I did mention this to a member of staff who imformed me that they had other quieter rooms which was helpful for a return visit would highly recommend

Wonderful restaurant to eat English and Indian food. The food and taste is awesome. Staff and service is vary good. You can eat authentic Indian food with proper taste. Good seating area with plenty of space, clinliness and hygienic food. Nice and beautiful atmosphere with extra seating arrangement.

I arranged a night for a long overdue gathering with cousins who travelled down from London and did this place deliver…..smashed it out of the park. Food, drinks, service, atmosphere and the vibes were all on point. The owner was welcoming and very tentative to us and as a looked around it was to all the tables he made himself available and welcoming and always on hand to recommend the right dishes. Spot on place will be going back very soon.

Seating: (on the benches) uncomfortable and sub standard. Fine for a drink, but not for food - you're practically lying down and far from the table to eat. Service: There were plenty of staff but waited 15 minutes before someone realised we'd finished starters. Then another waitress asked if we wanted to order mains when we already had. Food: decent and up to the standards of other Leicester gastro pubs. Drinks: expect to get served by some old guy with a cap and beard. Looks like a punter, doesn't even use a tray, instead gives your drinks one at a time. Most peculiar. Labels still on the steel cups for water. Atmosphere: I'm not sure what the 90s R'n'B tunes blaring out are all about, but otherwise, it was good. Lively, but you can talk ok without shouting too much. Parking: insufficient in the car park when I went (thur) but there's lots on the streets nearby. Would come again, but it won't be for a while. Look forward to seeing improvements with service in time or shall just revert to my usual decent places - Durham ox, wyvern, marten inn, etc.

Over priced food for pub service was bad

Food was great in particular the machazi and the garlic lamb (on the chefs special section). It was home style cooking and you could taste the flavours. Will be back it was busy for a Sunday night which is alway a good sign....

First time ive been there and it won't be the last ,Food was first class and staff very friendly .

Went for a meal on xmas eve, it was spot on. The Nepalese twist on the dishes was a lovely change to the majority of indian grill/pubs (not that they're bad at all) but alot of them can be similar. Staff were attentive and helpful and the food just speaks for itself. Highly recommend.....parkings not an issue either which is very convenient for a change.

Good points - ample parking, welcoming atmosphere - large fire, bar staff attentive, clean. Could do better - time taken for food to arrive…. First time here. Arrived as a group of 3 at 7.15pm. Table booked was still being used so we were moved to a table near the fire which was a bonus. Cruzcampo on tap, went down well. Ordered 2 starters - crispy began (aubergine) - bit meh and crispy bhajia - much better. Also ordered from the curry club menu, where you get a curry, rice , poppadoms, plain naan and salad for £12. I ordered the lamb kofta curry, my friends both ordered the Kenyan style (machoosi) egg curry. We were asked if we wanted it all to come together or starters first then mains. We chose to get starters first, big mistake. The starters came within 20 /25 mins but the mains took another hour + to arrive. We did ask where the food was and was told there was a 45 min wait for food! I don’t know if it was a tactic to get you to drink more but it was annoying. The warm plates they brought out after the starters went stone cold by the time the food arrived. Food itself was ok, I’ve personally had better but maybe ordering a la carte may have been better? Don’t get me wrong the food is not bad but I had high expectations as heard / seen positive reviews. All in all I would come again but wasn’t that impressed. Maybe just one of those days. Ps If you’re expecting to pay for your food and drinks together at the end, that isn’t an option, you will have to pay for your drinks and food separately.

This is my second time visiting and will certainly not be my last. Lovely, warm cosy atmosphere, fantastic staff and absolutely superb food. Authentic, tasty and flavoursome are just a few ways to describe the delicious food we have had here twice! Brilliant veg and non veg varieties available on the menu. Both times bang on! Don’t take my word for it try it out for yourselves you won’t be disappointed. Cocktails were lovely too. Can’t thank the staff enough for their attentive service and hospitality. Very quiet when we went in mid Saturday afternoon. I had a curry which was one of the best I've ever tested.

I went with my family last night for some Indian food, as a new Indian menu has come out. The food was absolutely amazing. The service was great, and also there was entertainment too. I would definitely come here again. New place to get an Indian :)

The food was lovely, full of flavours. All curries and rices that we had was very good sizing and very fresh. The service was very good. Definitely will be going back again..

A lot of changes after assuring regular customers this wouldn’t be the case. I don’t think all the menu changes are great at all, and expensive for the quality of food given. It’s a shame as we used to love coming here but now a shadow of what it used to be, lots of nicer places serving the same food as this new menu in the area

Visited on a Wednesday night for their kitchen opening as they now have a new menu 'Doon Spice'. Food was really nice, large portions and quick service. The staff were also very welcoming and friendly and offered us complimentary poppadoms. Will definitely be visiting again and recommending to others.

