Great Sunday lunch and friendly staff

Nice place to stop in town for food and or drinks. Fast service friendly staff and good food.

Popped in for Sunday lunch. Looked a bit dated but ok. Staff accommodating and friendly. Ordered 3 roast lunches and a veggie. Came in half an hour and presented very well. Good selection of vegetables, good meat portion and extras. To be fair, the food tasted excellent but it was lukewarm. The plate was cold. This is such a simple thing to improve on. 2 people ordered desserts, the other 2 ordered literally 5 minutes later but the chef refused as he was not taking any more orders. I appreciate that there is a cut off point but we were the same table and no desserts had actually been served! Again, this could easily be rectified. However, the toilet facilities really need a good scrub and decorating. I couldn’t recommend as it is which is a shame because it has loads of potential.

Very polite staff had a lively gammon and chop meal only shame is you don't do puddings but overall, a great meal well done all.

Super lunch beautifully cooked. Service is friendly and quick. Would recommend this traditional pub better than any of the chain food outlets available.

Came here twice on the Bank Holiday weekend. On the first occasion I was absolutely wasted so don't remember much apart from dancing to very cheesy yet excelled songs and a very intimate toilet trip. The second time I sadly was not feeling it but this was my own fault - I was still hungover from the previous evening. Not even a couple of shots sorted me out. What a shame.

Popped in for lunch-wow fabulous fish and chips the best ever. Do eat here rather the over priced eateries over the road from here- you won’t be disappointed

Wow !!! Food is absolutely delicious 👌🏼 asked the chef(ette) for any recommendations to be told it’s all good, I can confirm she wasn’t lying. Out of 8 in our party no one was disappointed. Highly recommend the Cider (yes cider) battered Cod and chips, unreal. Don’t waste your money over the road with the chain restaurants pop into the Wellington you won’t be disappointed 👍🏼

Not bad, a little on the small side and can get crowded at certain popular times. Decent pint in decent surroundings.

We really enjoyed our lunch at The Wellington.We came here as our usual place had closed for maintenance and so glad we did.The place is clean and tidy and was nice and warm. It has a basic menu but what we had(Beef pie, Chilli con carne) was plentiful and tasty and great value.Yes I will be coming back to The Wellington.

10/9/22. Stopped for lunch. Clean and plenty of space, ground level and upstairs. Staff were lovely & friendly. You choose your seat, get given a menu from the bar. Order & pay at the bar. Take both card & cash. Had Gammon & chips with both egg & pineapple £6.95. Beef & Ale pie with mash £6.95. Scampi & chips cheaper. All delicious

Came up from Cardiff to spend time with my blind nephew in Hereford and popped in here for dinner. Barmaid was friendly . Place was clean and the 8oz rump steak was very nice . 👍

Went in for Sunday lunch, I’ll give this chef a 12 out of 10, it was amazing and it’s a large portion ( and that’s the adult size), everything was perfect

Very good food and a friendly place.

Lovely place for a quite drink but not interested in the staffs under garments. A little bit of sophistication wouldn't go a miss might even bring in more trade. The public do not want to be served with half dressed half asleep staff.

It's a pub. It's sells drinks of varying types. It has seats and tables. It has music and large screens. It does what it's designed to do. Great for a quick drink on a night out or possibly for Kareoke or quiz night.

Went to The Wellington for sunday lunch as it is usually well organised but not today,the best way to get your food ordered is to go throughJust Eat because the pub seems to favour take away rather than actual people going in the bar to eat if you want Sunday lunch please order on a Thursday........Absolute Rubbish... Walked out after getting money back, piece of advice if you are going to be customer friendly get more staff!!!

Came across this pub on our first night in Hereford and found it clean, tidy and the staff very friendly - next time we're down here from sutton coldfield we will certainly pop in again! Unfortunately we didn't try the food, but will do next time. Thanks to Tina and the rest of the staff for making us welcome!

Popped in to get outta the heat & had a few drinks. MrDW had the cider, I had a few bottles of Corona. They were the best drinks we had during our 2 day stay in Hereford. It was so nice in there we could’ve stayed all day. We got a warm welcome from the staff, & there’s a good atmosphere with much fun & laughter from the locals. Lots of fans going to keep the place cool in these extreme temperatures too. I’d definitely recommend this place.

Today 14Th July. Couldn’t get bacon sandwiches opted for baguette. Could not eat them to hard.

Second time been here. The first time the steak was excellent. This time we both had the 16o/z rump. We waited a hour for the meal, (it wasn’t busy for a Saturday), then the steaks came and they were disgusting. A large clarified piece of meat that my late Jack Russell wouldn’t have ate. Needless to say, we ate half and left the rest for the bin, the best place for it! The patrons weren’t the best either! Keep away, is my advice!

Went with some friends to watch the England football match. Went outside to make a call. Saw and heard some boys shouting racist abuse at a innocent man walking past. The pub lads were clearly drunk. However this behaviour is not acceptable and is embarrassing. The pub owners should take some responsibility in who they are serving/ having in their pub and educate them. They should hire security to help enforce good behaviour. Unfortunately I Won’t be going back there and can not recommend a pub which tolerates racism.

My first trip to The Wellington this afternoon. Felt comfortable there, even as a solo visitor. Very satisfied with food,and bar staff, Tina (?) was pleasant and friendly.

Its a weatherspoons so ok food at a good price stuff were help would eat their again 😊

A lovely young bar lady made us welcome and posted a good pint of Stella. Clean open pub with a relaxed feel.

Typical town centre Pub - unfortuate the beer choice I made was off but it was changed without any fuss. Like most pubs it was a bit more busy at the weekend. On a plus the prices are very competative.

A group of 7 of us popped in for a drink and food on Sunday 16 Feb 2020. Atmosphere was a little unwelcoming. None of the staff bothered to say hello and nobody cracked a smile. Food on offer was “only Sunday lunch”. Beer was OK and the round was very cheap. Just need to improve their service standards.

Superb pub. Clean interior and tables Friendly bar staff. Extremely pleased with the quality of home cooked food. Ordered Cottage pie, chips. Chinese curry chips and rice. Both meals were extremely well cooked and homemade. Price for the food is very reasonable indeed. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Popped in here for lunch 4/2/20 pretty quite the food was excellent and very good value for money. Staff were perfectly cooked. Friendly staffs I’ll most definitely be coming here again.

Great place but the music quality is questionable. We're had to leave cause the music was loud. Great Bose speakers but the source of music was squashed. Maybe Mp3 stuff. Like my music loud but not squashed it hurted my ears. Had to leave. Good beer though.

Called in for a quick pint with the father in law, who only drinks real ale , very poor choice only two options , ending up with a pale ale of HPA , glass and ale were warm , barmaid asked if he wanted ice in his ale I nearly chocked with laughter . He ended up having a Carling as the two ales were not chilled. Needless to say he was not a happy pensioner. We moved on to the imperial inn just up the road for a much better experience.

A busy pub and rather noisy but reasonably priced food so popped in for lunch. The chicken burger was tasty as was the hunters chicken. My daughter ordered the all day breakfast which seemed ok at first although the sausage had a strange taste. Halfway through she discovered the toast had mould so didn't eat any more. When I pointed it out to the staff they told the kitchen. They obviously didn't believe us as she came back to take the toast away to show them. Although she apologised we weren't offered any type of refund, in fact they seemed to avoid our table altogether after that. I don't think we will be returning.

Me and my wife normally come into the pub on a Tuesday evening for the £2.50 pint deal Great selection of drinks! The gentleman behind the bar is absolutely fantastic-entertaining- and very welcoming

What I call a proper pub nice atmosphere and the barman Adam was great, helpful and friendly, definitely visit again.

Cheap as chips really good sunday lunch excelent staff

A big thank you to all at The Wellington for great Sat. night after a day at Hereford races. Coach of us lads from Cardiff had a fab night. We are no spring chickens with ages from 30 to 70 but we were treated by staff as it was our local. We arrived around 16.20 and the DJ was funny and played all your Xmas and old school tunes that the old foes new. Everyone I seen on our Monday Cub drink stated we all enjoy our Xmas day out and evening at The Wellington. Many thanks once again for your hospitality. If your looking for a friendly pub in Hereford try this one.

Me, my partner and his parents visited on a Saturday afternoon, it was around 3pm so not very busy at all. Staff were pleasant, most tables were dirty and hadn't been tidied up but I did overhear that they were short staffed. Waited around 45 minutes for the food to come which seemed excessive due to the amount of people in there. Unfortunately the food was terrible. I ordered a rump steak, medium rare, what I was served was a cremated dry piece of gritty beef along with cremated mushrooms and a tomato ona filthy greasy plate. The beef was more the well done, so no where near medium rare. My partner ordered the steak and ale pie, which did taste nice but again contained dry chewy beef. My mother in law ordered a lasagne which which again dry, crumbly, greasy and was served with two pieces of garlic bread that had been obviously cooked on the same grill as my rump in black grease. Seems that they may have been having a bad day looking at the other reviews, but I certainly cannot recommend it nor will I be returning. We didn't complain at the time as the meals were very cheap, it didn't seem worth it. We obviously got what we paid for.

Whenever we visit Hereford we aim got the Wellington for lunch. We are always very happy with the food, it's of good quality, nicely cooked and generous in size. And well priced too. The young lady behind the bar is friendly and welcoming, she really is an asset to the place.

It is a good place for gathering in the evening / at night. Never eaten there so unable to comment on that part.