I have been here many times and the food was always really good. Took my parents and children for lunch today. Last minute booking. Arrived and the car park was empty 🤷🏻‍♀️ Bank Holiday Monday. Went inside and it was empty, no one in just us . Menu has completely changed. Not the best looking menu. Was asked about Allergies and we said one of us has a nut allergy. Young lady checked in kitchen and they suggested we went somewhere else as they couldn’t guarantee anything ? We stayed and said we would risk it . Food came out and I couldn’t believe my eyes. Burgers were served and very small plates. No garnish , just plain. The gammon looked and tasted terrible and was sooo salty. Eggs were broken, tomato over cooked and mushrooms, I just can’t explain. My son had a sirloin steak which was actually rump and it had so much salt and pepper on that it was inedible. My grandson had sausage, chips and about 15 baked beans . However he was the only one that enjoyed it . The waitress was lovely and very apologetic. Oh yes and after about 5 minutes we were served some peas. We had the steak refunded but still paid just under £50 for the worst meal I have ever eaten in a pub/restaurant . No atmosphere, very dingy and a total waste of money . Sadly didn’t take pictures

This pub used to be packed at lunchtime.It has been taken over and we should have realised that things had changed as there was only two other customers in at 12.35.We ordered sandwiches and were left feeling ripped off.The quality of the food was poor and obviously the cheapest they could buy.We paid but told the staff that it was the worst meal ever and would not come back.Buyer beware!!

Very disappointed to go to a pub that clearly states food available went inside counted up there were eight people in the pub which included myself and my husband we asked for a menu to be told no food available as we have taken a booking for 15 so OK we had a drink and sat for approximately forty minutes in this time no one arrived so we think they had ample time to serve us a meal totally shocked that people in hospitality bang on that they are having such a bad time well as far as I'm concerned missed opportunity's won't solve your problems

Having used the Harrow for many years & always enjoyed a good meal I was very disappointed with the standard of food and service we received this evening. Waited a long time for service, which was not with a smile! Steak was rare when asked for medium & had to return it. By the time it was returned I had eaten the rest of my meal. No coleslaw & extra side of garlic bread didn’t appear. Will not be going back.

Having used the Harrow many times in the past ,and alway finding it excellent ,we were very disappointed ,Having booked our table for 8 people, we found the service had deteriorated compared to previous occasions, it all felt very disjointed and unorganised! we ordered and paid for meals only to be told 10mins later they had ran out and could some change their order. When it arrived the quality was below previous standards which was then compounded by them running out of vinegar !! It feels like dejavu of other establishments that have become victims of their own success only to ruin an otherwise faultless reputation. These may seem small issues to you but to the people who look forward to the (Harrow experience) only to leave disappointed it is not (if you will forgive the pun ) a recipe for continued success.

We popped in here on spec to view their Sunday carvery. Ended up having one each straight away ! Both meals were very good and great choice of accompanying vegetables. Good value too. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. A great experience !

Went for lunch today. Lovely well cooked food. We had the £6 meals The breakfast are delicious and would definitely recommend. Friends had roast of the day and lasagne both very good quality and excellent portions. Staff all very welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend

The Harrow is one of those increasingly rare beasts, the community pub. It admirably straddles the balance between being a wet led, and a food pub. the food is very reasonably priced, and of a good (pub) quality, once serrvice is over, the locals still...

22 of us went for an evening meal. It was friendly and the atmosphere was warm. We sat in the Conservatory room and had it to ourselves. The roast dinners were lovely. The meat was tender and the portion sizes were generous. Everyone had different things but all were very satisfied and enjoyed their meals. Service was reasonably quick seeing as how there were so many of us.

We enjoyed our lunch here. Limited choice on the 2 for £12 menu, but we enjoyed our chosen scampi. There is an extensive menu too with lots of choices.

Went for my wedding anniversary meal . Fab food ,and plenty of it. Best scampi I have ever had, plus a lovely sweet for afters, all at a reasonable price. Nice atmosphere and lovely people serving. Thank you to the chef and all the staff. Will be back again. The only reason a didn’t give it a five star rating was because I found the lighting was a little too dark to read the menu.

Food first class, and very reasonably priced -. Service. First class - The staff were very friendly and polite. The premises very clean and tidy. This was our first visit but certainly not the last, I am bringing my sister and brother-in-law next week. My only teeny weeny criticism I don't like sauces etc in sachets. They are fiddly to open and don't hold sufficient.

Recently came here for a 75th birthday meal, there was roughly 25 people.we all had to order food before we arrived so eveything would run smoothly.. so we thought.

What a brill pub ! The little gem shines once more ! Food excellent service excellent ! My father in laws 80th birthday the manageress was lovely put the cake in the cellar to keep cool then brought it out when asked and the live band and all customers sang Happy birthday to him !!! Thanks to all staff and it made my father in laws night have eaten here on many occasions and will continue to do so thanks Helen

Booked a table for 11 people plus one high chair, had a lovely cavery on a Sunday afternoon, plenty of food to choose from, nice variety of meats offered, and not a bad price either

Myself and my partner came in for a drink whilst our son was at an after school club. The service and the funny looks from the women behind the bar was awful. If looks could kill! She made it obvious I wasn’t a regular and even when I tried to smile at her and make conversation she just looked straight through me! We won’t be returning.

Came here on 17.12.17 for an xmas family get together, Lovely place, friendly staff the carvery was fab as so was the deserts :-) we really enjoyed our visit and the food, we all said we would return :-)
